I opted to come here during the Sizzle Dining special. (3 course for $49.00) Upon entering, I was greeted with a giant smile and enthusiasm by the hostess. It's immediately observed the decor is upscale. With that said, I did notice not all patrons dressed accordingly. I was immediately greeted by both of the bartenders. The menu was explained to me which I looked over while enjoying my cocktail. I started with the Steakhouse Caesar and complimentary bread. I like an abundance of dressing, so this was a little light for my taste. All ingredients were nicely fresh. For my main course, I ordered the Black Peppercorn Seared Wagyu. It was graded MS-5 teres major and was served with a baked potato and a small side of steak sauce. I did not use the sauce because I didn't want to spoil the excellent quality of beef which was cooked to perfection as per my temperature request. The Key lime pie seemed a standard pie often sold with local restaurant suppliers. Nothing phenomenal there, but it was the only dessert offered with the special. My "dessert" was the espresso martini I had made with Van Gogh chocolate infused vodka. read more

We went here for dinner and both got the Grouper. We both felt the sauce was too heavy. Everything felt so heavy and rich but not in a good way. The sauces cover up the good flavor of fish. And the portion was HUGE. Maybe some people like to eat this way but we really feel they need a menu update with a bit healthier preparations. Service is okay. My mom only ate a few bites but the server didn't say a thing like "can I get you something else?" The ambiance is dark and romantic. I wouldn't take kids here. It's pretty quiet. A good spot for a date. There are restaurants that we enjoy more in Naples and they're less expensive. We won't be back. read more

I showed up tonight for my 7:15 PM reservation at 7 PM. I was told it would just be a few minutes. I then went to the desk again at 7:15 PM and I was then told it would be 30 minutes later. After being seated, drinks were watered down. Hopeful that the meal would be better. Them was served a steak that was overcooked and rubbery. If I wanted rubbery overcooked food, I would go to Taco Bell. I've lived in Naples for 15 years now. There's so much more better dining experiences than this. Don't waste your time and money people. Go elsewhere. The person who checked me in her name was Maddie and the manager who I asked to speak to is Kendra Neither of them offering an apology. Almost smug stating it is what it is, sir. With a 6:30 reservation on a Tuesday evening, the 4 of us were seated quickly and our server arrived right away. They were offering $30 off a bottle of wine, so we chose a nice Pinot Noir and were very happy with it. The decor is very classy, with subtle lighting and booths and tables. The menu is extensive, with numerous accompaniments and sides. My husband and I decided to share the potsticker appetizer and I opted for the braised short ribs for my entree. We were provided fresh bread, which was excellent. Our potstickers arrived looking wonderful and the flavors were great. I loved that we didn't feel rushed and got to enjoy our drinks, and then appetizers before our entree arrived. My short ribs were amazing. They were fall off the bone tender and the sauce on them was stupendous. I rarely finish my meal, but this one I did, and loved every bite. Service was great the entire time we were there. I went for a business dinner. I have been to the one in Bonita but this was my first time at the 5th Ave location. I think this is a nicer ambiance, you cant beat 5th Ave right? Our server was polite and efficient. We both had chicago cut rib-eye and it was delicious. I never have butter or sauce on a good steak and these steaks did not need it! A friend from the area introduced us to this restaurant a couple of months ago and we have come back 4 times already for the spectacular food and generous 40% off. I had ordered bone in ribeye, filet Mignon, all the Filet Waygu as well as the Australian Waygu strip. I have enjoyed them all, always good. Their sides are not too big but can served 2 people. It's my fav dinner spot in Naples. In Feb - able to sit outside in the extremely comfortable chairs and enjoy spectacular food, fabulous service & great friends it's hard to beat....except we had to wait ~ 45 min after our reservation to be seated. The bar is a nice place to wait & service is awesome on a super crowded night. Others in same boat as us so conversations were friendly and easy w almost everyone respectful about the wait. When we finally sat we were amazed at how comfortable the seats were and how much fun it was to sit by the street & sidewalk. Service was as special and we never waited for anything. We shared the coffee crusted pork chop (spectacular), the grouper (perfectly cooked) and a large steak (excellent). Wonderful evening and can't wait to return. read more

Food First we received a warm basket of bread with the most delicious butter with flaky salt & a garlic infused oil (would literally go back for this alone). Then we ordered a bottle of wine to split, along with the fresh market salad & the dyn-oh-mite sushi roll (tuna roll). The salad was a bit smaller than expected but incredibly flavors. The sushi roll was fabulous & we ordered a little side of the honey sriracha to go with which was the perfect spicy touch! For dinner we decided on two entrees -- The wagyu top sirloin & the sliced wagyu tri tip. Both were great dishes & the perfect size. The sides that accompanied the meat were great & the sauces were incredible. Service We had an amazing waiter, Aaron, take care of us. He was absolutely incredible, starting off with his recommendations, explanations, and patience as weren't in any rush and wanted to enjoy our night! We went on a Wednesday night & the restaurant was quite busy, but not too loud, and definitely not slow at all with the volume. Everything came out with perfect timing between courses, hot & delish. Aaron definitely made our night with his service & overall kindness! Ambiance The restaurant doesn't give your typical light/airy Florida vibes, but rather a darker, more romantic feel which we loved for the occasion. Unimpressed with this fine dining experience The food: The the porter house steak was excellent and the filet side was like butter. The sides such as the potatoes a gratin were delicious and the corn brûlée was pretty good but not amazing. The chocolate mouse for dessert was very light and fluffy and the complimentary sour dough bread and butter definitely hit the spot. Let's talk about the service: subpar. # 1. No small forks for the oysters . #2 our waiter cleaned and wiped off our table with his bare hands... 3. Left dirty empty plates at our table 4. I had to pour my own water... literally came over once to place sparkling water in my glass. 4. Suggested the filet instead of the porter house when the porter house was way more tender but less expensive then us buying one Porter house and a 10 ounce filet . We would have ordered the porter house for 2 as I originally wanted but was convinced the filet was better by our waiter. Wrong! The porter house was spectacular. When I brought it up to our waiter he said nothing. I would expect at this caliber of restaurant for the service to be impeccable. I was beyond disappointed. We didn't even receive suggestions on wine pairings with our entree. Didn't seem to have a sommelier on site. Ambiance: sophisticated/ old charm If it wasn't for the service I would have given it a 5 stars I don't think our server/ waiter had any experience working at a fine dining restaurant or Chops doesn't spend the time or money to train their employees appropriately. We recently visited Chops on 5th Avenue to celebrate my husband's birthday on 1/29/2025, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. While the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice, there were several issues that made this experience less than ideal. First off, the service was lacking. Our water was never refilled once during our meal, which is a basic expectation at any restaurant. The biggest issue was my husband's $90 wagyu steak. It came out burnt to a crisp with black char around the entire piece--completely overdone. By the time it arrived, it was nearly 9PM, and we were one of the last tables there, so my husband didn't want to make a fuss. But honestly, the steak should have been recooked. It was so charred that all he could taste was the burnt flavor, completely masking the natural quality of the wagyu. Why anyone would char wagyu like this is beyond me. It's disappointing when a special meal is ruined this way, especially for a birthday dinner. Interestingly, I've noticed that other reviews have mentioned the same issue with steaks being over-charred. It would be helpful if Chops told customers upfront that their steaks tend to come out charred so that you can ask for a normal cook if that's what you prefer. The key lime pie we ordered to go was also underwhelming. The sauces and the green dots on the whipped cream tasted chemical, which was surprising for a restaurant of this caliber. These definitely didn't taste like they were freshly made. Lastly, the oysters recommended by the waiter were the tiniest we've ever had--about the size of a few cannellini beans. They were so small it felt like you were eating nothing. Even the Old Fashioned cocktail was served in the smallest glass I've ever seen. Is this so that you'll order another one quickly? When the bill is over $300 for just a few steaks, at least pour the cocktails into proper vessels! It felt like a cheap move, especially considering the price point. For a place that's advertised as high quality, our experience didn't match up to the expectations. No special birthday touches were made either, despite us mentioning the occasion. With so many fantastic dining options in the area, I was expecting better food and service. read more

We've dined here twice in two weeks with two different couples. Here's the formula for a fantastic evening. Make a 5pm reservation for dinner. Show up at 4:30pm when they open and checkin with front of house staff and let them know your seating preference, then go to the fabulous bar and have a cocktail. The bartenders here are some of the friendliest folks you'll ever meet and make wonderful drinks! Last evening Johnny was our server and he was absolutely delightful as well. The food here is top notch! I've enjoyed two different Sushi dishes, the clam chowder (must get!), potstickers and spring rolls. It's all delicious. My wife raved about the wagu steak and also enjoyed their Pork Chop. Our table split the Apple Tart for dessert and it was outstanding. Another excellent experience at Chop City Grill! The next time you visit here, please ask to be seated at "The Walk Bar" you will get a front row seat of the inter-workings of this fine establishment. The Ambiance at the Walk Bar is far more intimate with the kitchen. You get to witness the subtle relationship between the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef akin to a Conductor to an Orchestra. I was in awe at how professional and cohesive the kitchen staff really is here and I can not say enough about the show that unfolds, you really have to witness this yourself. Our Waiter Christian greeted us with a smile and remembered our party from months ago. Christian was quite attentive throughout our dinner and offered many good suggestions. We felt the perfect amount of visits to check if we needed anything were offered. Our order came as expected with flawless timing. The best part was the kitchen staff pointed out key points in the process of our dinner being cooked to us as it was happening. Our appetizer orders were the Steak Tartar and Spring Rolls. The Steak Tartar was delicious and the Spring Rolls were crispy and flavorful. I had the Cowboy Steak cooked to a perfect Pittsburg Rare, with the wild mushroom sauce. The steak and mushroom sauce combo was tender and flavorful. My Son had the Porterhouse the same way. He is presently in Culinary School so I trust when he impressed and he was. My Father in law had the Filet Mignon and was equally satisfied. For dessert we split a very well put together Key Lime Pie. Key Lime Pie is my largest weakness and this version did not disappoint. I would describe Chop City Grill as elevated Fine Dining. While not cheap, the experience you get at Chop City Grill is well worth what you are paying; after all, you are dining in Downtown Naples. The assembled team at Chop City Grill are as Personal as the are professional, we love it here and make every effort to dine here every chance we get. But the food quality and taste makes up for anything the ambiance is lacking! This was my second time coming here with a group of six and both experiences were incredible. We started with cocktails, then had bottles of wine with dinner, and then had espresso martinis with dessert. We ordered a handful of appetizers, we each had steaks as our main course, and we ordered four shareable sides. I was blown away by the beef tartar and the corn crème brûlée! Highly recommend! Took over an hour to get our orders. I got up to speak to the crew because I was the hostess of my dinner guests, so it was my responsibility to lodge the complaint. Food at Chops City Grill is just about the best in the city, but we felt we were being manipulated & held hostage to make the restaurant look full & in demand. The wait staff were huddled at the inner side of the closed-off dining area where we'd been cordoned off (we and the other patrons, about 25-30 in all). I was enraged, used an X-rated expletive, slapped on the upper arm one of the wait staff who happened to be nearby, and later got scolded by an attorney friend of mine (a retired cop)-- never accost anybody you are in an altercation with. Anyway, I didn't punch her-- just slapped her. Anyway, I've been there over 30 times, so I guess I'd spent about $15,000. It's a shame because despite their being rude to us, they have great food. read more

My wife and I were celebrating our 40th anniversary on St Patrick's Day and I decided that Chops was the place to do it. In the notes section of the reservation, I left a note stating it was our anniversary as a courtesy. When we arrived, the hostess wished us a Happy Anniversary and escorted us to our table. Once there, we found a nice card signed by the staff and we were told that this was our table for the night, meaning enjoy your anniversary. Our server Ian (terrific young man and a great server) never once rushed us for drinks, appetizers or dinner and reiterated that the table was ours for the night. 2 of us had 6:15 dinner reservations for a Sunday evening. There appeared to be a few open tables and almost all the bar was open. Service: Excellent. This is one of two areas that tipped this review to be 4 star and not 3. Our server Julianne is pleasant, attentive and has a nice sense of humor. Dan (the manager?) checked on us several times throughout our meal. Food: 3 star. This makes me sad as I expect when I go to a steak place I want to get the most excellent steak I can get. The Chicago ribeye ($56) was good but not exceptional. I got the truffle fries as an app (if you've seen my other reviews you know I LOVE truffle fries). They were OK. The high bar is Gibbet Hill in MA. Chops City fries were good, but could have tasted fresher. The aioli made them tasty. The Caesar salad was excellent. A nice touch is when the butter is delivered, it is room temp so easily spread on the warm bread. I also liked the olive oil in the base of the the butter dish as it added nice flavor. BAR: Extra credit as my cosmo was served with a lime, which was strategically off the side of the glass in a cocktail spear balanced with a berry on the bottom. Which means the garnish was not touching my drink unless I then wanted to squeeze it in. After seeing a lot of undesirable bar behavior when it comes to garnishes, I really liked this method of garnish delivery. The downside is Titos was an upcharge and for a $16 cosmo it was a little watery and not overly full. The other surprise is I ordered a house Chardonnay, 9 oz. The bill then revealed the price. $28. For a large glass of house wine. Not cool. And the glass was silly large. The globe part was at least 6 inches, I felt like I needed to hold it with 2 hands. I'd recommend a more appropriate glass and a more appropriate price for a house wine. The bar had plexiglass in between each 2 seat sections. We usually like to sit at the bar to meet and chat with others, so this is not the environment for that type of interaction with others. But if you like to sit at the bar and be on your own or with the one person you arrived with, this is a nice set up. ATMOSPHERE: Excellent. The other point which leaned towards the 4 stars. We got a booth, comfy, classy. There are small pillows and as I am petite having back support is a nice touch. The booths are all separated by plexiglass. I'm on the fence if I'd try Chops City again. It's been recommended by several people but our first experience was just OK and for the $200+ bill I'm wondering if there is a better steak place who can make an awesome cosmo elsewhere in Naples.
