I was confused when I opened my door because I completely forgot he was coming that day, the confusion on my face was immediately met by a flat "you look like a man." Puzzled by this, I responded with, "well that's rude of you" he explained himself and said "oh I didn't mean to offend you, my niece works out and looks like you too." The continued small talk with him was uncomfortable after that point. He then commented saying "you're a pretty woman, you should cover up, someone will try to take you." Stay away from Aqua Clean Carpet Care. I'm writing this review so that others don't make the mistake of hiring Arsen and having to deal with his arrogant, dishonest, and shameful behavior like I did. I can't speak for whether or not all the other reviews for this company are genuine and actually from people who've used his services, but I have a feeling he plays dirty with other customers as well - purposely misleading and coercing them into paying a significantly higher amount than what was originally quoted once the job has been finished. Numerous things went wrong, but for the sake of brevity I'll mention the main issues: -Arsen took any opportunity to ask invasive questions while in my home. Just several that come to mind- What does your spouse do for work? How much did you buy your home for and what is your monthly mortgage payment? (yes, really). He would frequently ask me who certain people in photos that were placed around the house were ("who's he/she?", "is this your spouse/brother-in-law/son?", etc.). Mind you, I don't have an issue with a bit of small talk, but this was clearly crossing into the realm of inappropriateness. Anyone with basic self-awareness would know that these incessant questions were not only unprofessional but would make anyone uncomfortable- but clearly this wasn't the case with Arsen. At one point I decided to just avoid being near him as much as I could so that he would stop talking to me and actually do his job properly (especially considering that he had broken a vase at one point- without apologizing, of course). -He asked mid-way if I could stop whatever task I was doing so that I could brew coffee for him for his 'break'. A bit of a weird request- but I did it anyway. Poured him a cup, and upon bringing out sugar and milk, he says to me- verbatim- "I don't take sugar in my coffee, I'd like honey"... as if he's a guest in my home or dining at a cafe. He then proceeded to spend over a half an hour drinking his coffee while seated inside the kitchen. -Arsen took it upon himself to charge literally double the estimate he initially gave me over the phone after he had finished the job. I let him know that, while I understood that an estimate is an approximation, charging a customer double the amount that was initially quoted (and especially informing them of the price increase AFTER the job was finished) was incredibly unprofessional and misleading. If, for whatever reason, he felt that the price he had initially quoted wasn't right after having the opportunity to be inside of and personally see my home, the honest thing would have been for him to make that clear from the start so that both parties are in agreement, rather than saying absolutely nothing and performing said services under the guise that it would be charged at or within a reasonable range of said price. I had offered to pay him $100 over the estimate (which was very fair considering he had broken a vase during cleaning). This escalated into a full-on argument where he was consistently talking over and raising his voice at me, claiming that the price he initially gave me was just for the living room (which is not true, as I had made it clear to him the number of rooms along with the furniture I wanted to have cleaned when speaking to him on the phone), making accusatory remarks along with not-so-veiled threats like "legally or illegally I will make sure I get the full amount for my services". At one point my son had to get involved because he was becoming overly aggressive and threatening. He had toned it down significantly once my son began to record him on his cellphone and threatened to call the police. In the end, I agreed to pay $150 over the initial estimate because I was tired of arguing and just wanted him out of my house (while Venmo-ing him, he also had the audacity to say "are you so cheap that you can't add another $10 to that amount?"). Overall, dealing with Arsen at Aqua Clean Carpet Care was an incredibly bizarre and frustrating experience, and I'd highly recommend whoever took the time to read my review to choose one of the many other carpet cleaning companies out there who are reputable, honest, and offer pricing that is in-line with the level of service and professionality you'll receive. read more
