However, once we ran the dryer, it emitted a burning smell and failed to dry clothes, even though it was running. We reached out to him again, and he agreed to take another look. This time, he said the motor assembly needed to be replaced and quoted an additional $400. He claimed that the replacement pulley caused the motor to fail due to a bent vent behind the dryer that restricted airflow, leading to damage of greased parts. While I understand that external issues like poor ventilation can cause stress on dryer components, I'm disappointed this wasn't identified during the initial visit. A thorough inspection should have revealed the vent issue before we spent money on parts and repairs. At this point, I'm not sure if the initial repair helped or made things worse. At 3:52 PM, after receiving no call or update, I contacted Frigidaire because it had become clear that no one was going to show up. During that conversation, I was told Texas True Appliance Repair had called and texted me. The only communication I received was the original appointment confirmation text. There were no missed calls, voicemails, or additional messages. No service was performed, and my time was wasted waiting for an appointment that never occurred. I hope Electrolux and Frigidaire reevaluate their partnership with this service provider, as this experience fell well short of reasonable customer service expectations.
