Unfortunately, our experience with the refrigerator has been nothing short of a nightmare. In the three years we've owned it, the refrigerator has completely gone out three times. In over 40 years of homeownership, I've never had a refrigerator go out--let alone need servicing--until this one. It's clear this particular unit is a lemon, yet Ferguson has not stood behind the product they sold us. To make matters worse, there are no GE service technicians in Lubbock, TX. Service must be scheduled through Houston, and the earliest appointments are typically two weeks out. Today, after clearing my entire schedule to accommodate their 8 AM-5 PM service window, the appointment was canceled at the last minute. The first time the refrigerator failed, we were without it for eight weeks due to similar delays and lack of support. We've tried to speak with someone directly, but it's nearly impossible. Ferguson's response has been that their "hands are tied" because this is a GE issue. But their hands--and certainly not their pockets--weren't tied when we spent a significant amount of money with them. We're incredibly disappointed in both the product and the lack of accountability. This is not the level of service we expected from a company like Ferguson.

I went to the Customer Service desk to request a price match for a freezer. The female employee who assisted me appeared unwilling to help from the beginning. When I tried to explain my request, she acted as though she could not understand what I was saying. I even opened Home Depot's official Price Match Policy on my phone and showed it to her directly, but she still refused to assist me and told me that she did not know about the price match policy, despite the fact that I had the policy right in front of her. I do not remember her name. She was a shorter, older white woman. What was most upsetting was not simply that my price match request was initially denied, but the way I felt I was treated and spoken to as a customer. As an Asian customer, the interaction left me feeling that I was not being treated with the same level of respect and willingness to help that I would reasonably expect from a customer service employee. Eventually, I asked to speak with a manager. Diego then assisted me and resolved the issue very quickly without any problem. I sincerely appreciate Diego's professionalism and willingness to help. I hope Home Depot will review what happened and consider whether its employees are receiving adequate training on both company policies and customer service. More importantly, employees at the Customer Service desk should treat every customer with patience, respect, and professionalism, regardless of their race, ethnicity, accent, or ability to communicate perfectly in English. I am not making a definitive accusation of discrimination, because I cannot know the employee's intentions. However, the way I was treated made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected, and I believe Home Depot should take this concern seriously and look into the situation.

The store is not always clearly marked, but it is fairly organized. You can usually tell what section you are in, whether it is toys, automotive, home goods, or something else, which makes it pretty easy to figure out if they have what you are looking for. That said, customer service has not been a strong point in my experience. The employees are not usually very helpful, but most of the time that is not a major issue because the store is easy enough to shop on your own. The only significant problem I have had involved my grandmother. She walked behind the counter area to look at some Christmas bags that were displayed back there. For context, this location has several registers, there was no clear sign or barrier indicating customers could not step into that area, and there was merchandise displayed on the wall behind the counter. It seemed like an easy and understandable mistake. Instead of simply explaining the policy respectfully, the cashier was dismissive and unprofessional. My grandmother explained that she was only trying to pick out the bags she wanted to purchase so she would not have to describe 15 different bags to someone who would then have to walk back and grab them. The cashier called a manager over, and my grandmother said she would wait for the second cashier to open because of how she was being treated. The employee then continued making unnecessary remarks. Overall, I still like Ollie's and will continue shopping there for the deals, but the customer service could definitely use improvement. A simple misunderstanding should have been handled with basic professionalism and respect, especially toward an older customer
