As always, Apropos did a wonderful job in making a beautiful floral arrangement for my moms birthday. I went in with a blue mason jar and asked the lady for something very simple, and soft to compliment the jar. I only threw out a couple of suggestions and she came back with a beautiful, sweet arrangement. The pink and white colors were perfect with the mason jar and with the packaging of my moms gift. Apropos never fails, they are very professional, and skilled at making floral arrangements. This is one of those floral shops where you can pretty much give them a theme and say "work your magic" and they will present you with an arrangement that exceeds expectations. He and his staff went over the top on creating beautiful floral arrangements and a spectacular chupah for my sons wedding this past weekend! Absolutely mind blowing, gorgeous...stunning and really fresh flowers! I ordered the "traditional white" from Apropos's website in the evening to be delivered the following day, hoping the short notice wouldn't affect quality. I'm not sure if they are a third party and connect with local florists- I do not know and did not deal with anyone directly- all I know is that the product was beyond expectations. I did receive an email when the flowers were delivered which was great. The delivery time was perfect. The price wasn't even that bad and the vase was beautiful. The discerning recipient was impressed and comforted. I can't say enough good things. I feel like I got a superior product to the option offered on the website. The Casablancas were open and stunning, and there were soft hydrangeas and blush roses which removed any austerity; considering this was a sympathy occasion the softness was a lovely reminder to celebrate the lost life. read more

I wanted a pick me up, And was going to try a place that's more local to me. I called Apropos, on Advice of a friend, and asked for "dynamic, airy, open arrangement for a table, with tropical flowers, please don't add greens". While The flowers themselves are nice, what I got was something that yes, could go on a table, as long as it was *against a wall* as there is clearly a front and a back side of this arrangement. In addition, it is very closed, compressed and something I would expect to see at a hotel lobby. Even my husband, who doesn't usually comment about flowers, said the same thing. Not really happy with this. Especially since I tried specifically indicating my request as the flowers were for me. As far as a "pick me up", they were kind of a pick me up -sideways or maybe even "pick me down". I kind of try to avoid looking at it, As I am disappointed. Spent a fair amount so to go elsewhere to order a flower arrangement now is silly. Maybe I can give them away and buy myself Another arrangement from my florist of choice. 3 days later: 1 of 3 cut anthuriums fell off; the other 2 are already faded. 1 of 4 dendrobium stems are dying, had to trim multiple drooping flowers off the remaining stems. Had to take apart arrangement, and had to throw most away, as other flowers/greens were dying. At this rate, I'll be ready to buy myself more flowers by next week, easy. read more

AWFUL. A few months ago I came here to pick up an orchid for my office. Not only did the woman working try to sell me 50 other things, she didn't listen when I told her exactly what I wanted. Now, after few weeks of this orchid's visual decline, I removed all the disgusting moss she packed into the top of it to see what was going on. This was the most poorly potted plant I've ever seen. The bottom is rotting because there was no drainage whatsoever. From now on I will be inspecting the planting of anything I buy (even though I will never come back here), just to be safe. I shouldn't have to do this when I buy directly from a flower shop, but I will anyway. If you're going to charge people stupid amounts of money for an orchid that anyone could buy for $10--20 (in a healthier state!!) from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods or any plant nursery in LA, you had better be offering this orchid to me in a healthy, well-potted, well-drained state. Apropos did none of those things. On top of all that, while I waited for her to pot my plant, she let me stand at the counter for 15 MINUTES while she had a casual phone conversation. Service was great, the shop has a good selection of flowers and they were quick and prompt.

The flower arrangement I got from them was not only over-priced, it was mediocre. And not only was the arrangement tasteless, the flowers were stale. I got the flowers on a Friday; from the start the roses had no scent and by the end of the weekend the flowers had wilted altogether. For what it cost me they should have smelled better and lasted longer. When I get flowers from the local supermarket they are colorful, fresh, and tastefully arranged for a third of the price of the stale, tasteless flower arrangement I got at Apropos. Not only would I never consider letting this mediocre store design any event whatsoever for me, I would never buy flowers from them ever again. I'd rather do without than let them rip me off again. read more

I used Apropos for the first time for a big holiday party at the Natural History Museum downtown this month. The museum has very specific instructions for bringing flowers into the museum. I wanted a rustic, "Jurassic Park" type centerpiece made up primarily of succulents but still with a holiday feel. I worked with Deisy who put together 20 gorgeous arrangements even bigger and more beautiful than I'd hoped for. People were literally fighting over them at the end of the evening. On top of that, the delivery was made at 5pm on a Friday evening, on time, with no issues and in line with the museum's specs. The arrangements were very reasonably priced and actually came in just under budget. I highly recommend Apropos and will use them again! read more

HORRIBLE - DO NOT GO HERE FOR FLOWERS. I ordered over the phone 5 days before my wife's birthday with a guarantee that the flowers would be delivered by 2pm. On my wife's birthday, the delivery guy didn't deliver the flowers till after 5pm!!!! Not only was she gone BUT the flowers were obviously in the van all day as they were wilted. The arrangement was poorly designed and looked NOTHING like the flowers online. After I called to complain (definitely not worth the $110 they over charged me), the rude girl offered to give 10% off my next order - BTW this was after putting me on hold for 13 minutes. LAST TIME I EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! read more

When some one pays a premium for a product or service (in this case both), there's an expectation of value. Either the customer service is impeccable, or the the flower arrangement is a great value, or unique, etc. I receive an arrangement from Apropos once or twice a year, and the arrangements are usually stunning. Beautiful orchids, artfully arranged in nice, large vases and delivered within hours of your order (my office is also about 3 blocks away). I was very dissapointed this year in receiving a Valentine's day arrangement. For starters, it's $200 an a single orchid and small succulent in a small ceramic square planter (5" square). The worse thing, however, was that it was delivered to my office after 5pm on V-day, and I didn't receive it until the following morning. I sent Apropos two emails asking them to offer something as a good will gesture, and left them two phone messages. It is now 3 days later and no response to either phone calls or emails. This is just bad business. I wasn't surprised to read the other 1 star reviews (one filtered) that this place has gotten, also complaining about late delivery or overpriced arrangements. Again, being 3 blocks away from the florist, this was just unacceptable. read more

Received the most beautiful arrangement delivered from Apropos 5 years ago. It still stands out in my mind. It was a beautiful white monochromatic arrangement with drift wood and large stone. (Not tacky, very organic) A piece of art. A Feng Shui dream. The live orchid plants lasted for 5 months. It was unbelievable. My friends were all blown away and I know their husband's were being held to a new standard. I almost felt guilty about the most gorgeous anniversary flowers that just never wilted or died, because every time my friends saw it they were reminded that their husbands looked like real schmucks compared to mine. We moved away and no other arrangement ever compared. I happened upon the flower shop quite by accident a couple of days ago, the smell was intoxicating. I looked around and saw the familiar stationary and realized this was the place!!! This review is the least I can do for the most beautiful and memorable arrangement I ever received. Thank you. Years late, but my loyalty renewed now that I'm back in the neighborhood. read more

These are not your typical run-of-the-mill arrangements. Absolutely beautiful and unique floral arrangements. Definitely your higher end type flowers, fresh and long lasting. If you want something elegant and tasteful, this is the place to order from. Their arrangements have always left me in amazement, wouldn't want flowers from anywhere else. Good Job Apropos!!!
