I requested a technician to stop by and check my oxygen concentrator, I was told one would be there this past Thursday... No show It is Saturday now and my oxygen concentrator is malfunctioning. Calling Apria after hours care, all I hear is the info loop over music on hold, over and over again. On hold now for 17 minutes. I understand that Apria is currently in an ongoing fraud case in California, looks like they've hoisted the white flag. Meanwhile, I have to wait until Monday for any kind of response. Such a fall from grace, initially they were extremely good at providing equipment as needed, now not so much. read more

Wow, I don't know where to start. My doctor suggested a CPAP machine and after trying it I decided to return it. They first asked me to drive 1.5 hours to drop off as their only option. When I said that wasn't feasible, they said they'd pick it up but failed to show 2 times without a call. Then I got a letter saying they would charge me if I didn't return. We got a bill today saying we owed back rent on a wheelchair but we never signed a contract or even knew we were renting! My wife was in the hospital and I got a call that they were discharging her suddenly and she needed to buy a wheelchair. I gave the nurse my credit card information and we got the wheelchair. Four months later we get this bill. Yet we never were given a contract or a manual ( which they charged us for too!). read more

The Monterey, California, branch customer service is horrible. They shipped me a new machine BUT the wrong user guide. I notified them by phone several times, requesting they mail me the correct user guide. They have not shipped the correct user guide and have not returned my phone calls. This is the worst company we have ever dealt with. Two years after disenrolling and returning equipment, we are still being bills for services never provided. We have been sent to collections twice in the past two years, even after having received a REFUND check from Apria. As I write this, I've been on the phone with Apria for almost two hours, mostly on hold, while the "supervisor" helps "another patient". I will wait as long as it takes to get this settled... but you should avoid having anything to do with this company. read more

I have been in Monterey since October 2020. I tried to get sleep apnea support in order to get a replacement CPAP machine as mine was purchased in 2013. My doctor prescribed a new machine and gave me the reference to this company with a prescription. This is nothing but a horror story. In spite of me contacting their rep I have had no resolution. 18 months! I want a good nights sleep! read more

My CPAP machine was recalled and replaced by Philllips. Phillips sent the replacement with no additional supplies. Apria as the provider didn't send additional supplies. The machine reports the filters need changing. I tried to call the local branch of Apria and the phone shunted to the 877 number, After 35 minutes on hold the agent shunted me to another number for an additional 20 minutes. The agent in the Supply department informed that an order was in process to ship soon. They couldn't tell me when. An hour of time and no positive result. What a poor system. read more

We have been out of oxygen for days. we call constantly & can't get anyone on the line. ordering supplies is a nightmare very slow moving no call backs. When we order a simple probe they deliver a whole extra ox/ hr rate monitor with a probe. of course they are charging our insurance for a second ox monitor when all we needed was a replacement probe. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Almost hard to believe how evil and corrupt. I only gave them a star so I could post my review. Avoid giving them your credit card at all costs! I had to pay a co pay fir a CPAP which was done mostly in one payment but they said there would be two more payments of a smaller amount for the next couple of months. Everything had been paid for as agreed then almost a year later with no warning they charged an unauthorized unexplained $700 on my credit card that they had on file. Now canceled so they can't do it again. I have called and get a different person every time and none will give their full name and none can explain why I was charged? They say they will check into it and that's it. You never hear from them again. Definitely something illegal and immoral going on with this whole company. Try and find a good review. You won't. NEVER do business with them. They are taking advantage of the sick and elderly and should be shut down and whoever is running this unethical and evil company should be in jail read more

All Apria's 800 phone number menus are in a loop and you are never able, unless you get really, really lucky, to press a "magic" option number button. After a two day attempt to actually getting a live person, only one out of three, had a clue. With three, after pleading not to, I got sent back to the endless menu loop. This is the worst excuse of a company I have ever delt with, and if you read the other reviews, there are many who feel the same way. My husband was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea IN early DECEMBER and we have been waiting to get a CPAP machine from Apria since then and it's almost February. From the telephone "customer service" where you can't even understand the outsourced person, to trying to pickup his machine today and the man refusing to give my husband the machine. Seriously, I realize that all of you are going to Apria ONLY because of insurance and you were referred by your MD. But honestly don't waste your time. You'll never get your machine. My husband's machine was sitting right in front of us and the guy refused to give it to us... The reason he said was we didn't have an appointment with the respiratory therapist today. Although we did have an appointment today which was confirmed yesterday over the phone and we also spoke with a supervisor over the phone minutes before parking in their lot. Be warned... It's not worth your time and you are better off dying of sleep apnea than a freakin heart attack or stroke during your confrontation. read more

I ended services with this company well over two years ago, and I continued getting phone calls from them constantly over and over again saying that I am due for supplies. I kept telling them that I am no longer with this company, and I made sure that there is no outstanding charges each time they called. Then I get a letter in the mail saying that I owe $300 for something three years ago. This is after I already got confirmation that I didn't owe them anything when I tried to discontinue services with them well over a year ago. When I called about it, they said I owed $190 instead and that it is not $300. This company should be sued. There is no way this is legal. read more

We were on vacation in Carmel and my husband who uses a CPAP machine accidentally left the silicone gasket for the humidifier at home when he was cleaning it. we tried to get oxygen services from you people. no one on your end followed through. it was urgent and we did not want to go to the E.R. due to covid 19. we called numerous times and received no return calls. we picked up your test monitors on a thursday as you never arranged to have your staff deliver and pick it up. we, ourselves, returned the monitors before you even opened to give you time to process what was needed. on friday afternoon we knew that we could not count on you so we contacted elsewhere and had our machine delivered friday nite by messenger. people on your end just didn't follow through, after being told how urgent it was to have the machine for the weekend. read more

Do not give Apria your credit card number! They will charge you countless times for things they say are free and who knows what else. My experience with Apria started with getting sent to Santa Cruz for an appointment that apparently didn't exist. I arrived at a locked medical building and found out they rent out a conference room there, but the Apria representative wasn't going to be there. At best, Apria is a business, not a medical care provider. At worst, they are scammers. My next step is spending hours on hold to try and figure out why they keep taking money from my checking account. read more

When you call the local phone number it auto transfers you to the company 800#. I went to pick up my new CPAP machine(drove 80 miles roundtrip) when I got it home there was no power cord. If there is ever a company that has the WORST customer service, this is the one! I have been trying to get some equipment from this company for over 6 weeks now. I have written to the President of the Company, Chris B. and as of today, no response from him. As a matter of fact, every time I call in to see what the status of my prescription, they always say they are going to send me up to the next level to get resolve. When they do, I get no response for a week or so, until I call back in to see the status. Then they escalate again. This has happened several times now. I even faxed in my prescription twice now to the 800 number and still nothing. How this company stays in business with their customer service is beyond me. I am at a loss as to the next steps, since I have already sent a letter to the President. Maybe I should send this information to the investors of Apria and see what they think. My recommendation is to not deal with this company on any level. I am sure there are employees who take pride in their work, but so far, I have been in correspondence with 5 people and I have not gotten any resolve. read more

For some reason, health providers like mine (PAMF) have locked in with these idiots at Apria Healthcare to service their patients for after care. There is something seriously wrong with the lack of competitors in this field which leads a company like Apria to continue thriving despite such poor service. I have never seen so many rude and incompetent people gathered into one company as Apria. The best thing we can do is encourage our health providers to seek alternative after care services. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My doctor prescribed a tens unit, and somehow Apria got my insurance to pay $28 a month for the rental of it -- "whatever, at least it's covered," I thought. But wait! Then, my insurance changed, so now I'm saddled with three months of "rental" payments. It was completely unclear that this was a rental to begin with -- why? Because the monthly payment is nearly the price of the entire unit! My old health insurance should have saved themselves some money and purchased the unit for $40 online. Instead, they paid $28 a month for 9 months, and now I'm saddled with an $84 bill for the remainder! Not to mention it was difficult to get delivered in the first place. Save yourself the headache, do a little research, and look at buying whatever you need yourself -- or ask your insurance if you can save them some money and purchase it on their behalf with a reimbursement. I was ordered a CPAP machine for sleep apnea and after 2months I decided I could not acclimate to the machine. I called Apria in Monterey and told them I wanted to return the machine, and they told me they would send a label and shipping material to my home for return of the machine. After several weeks without anything from Apria, I called again and this time the customer service representative told me he would send a FedEx driver to pick-up my CPAP machine, all I needed to do was leave it in a box on the porch. Several weeks later, I received a letter from Apria stating that I needed to pay my monthly dues on the CPAP machine, I thought this was odd because they were automatically deducting the charges previously. I called Apria and told them I no longer had the machine and they told me to discard the letter, that everything was fine. I returned the CPAP machine at the end of January and as I was checking my credit card statement for March, I noticed Apria charged my credit card $848.68 for the CPAP machine and the very same day I received an invoice from Apria stating I needed to pay the amount they had just charged me for a machine I no longer had in my possession! I tried to call April for one solid week, and no one would answer the phone, - I have a full time job and cannot sit on the phone for an hour waiting! Their answering line does state "your wait is 78 minutes or 90 minutes" - it's crazy! I finally decided to call the Sleep Center for help in reaching Apria and in the meantime I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. The MA at the Sleep Center waited on the line for 45 minutes and was able to put me in contact with Apria who told me they had sent me to collections! So, they billed me, charged me and sent me to collections for the same charge! I told the customers service representative to check their files as I had returned the equipment and she responded, "oh yeah, I see that" but I don't see that we have charged you for anything. She then went on to tell me if charge posted she would refund the amount. Later that week, I received a collection notice from State Collection Service. So now I am emailing and faxing paperwork to both my credit card company and the State Collection Service to prove I do not have the CPAP machine and it has been returned. From the time the CPAP machine was returned at the end of January until late April is finally when this matter was resolved (I hope) but not without a multitude of calls and paperwork, faxes, and emails. Apria is a nightmare - I'd rather take my chances with sleep apnea! read more

I don't understand why Apria has gotten such bad reviews....I have had great service from them! I was a little paranoid from reading the reviews and almost drove way out of my way to get my CPAP equipment from another company over an hour away, but I'm so glad I just went with Apria. The initial communication is done on the phone and computer and maybe my only complaint is that the representatives on the phone were a little hard to understand because most of them seem to have foreign accents, however, they all were all helpful enough (I just had to ask them to repeat some things sometimes). All the equipment came on time and all my questions have been answered. The best part though is the local CPAP technician in Monterey at their Ryan Ranch facility. I should have written her name down, but I think it was Carrol. Anyways, after struggling with my nose pillow and wanting to try one of the full face masks to see if it would help with my dry mouth, I easily made an appointment (within 2 days of my call) and she was soooo helpful and knowledgeable. One thing to remember is there is a 30 day period if you want to change your mask. I remember reading it somewhere in the contract, but I had forgotten about that.....luckily I called within the 30 day period. So don't be discourage about the other reviews..... getting used to your equipment is challenging but the service I've received with Apria so far has been really very good. read more

I stopped by to pick up my cpap equipment at 11:30 am. The man was very sweet and tried to be helpful in finding my equipment. He had to take it to another staff member to do something with it before I could take it. Out of the back room comes a gray blonde 50 something woman in a scrub outfit who looked as if she had just been awakened. Her hair wasn't combed and she truly looked like a homeless person. I was so taken aback with her appearance I just kept staring as she handed me the kit and asked me to sign the pink sheet. I asked if anyone was going to instruct me in how to use the machine and how to put the mask on properly. She responded that "there is a DVD in there" and call back if you have any questions." I still haven't tried the machine to help me sleep because I'm staying awake thinking about how desheveled and unprofessional this person was. The ironic thing is they have an award in the lobby for "Most Improved " Apria office in 2003. If this is the improved version I wonder how it was before 2003?! read more

i was hospitalized for severe bronchitis and upon discharge (after 3 days) was advised i would need to continue with breathing treatments in order for my lungs to heal. the doctor/rn recommended "apria healthcare" for me to obtain my medical device. i was advised by the hospital medical staff that apria would deliver the breathing machine to my home the next morning. i waited all day no delivery, no call, no nothing!! i called apria the next morning and was on eternal "hold" for 2:04:53 with never a "please hold" from a live body, only a recording advising someone will be with you in a moment!!! my sister, called from her phone to another apria number, spoke with an agent gave her all of my information 3 times as she stated their computer had to update and lost the data. the agent advised that she would call back shortly to set up delivery of the breathing machine. may i add as of this writing there has been no call back nor delivery of needed breathing machine and this call took 56 minutes. this showed me how unprofessional, we could careless, just sad demeanor of apria healthcare teammates. the bad part is that this is one of the largest medical device providers on the west coast and they have such a go-to-hell attitude. the good thing is there are other providers who would love to take care of my medical needs and help me stay healthy. therefore, if i can get my insurance accepted by another provider i will not use this company. all i can say is, "be aware"!!!! read more
