He had all kinds of pieces laying on the floor and he diagnosed it as the drain line being frozen up, not clogged. He was able to get it back together and working again, even less than an hour. part of the problem is we had the temperature set too low. We were very impressed.

Less than six months later, the replacement ice maker failed because of defective internal gearing. The part itself was covered under the manufacturer's warranty, and once again the technician completed the repair in less than 15 minutes. My issue isn't with the technicians or the quality of their service--it was with Duncan's billing policy. I was charged $289 for what amounted to a quick replacement of a warranty part that was known to be defective. While the manufacturer covered the replacement part, Duncan only warranties its labor for 90 days. After that, customers are responsible for the full labor charge, even when the failure is caused by a defective part that Duncan installed. In many cases, service companies can seek reimbursement from the manufacturer for warranty labor, yet I was still billed the full amount. I understand that businesses have overhead, technicians deserve to be paid, and service calls cost money. I was prepared to pay a fair and reasonable charge. However, $289 for a 15-minute repair on a warranty replacement part that failed in less than six months feels excessive. What was most disappointing was the lack of willingness to discuss or reconsider the charge when I raised my concerns. A little flexibility or customer goodwill would have gone a long way. Based on this experience, I will not be using Duncan again. If you're considering them, be aware that while they stand behind their labor for only 90 days, you may still face significant labor charges if a replacement part fails shortly after that period.

He went by and gave me a quote of 695 dollars to fix it. Said I had to pay in advance because he had to buy parts and there is no refund. So I paid him and when we initially talked he said about 2 weeks parts will be in and we'd be in touch. 2 weeks I reach out he said he hadn't heard anything yet. Month goes by I again reach out again says only half the parts have came in but he will check. 6 weeks goes by I reach out, just waiting on 1 valve he says. Then he ghosts me for months at a time says "I'm on vacation I'll check when I get back" 78 days after I paid him he says "Yes, I will be refunding your money back. Because I checked with the warehouse and they ordered the wrong parts. I apologize for all the delay in hassle you had to go through." I have requested through Venmo from him multiple times with no response. That was 14 days ago and he hasn't responded to any of my text. I have been very respectful and just want my money back for services not rendered.

I called All Appliance Parts and they had one in stock for $59. He said to bring in my old pump to test it. He said he didn't want to sell me something that I didn't need. I reached out to Speedway Appliance Services in Speedway, IN. They said they could come out that night (Awesome right??). The repairman (Albert) comes out, but he has to consult with the owner, Alan. They determine the pumps are bad, and they need to order the new parts (this was Thursday), the parts would take a couple days, they should be here Monday or maybe Tuesday (that's fine). Monday I reach out via txt, asking him if it would be fixed today, Alan txt back telling me no the part didn't come in, it should be tomorrow (ok, no problem). Tuesday he called telling me they sent him the wrong part and they'll have to send another one, which I said ok (after all, what else could I do, my washer was taken apart and pieces everywhere, see pictures), after a couple minutes of Alan telling me he's making nothing off of this job and how he's doing me a favor (both statements his words, not mine) he asked if I wanted them to overnight it, I asked how much, he said $50, I initially said ok, then proceeded to ask what the normal timeline was for shipping, he said 90% of the time it's 2 days, I said ok, and as I'm a little frustrated and trying to figure out the timeline (it's now Tuesday, and we'd be looking at around Thursday or Friday) and about to say nevermind on the overnight, he starts fussing about did I hear him say 90% of the time, and again about how he's going out of his way to help me, and he's doing me a favor by fitting me in and he doesn't have to fix it, and how I can go find someone else to fix it, then proceeds to hang up on me (WTF???).
