Was told on the phone my order could be picked up. When I went to pick up the order I was told that half of it was actually out of stock. Why tell me my order was ready in the first place? Incompetence writ large. My orthopedist told me to stay off my knee. They ordered a walker with two arm rests. It took multiple calls and multiple weeks for Apria to bring just the walker. I have bad thumb joints so can't use a walker. I called and time and time again was promised a delivery that never arrived, arrived on the wrong day, or was the wrong item. After a month, they brought one arm rest. I made MANY more calls, and Apria broke every promise. Today after 6 weeks, out of the blue, they brought the second arm rest. I don't understand the directions for putting it together, but I guess that's my tough luck. read more

Steer clear of this company if you can! I wish I had read the litany of negative reviews of the Apria Seattle/Redmond location beforehand, because I might have spared myself much frustration. This vendor's biggest shortcomings are disorganization and poor communication. My order for a rental hospital bed took more than 3 weeks to arrive because minor hiccups in the insurance documentation were not proactively addressed. Then the first delivery attempt came unannounced long after dark on a Saturday night when the memory care residents were already asleep. When the hospital bed was no longer needed some months later, it took more than three contacts to arrange pick up. After 4 separate phone calls over the past 2 months to Insurance/Billing, to have my new insurance policy put in their system, I needed to have my medical insurer, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, make contact with Apria. They assured him they do have the correct information, and that it could take 30-45 days to verify with their "Insurance Investigation Team". I commented to BC/BS rep, "Do you see what I'm dealing with?". He replied, "Oh yes, it's clear." Egads. read more

When I ordered replacement supplies for my C-Pap machine the whole order was incorrect when it arrived. I had to send back and wait for the correct replacements to come. Everything came except one item that they never told me was on backorder. All my supplies came on different days instead of all in one order. I have called, sent messages and letters for this past year, a couple of times they scheduled a time to pick the equipment up, but never came. Now they have sent the bill to a collection agency, and I am up for almost $100 for equipment I never authorized, never needed and never used! read more

They dumped off an O2 concentrator with no instructions. A portable was prescribed, but nothing has been done to deliver it. It's been over 2 weeks as I struggle to breathe (not from smoking btw). This was one of the worst experiences I have had. My husband was in hospice. Delivery of equipment: (1) called me at 10 pm to let me know the they were 30 minutes away. Because of the lateness asked to have delivered next morning, driver agreed. They were a no show. Finally delivered late afternoon, no phone call. Delivered wheelchair without leg or foot supports, could not use. Called back, never delivered. Delivery of hospital bed, no warning -- late delivery. That driver was very apologetic but not his fault. After my husband's death, pick up of hospital bed, again no phone call to let me know they were coming. When I called to complain customer service was not in least sympathetic. It's disgusting to look back on this experience. This is how it went down. Doctors: Your CPAP machine gave you carbon dioxide poisoning. You almost died. 1st Apria tech: We cleaned your machine for you! It's fine now! Me (tries it): No, it's still not working right. I can tell! 2nd Apria tech: There's gunk growing in it. Me: I demand a NEW machine! Evidently I have to pay for it even tho the first one almost killed me. Insurance paid for a portion so I had to stay with Apria. This week they've been calling me every day for a bill that ISN'T EVEN DUE YET. The bill isn't due for 2 more days. But they've been calling all week. For a $39 bill. This company charged my credit card for all their charges this year and last, but all the charges, minus 20 percent, were completely paid for by my Medicare Advantage Plan. You get no bills directly from Apria, only non-detailed statements. Their customer service is the worst, being on hold for very long wait times and then getting someone talking with you who is clueless to resolve your problem. I paid them for bills I didn't owe. They won't refund the money I didn't owe. I am going to report them for fraud. I wouldn't do business with this company. read more

My husband recently received a prescription for a knee scooter a week before foot surgery. He checked on the medicare.gov site for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers who provide scooters under Medicare near our zip code. Apria Healthcare was listed. When he called Apria, they indicated they needed us to fax the prescription and his Medicare and secondary insurance company information. They said they also needed something faxed from the surgeon. We faxed what they requested and contacted my surgeon's office. The surgeon's office faxed the information to Apria the same day but noted that most DME providers did not require what they sought. We called Apria every business day thereafter for status, but they indicated they were processing the Medicare approval. The day before the surgery I called again and explained I would need the scooter the next day. A pleasant person called back and said she would do what she could, but we didn't her back. We gave up on them. Then about 10 days later (long after the surgery and we found another solution), Apria phoned indicating they could not provide the scooter under Medicare. We then contacted Medicare to suggest they update their provider list to note the apparent error about what Apria would provide. The Medicare representative indicated that the DME suppliers maintain their own data in the Medicare system. We understand and accept that a doctor or company may elect to not be a Medicare provider. But they should not indicate that they will provide certain DME under Medicare, and then not honor that. To us, this seemed like bait and switch. We needed the scooter in a few days, and it felt like they were slow walking us, probably assuming that we would just rent the scooter from them outside of insurance. In the end, Apria wasted our time, the surgeon's office time, the Medicare representative's time, and their own time by not correctly maintaining their information on medicare.gov or, if nothing else, indicating during our first inquiry that they would simply not provide the equipment under Medicare. read more

Kudos to Maria at the Redmond office. My CPAP order seemed to be lost. The doctor had ordered it, but my insurance didn't know anything about it, nor was the order with Apria through my insurance, but this just seemed wrong. I explained to Maria that I had switched insurance and she was able to find my CPAP order - it had been sent to the old expired insurance (of course!). She expedited my order to have it assigned to my new insurance. I go pick up the machine today! Without her help I'd still be looking for it. Thank you Maria! read more

Should be a 0 star. Customer service is horrid. It's been over a week now with a defective APAP machine. I've called to report it 3 times to Apria and have been told 3 different times I would receive a call back. No hope in sight. Looks like their head quarters are within a 25 mins drive. I can't wait to see their faces when I show up to hand deliver their junk. When you call they claim they will transfer you to the CPAP department, it's a lie. They just put you on hold for 5-10 mins then transfer you back to the start of their automated system. On top of that they don't even do any quality assurance or quality control of their products so I'm sure many will face defective models. read more

Awful experience with this company. Got stuck with a bill that we can't afford for equipment that was still sealed in the box that we returned. Not to mention my daughter is now without the equipment because we were told that it was covered when it clearly was not. Kaiser and Apria unwilling to correct this. Money out of my daughters needs for extremely complex medical syndrome, so wrong. Customer service and billing department EXTREMELY RUDE. I've been helping my father with getting a new bipap machine, and was initially told it was going to be several weeks to get his prescription into the system and verify insurance. I talked to Maria and told her that it was somewhat urgent due to a medical condition, and was very pleasantly surprised when she called me back personally within 48 hours with all of the paperwork emailed to be approved, and within 24 hours of signing the paperwork the new machine was on his doorstep. Maria did a great job of communicating the process, calling, and following through and after reading a ton of lousy reviews about Apria I was very pleasantly surprised at such good service. I called December 21st to place a supply order before my insurance canceled on January 1st and no one called me until the 4th of January.
