Holy Overwhelmed. I walk into this store wanted a simple bottle of sake. It takes me about five minutes walking around and I finally have to ask someone where it is. I mean, I love a liquor store that packs a bargain, but is it really worth the bargain when you spend half an hour rounding up supplies for the weekend? Minus for me because they're cash only! Applejack has been around for as long as I can remember. There are so many options for various types of alcohol. You can take an hour to browse and I bet you won't see everything! It's nice that they've started taking credit cards. I would have given Applejack 5 stars, but their employees and their customer service leave something to be desired at times. read more

If this place let you pay with anything other than cash it might become paradise. The selection of... well everything ...is incredible. They have a huge selection of beer, including micro brew, as well as the largest selection of wine I've ever seen outside of a wine shop, and every brand of the hard stuff you could want. Huge selection! HUGE! Got a bottle of gin and their "gin guy" suggested something $6 cheaper considering we were mixing it, he wasn't wrong, and I'm thankful he saved me $ when he didn't have to. I noticed the prices were rather cheap, like $21.99 for a 1.75 Maker Mark with 2 dipped glasses. You can't get the bottle alone for that price at other places! Obviously, Applejack has put some major effort into their beer program since my last review. I have to give kudos here, because in my opinion, they have one of the most exciting beer selections in town at this point. The bomber and "specialty" beer selection is seriously fun to shop! We order alcohol from this location for a wedding. They helped us build our order based on how many people we had attending and how much we wanted to spend. It arrived on time and and in perfect shape. They also let us return any unopened alcohol for money back. We did have an issue getting in touch with the event coordinator leading up to the wedding which was a little stressful, but they got back to us and it all worked out in the end. read more

Bring a lunch, fill your Nalgene and take a hike around this place. A bazillion wines from everywhere, just about every beer you can think of, cans, bottles, growlers they got it. Great prices and friendly, helpful staff. They have suggested some great wines just from my vague description of tastes and likes. Bring you cash or check book (if you still have one) they don't take Credit Cards. Weekends are busy and its crazy before a big holiday but for the big stock up - this place rocks. Wine stacks for miles, a 'Great Wall' of tasty chilled beer, and excellent service complete with competitive prices. Hmmm I guess I can't pick a favorite between the Arg and AJ's...though I am a little closer to Wheat Ridge, so that's a plus. I can get my delicious seasonal Redhook kegs here for the same price AND they helped carry it out to my car and lift it into my trunk, a difficult task while not crushing my three dogs who were also residing there at the moment. It's an SUV so no animals were harmed. Also, kegs wear a seat belt while riding in my vehicle. Safety first! 30-pack of PBR cans for $16. Handle of Stoli for $25. Pint of whiskey for $10. Looks like I have a good weekend ahead of me, doesn't it! read more

I go here for one thing and one thing only: their scotch selection. My father is a HUGE scotch connoisseur...well, scotch snob. So for gifts, I love coming here. The guys truly know their stuff, and I have asked for advice and given them a few ideas of what Dad likes, and they got a recommendation spot on. Pricing is decent, but for the hard-to-find stuff with a salesman who smiles and knows their stuff, I like it. Bit out of my way, but I'll go here for the gifts. read more

High quantity, average prices, plenty of parking, adequate staff. I was annoyed that they only took cash and check for years, but now they take credit cards. Not worth a special trip from downtown, but a good place if you need some booze on the west side of town. read more

Tona of selection - actually, too much.. Bus stopped on our way to the ski resort and all of us grabbed a bunch. Good prices. I especially liked the make-your-own 6pack (although, had to do it twice because someone took mine that I left outside of the restroom). Really nice people here! They were really helpful when we needed something specific and had no idea where to look. It's big enough that they have what you're looking for (and several options of it!) but not so big you feel like you will disappear in there. Applejack's seems to have the best prices in town. I have not found another liquer store in the area with better prices on scotch. When they have an item on sale the prices are very low. The selection is amazing! They will ship to anywhere in the USA. If you are going to get trashed, shop here for sure! read more

Customer for 30 years. It has gone downhill since Al passed away. He had a special touch; whoever runs it now, doesn't. Fifteen minutes to purchase a six-pack of beer at 10AM. Two cashiers, one had no clue, the other with five in line. Manager was stacking boxes, Al would have opened a register and ran it himself. read more

Good selection, but not the best. Was in the store for 15 minutes, wandering aimlessly and no one offered to help (though they seemed obviously overstaffed as the cashiers clustered gossiping) Finally I asked but seemed to be bothersome to the employee so he just pointed in the general vicinity of the whisky which I sought. I guess I was most perturbed that I had to even ask in the first place because their aisle signage is the worst! There are some small directories but the aisles are not labeled with what they contain, only a number. This might be okay for a 4 aisle liquor store but there are more than 25 aisles here and it's too easy to get lost. Try Daveo on the North side. Better prices, better signage. read more

This place rocks! I miss living a block from Argonaut's, but AJ is a couple miles from my work so I get in here every now and then. Huge beer selection and a ton of wines! I have read some complaints that the product is all over the place without any rhyme or reason; Perhaps people are in such awe of the selection they lose their senses. It didn't take long to figure out. While most liquor stores order wines by either region or style, AJ is sorted a bit differently. The front of the store has random bottles with great sales. The rest of the wine in the store is sorted ALPHABETICALLY by brand name. If you're looking for a particular style and not so sure on the brand, I suggest downloading Hello Vino app. It lets you choose what you're making for dinner and gives you suggestions/brand names to consider. I can see this place being a bit out of the way for some if you don't live/work around here, but if you go hit the mountains often know that this place is 1 block south of I-70. Not a bad 5 minute pit stop coming back from skiing. read more

Huge selection of drinks. There wine selection is massive and they also have a decent Mead selection. People say it is kinda pricey but I think there prices seem about the same as most other places, but they have a bigger selection. The only complaint I have is the parking lot can get kinda crazy. read more
