We hired Jeff from JJ's Appliance Repair to repair our dishwasher. He examined the dishwasher and…read moreindicated it was likely a power surge had affected the control board, and it would need to be replaced, to the tune of $490. He ordered the part and came back several days later to install. After installing, he started the dishwasher, but must have only run it a couple minutes before leaving. Shortly after, I try to run, and get the exact same error as before the repair. I try to catch him, but he "can't come back" because he's only the way to another call. So I have to wait a couple more days before he returns. He then says there is a separate issue with the heating element (which he didn't find day 1). He now indicates that there is only a 50/50 shot that it will be fixed if we replace that. So we decide to get a new dishwasher. Jeff promises to refund us the cost of the control board, but that we just needed to pay the service charge. In addition, he offers to install the new dishwasher for free. So we order the new dishwasher, and schedule Jeff to install. He arrives with a refund check for the control panel, as promised, stating he is a "man of his word". He installs the new dishwasher, lets it run a few minutes, and then leaves saying we need to run it all the way through. 10 minutes later, it stops with an error code. I call him to come back, but he refuses again stating he has to be in R.I.. So we have to wait to the following week for him to come out to fix the problem (after first telling us the manufacturer would have to repair it... I called, they confirmed it was an install issue, and not their problem.). Meanwhile, I deposited the refund check. Jeff returns and fixes what was a kinked drain hose. I made sure it ran long enough before he left this time. NOW, several days pass, and I go to my bank account online to find that Jeff stopped payment on the refund check that I had deposited!!! I've tried to contact him numerous times to no avail. So much for him being a "man of his word". So, it took well over a month to resolve my dishwasher issues... this should have been handled in a couple of weeks at most. And... he broke his promise to refund for the part that may or may not have been needed. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!
