A new manager, or is she an assistant? We purchased 2 meals, one "smaller plate", one unlimited salad bar. My wife got her one trip to the salad bar, and a modest pick at that. I indulged. In the background, a severe looking woman lumbered around, scrutinizing the customers, hovering around the bar, and to my knowledge didn't smile or greet customers to see how things were. The waitress was awesome, being she had dozens of folks to assist, and flying solo. I asked an employee for a small to go container for my wife: her shrimp and leftover salad. The manager, or Keeper of The Feast, handed me the box her very own self, then strode after me to our table, immediately challenging that my wife could not take her leftovers out of the restaurant. Our audacity to assume that what we'd purchased could be taken home! She demanded to see the receipt, and went on about the policy that "kept costs down", and how people (us too, apparently) abused the system. Now, I ask you, is throwing away food we purchased keeping costs down? Somehow, it must. So Frau Topheavy got her hearts desire: we left a tip for the waitress, a tip for the bus man, and the food on the table, whereby we can sleep well knowing that we are helping Sizzler Yuba City to Keep Costs Down. Play by the rules, and she'll be watching, one way or another. We said we wouldn't be back, and in an angelic tone expressed how sorry she was that we felt this way. read more

They do not keep the meatballs and noodles warm at all! They both are cold & not piping hot like the soups! My guess is I think they purposely turn it down so people will eat less...and or save on the electricity. I did emailed Sizzlers two times. The first time they promised it would be taken care of the second time I didn't even get a response back from them at all! This place will never be getting my business again, and I used to eat at this Sizzlers once a month if not twice a month. Also, while paying extra for one of their specialty drinks that normally comes in a tall cute glass mine just came in one of their regular plastic ones. Finally chickens are everywhere & have taken over the parking lot...they are pooping all by the front door which is absolutely disgusting! The price for the buffet is not worth cold food! The last time I went to Sizzlers was in the late 90s. I swore them off because every time I ate there, I would get sick or the food quality wasn't great. Honestly, it's been nearly 20 to 25 years since I've entered this establishment. On Wednesday, I decided to stop in--at least the one in Yuba City--and I kept an open mind. I browsed the menu displayed on the wall and took several pictures to make sure there was something online for people to actually see what they offer. I was having a hard time figuring out pricing and modern day selections. I ended up opting for a full salad bar with unlimited visits. According to the menu, you can also choose an entrée and add the salad bar for $10 more. Their cheapest entree looked to be a hamburger with fries for 13.99, so maybe next time if i'm really starving. I was greeted at my table by a young, lovely host named Zoe, who brought out some complimentary cheese toast. And then I made my way to the salad bar and got my first plate for salad. 2nd trip was to try their deli salads --crab salad, potato salad, broccoli salad. I also had a little cottage cheese, a slice of peach, and on my third trip, I tried two chicken wings, a tiny portion of pasta and spaghetti, a little taquito, and maybe a tablespoon of each type of soup they offered. On my fourth plate, I got another salad with two different dressings--ranch and blue cheese, half and half on either side. I finished off with a little dessert bowl - a brownie nugget with soft serve, some caramel, M&Ms, and a bit of Oreo mix. In between my 2nd and 3rd trip, the cleaning crew accidentally cleared my table. I asked the manager for another plate and they immediately corrected the error. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety, the freshness of the ingredients, and the overall appearance. I noticed the staff constantly checking food temperatures, keeping everything stocked, and ensuring cleanliness--wiping down tables and serving stations. I can't believe I held a negative sentiment against Sizzlers for over 20 years. If they've managed to survive all this time, maybe my bad experiences were isolated to the location I grew up near. I'm a huge fan now, and I'll probably add Sizzlers into my rotation as a decent buffet-style bar. read more

Really great experience enjoying a late Friday afternoon lunch in Yuba City. The day after Thanksgiving I had a chance to enjoy the salad bar buffet at Sizzler. Very nice employees all around, from the cashier to the server. Exceptionally clean and well stocked salad bar with enough options to please everyone. Soup options on this cold afternoon were perfect. Great variety of fruit and vegetable choices and everything looked very fresh. Probably one of the healthiest lunches I've had in a long time. The dining room is very attractive and the big screen TV's were displaying the live holiday football games. The server made sure my iced tea glass was kept full which was appreciated. To Sizzlers in Yuba City, Calif. I frequent this Sizzlers often for lunch & dinner (2 to 3 times a week) because I do not cook much living by myself. Lots of chain options in Y.C. but my favorite is Sizzlers. The food is always average to good, but really shine with great service. Margarita is one of the best- a long dedicated employee that is my favorite here. Always friendly, smiling & keeps my ice tea & cheese toast filled! Great person to talk with as well. Visited jan.14th..see receipt. I have been craving a Sizzler for a long time! I haven't been to one since they closed the Auburn location off of highway 80 years ago. I love a good salad bar and this one was amazing and clean! The variety of lettuce and veggies along with potato and macaroni salad and fresh fruit such as melon and pineapple was exactly what I wanted! They also had 4 kinds of soup along with hot chicken and a taco bar (and spaghetti and meatballs and more). YUM! My friend had the prime rib burger with a baked potato and salad bar as well. It was done medium well as requested and was very juicy! Everything was good and of course after eating half of the salad I was full! My friend could not eat most of the burger and potato after those humongous salads! They have an ice cream station too but didn't try it ( too full! ). It's clean inside and I like the comfortable booth seating. The menu on the wall is easy to read while you are in line. They get really busy at lunch but food comes out promptly. The staff is friendly and professional. SPECIAL THANKS TO ALEJANDRA - she went above and beyond with great service! Great manager with a great attitude! I love Sizzler. As a child on special occasions my parents would take us to Sizzler in Napa. Now it seems they are far and few between. My son lives in Marysville and had visited the Sizzler in Yuba City and raved about it. So the next time I was in the area I decided I'd try it out. He was right. It's like a brand new restaurant. I mean, I guess I'm glad I went there when I was a child in the 80s and '90s, before I became vegetarian, as they still have yet modernize, and offer nothing vegetarian beyond some sides and dessert and salad, that you can get anywhere. I don't drive 45 minutes to go to a place where the only thing I can eat are sides and salad LOL thought it'd be cool going here as I haven't been to one in probably 20 to 25 years, but I've been a vegetarian since 1998 and figured in all this time they would obviously have lots of vegetarian options within and outside the buffet, but they don't. I would just have to settle like I do most places in this area, so it's a bummer, but oh well. I just thought maybe, a place with so many options, would actually know how to offer non-meat options, as it's really really easy to cook without meat even if you aren't vegetarian, it's very very simple, but this place doesn't have any creativity or desire, clearly so oh well read more
