Frank had me put a deposit of just over $400 for a dishwasher part that he diagnosed was the problem. When the problem ended up being a bad breaker, he avoided my calls when I asked for a refund, minus a restocking fee, even though he never had installed the part. Frank has been to our house several times and done Work. He came to our house on December 3 to fix our oven and said he needed to order a part. He said I had to pay for the part ahead of time. I wrote him a check for almost $600 and soon after, he completely stopped responding to my messages. His last response was Jan 2nd letting us know he couldn't get the part and they were refunding our money. We have asked him for our money back but he will not respond to us. We even offered for him to pay us back slowly. It's really unfortunate when someone with what appears to be a good business, would do something like this and jeopardize it all. Please be aware that he is not trustworthy. This wouldn't be a person I would Trust in my home. read more

I can't speak on how good he is at repairing appliances, but I can say he has no clue on how to test your items after having a flood. He was well out of his league, but unfortunately he was the only company I could find at the time. My house flooded due to a broken pipe and they required me to find my own company to look at all my personal items before they would look at my claim. I tried for 2 months and no luck anywhere. I finally decided to try Angie or Angies List as it was known for years. Upon doing so, I received a response from Southcoast. He was quick to call and showed up as scheduled, I'm thinking great, finally i can get this done. He shows up with no tools and an attitude like no other. I happened to be on the phone with my private adjuster whom was handling my claim. I was talking to him on speaker so he could hear, as this is my life and my house is destroyed. My adjuster said to have him check some certain things. His response was (with a huge attitude) "I know what I'm doing, I've been doing this a long time." This coming from a guy that shows up to test appliances with no tools. He proceeds to walk through my home and look at things. He simply plugs in my dryer and turns it on, he then says "that works" he proceeded to do this to about 7 other appliances. He did not open anything up and check for mold and any other internal damage. I asked him about my electric fireplace, Tv's and a few other items, he responded, " I don't test those". After he was done, turning things on and off I asked him for the report so I could send to my insurance company. He said he would send it. I never received any report. I reached out a few times and he said he would send it, never did and stopped responding. So $200 was stolen from me, since he was an absolute joke and did not fulfil his obligation. I was able to find another company thanks to my adjuster. They weren't able to get out right away, as they are extremely busy. We scheduled and they showed as promised. The tech walked in with 2 bags of tools and said he would be right back, he had to run out to get another bag. I showed him around and he said it would take him about 3 hours,(not 15 minutes like the joker that first came out) to thoroughly test everything. He disassembled every item and inspected them. He pointed out damage on items that Southcoast said was fine. I had 2 dehumidifiers that were totally drenched from the flood, he had told me not to turn them on as there could now be mold in there and they could blow the mold through the air, he said dispose of them as they can't be fixed. I told him Southcoast said they were fine. He proceeded to chuckle and said he had heard other not so good comments on that company. All in all, this guy stole $200 from me, I'm going to submit the payment I made to the insurance company. My adjuster told me since they already paid for the inspection to the other company that will question this one. They will have to pay me since they made me find the company. He said they will most likely go after Southcoast for the money. If you are in need of a repair for an appliance, I can't say if it would be good or bad, but based on my experience he probably doesn't know what he is doing, but that is just my opinion based on my experience. Approximately 3-4 months ago we were led here due to the fact that no one else fixes Samsung washers. They came out quickly and "diagnosed" the issue charging us $150 just to show up. Parts had to be ordered and would take several days at an additional cost of $325. We agreed as the washer is relatively new and apparently it was a "flaw" that Samsung new about with the tension rods. Anyway parts came in , washer repaired at a total of $475. Fast forward 3-4 months problem arises AGAIN. I call and I'm told that I wouldn't be charged for the labor but had to be charged for the parts again. During this time I find out from a co-worker that I could order the high tension rods from Amazon for $45!!! Because he has the same issue and the do it yourself fix was extremely easy and posted on YouTube. I ordered the parts, pulled up the video and swapped out all four "new springs" that had been allegedly replaced before. Due the fact that the new springs I ordered were specifically color coded it was easy to determine that only two of the original ones had been replaced the first time even though we were charged for four! The whole process took about thirty minutes to do myself like I said for $45. To say we got FLEECED is an understatement and I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE... total RIP OFF and they should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of hard working people. read more

Frank responded to my inquiry on Yelp the day I posted it and called me the same day for a consultation. Frank even worked on Sunday a day he doesn't work to come look at my refrigerator and see if he could fix it as the fridge and freezer was not cold. On Sunday he looked at my fridge and told me the issue, explained the reasoning behind the issue and even gave me a temporary fix until he could get the part on Monday and install it. Monday came and Frank arrived with the part ready to install. Explained how the temporary fix of the timer for the frost and defrost did not make our fridge cold. He installed the timer that was broken and stated if by the next morning the freezer and fridge was not cold than it was a bigger issue and will cost even more to fix it. My family and I decided to get rid of our old fridge since the refrigerator was 10 years old and potentially had more problems then we thought so be bought a new one. Even though we choose to get a new one, Frank was professional, on time, and explained everything and even showed me what the issues was. Frank charged for the diagnostic and labor and then the part. Frank went above and beyond to deliver, and meet our expectations. I highly recommend South Coast Appliance Repair! read more
