their gem salad, with the curried cashew nuts missing!
    Sarah P.

First off what a gorgeous setting. This outside bar area is in the gorgeous National hotel located in Miami Beach. The national offers a stunning setting with foliage, swaying palms, sand under foot with rustic outside seating areas. For this vibe I would give 5 stars. The service was also pleasant and quick. However, I ordered a gem salad which was not cheap - at 16.00 a pop, which is also basically over 20.00 after they add their tip. It came and looked appetising. Quarter of the way through I was like? Was there not supposed to be curried cashew nuts with this? I beckoned the wait staff and she said oh yes they are missing. She comes back and says sorry they did not tell me but they have run out. Whilst the salad (lettuce leaves, gems and a few grated vegetables with a yummy creaminess of their delightful Goddess dressing, it did not have a protein. She just stood there and did not offer anything, which I felt was not the best customer service, for this level of establishment. I then quickly perused the menu and said well one of the other salads come with pecans, have you any of those? She said I will check. She then comes back with some pecans. Now adding this to the dish I did not feel so robbed. However to be noted - staff SHOULD SPEAK UP (whether that is the kitchen or the wait staff - and again they SHOULD notice if the dish is not as it is supposed to be) and say sorry we do not have that but we DO have this alternative. For this reason I give a three stars.

Not your typical pool food joint! I got the blackened grouper sandwich. The fries are really thin and crispy, and they are generous with the portions. My husband got the quesadilla and asked them to add sautéed veggies. It came with sour cream, guac, and salsa. It was excellent!! I would come back just to eat that. The drinks are really good, too. The frozen drinks are yummy and fresh tasting.

Great place to stop for a quick bite on a beach day or when you're not feeling up for a full meal…read more Sandwiches are large and taste great! Plenty of customization options. A counter seat is hit or miss but nice to have available instead of only being a walk up window. Skip the smoothies. They're watery and thus not very filling or flavorful. You're better off getting a sandwich (again, as this was my 2nd visit) or going somewhere else for a smoothie.

From a distance, it looks like a food truck, but it's actually a full setup designed to look that way. Even in the scorching heat, there was a line--but it moved quickly. Their menu has everything. Think of it as a Subway style setup, but with smoothies, tropical ingredients, and lots of fresh options. Now the main part...We ordered- Chicken Mix Baguette Tuna Baguette Am I the only one who found it just okay? At Subway, at least they toast the bread for a bit. Here, I genuinely struggled with the hard bread--it was tough to chew. Also, the meats were cold, which I'm not used to. I knew that beforehand, but still wanted to try this hyped spot. They have about 5-7 bar style stools for seating, but in the humidity, it's not the most comfortable experience. Freshness (smoothies & ingredients): 5/5 Overall taste & experience: 3/5 Or maybe we're just spoiled by the big fast food chains?

For food I ordered the tres leches French toast. The were delicious. Different than most restaurants. The size / shape are unique like large French toast sticks. Crispy exterior with a extremely soft interior. The caramel sauce and whipped cream were the perfect balance. I also ordered scrambled eggs with cheese and a matcha. The match was ok it wasn't anything to write home about. My other party had on letters which were good with potato's. Also tea which they served with a actual tea pot and mini honeys. Great presentation. The staff was extremely nice even letting us practice our Spanish.

They somehow…read moreinstantly know when you are a visitor, and at first, the service is overly nice, almost like they are rolling out the red carpet. You feel special, flattered, and excited to sit down. And then... poof. As soon as you are seated, it is like you evaporated from their memory. You are there, but apparently invisible, and suddenly all that charm vanishes. The food came out cold, which would have been fine if it were still tasty, but sadly, it was neither warm nor particularly good. They took it away to "fix it," but the damage was done. I lost track of how many times I saw our waiter after that, and unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make up for what I paid or for the experience that had already gone off the rails. You can forgive a small mistake, but when the cold food and disappearing service team are combined, it feels like a comedy of errors. So let me give you some friendly advice: stay away. Stay away. Stay away. Unless you are looking for a dining experience that doubles as a lesson in how quickly customer service can vanish, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I'll admit it had story value for me, and I left with a funny tale to tell, but as far as eating out in Miami goes, there are far better options that won't make you question if you were ever seated in the first place.

As we walked by Safron, the smells and aroma with the lit up menu was what drove us right in. It's a very small hole in the wall, more for takeout, but they have a few tables and chairs outside that make the perfect people watching while you eat, that's free entertainment! We ordered the falafel plate to share and it was plenty. There's rice was absolutely delicious and the falafel were made on the spot served perfectly warm and crispy. Pro tip: ask for their house made hot sauce, it will rewire your brain. That was the perfect touch to our platter. Next time would LOVE to order the falafel wrap which comes with fries. Their tacos are not bad but for street tacos they are pricey even during happy hour. They charge a standard 18% gratuity. Front Porch has always been a spot we dined at, mostly for breakfast, but sometimes lunch and dinner. At times, we would stay at the Z Hotel just for Front Porch. Unfortunately, that has changed, and I would never go back or accept a free meal or service--imagine that, never accept a free meal in Miami. The service was bad, actually the waiter was fair to ok, but the bleach blonde older server consumed the air out of the room. She was grumpy, not engaging, and when she spoke her voice was so deep and off putting that it frightened me. The culinary offerings, reminds me of a hospital cafeteria from the 80s/90s . The worst part was the theming and lack of ambiance. It felt like a seedy nightclub or raggedy adult club you have to take a shower after leaving. I had to apologize to wife for such a poor experience. Bad husband! Also, I believe the operation was being managed or run by a small family of 4/5 people with no hospitality, culinary, or service experience. Finally, for $100, I never have to go there again. Front Porch, RIP. Sorry...
