My review has three parts and a conclusion. Part 1... I…read morepurchased a second hot tub several years ago after the first one stopped holding water after about 25 years. When I took it apart it was rotted through. I can't complain about that. Also, the stove was still good. 5 Stars. Part 2...The second hot tub was as nice as the first with updated stainless bands. Went together well. Very nice. 5 Stars. Part 3...I needed a new vinyl cover. I ordered the Vinyl Cover, "this is a premium 4″ thick insulating vinyl cover that is highly effective at preventing heat loss from the tub". As pictured on the website it folds in half. When I received mine the split was much closer to the stove. It would have been impossible to open the cover without hitting the stove pipe, obviously melting/ruining the cover. I had to make a 'backstop' to prevent damaging the cover. I called to complain about the discrepancy between the photo on the website and what I actually received. The response was "well it was PhotoShopped". No offer of a solution. Also, the vinyl is terribly cheap. It got a tear in it about 15 minutes after I put it on the tub. 1 Star. Conclusion.... Customer Service. 1 Star Accuracy of website 1 Star.

Filling the tub with fresh water the night before and starting the fire in the stove that evening, as long as the wood stays on fire, you'll have a warm tub the next day. I have 56 acres and lots of standing and fallen dead timber, so no cost to me to heat it. No noise , just nature and the drinking of adult beverages.

We were disappointed that this does not actually fit six people well. If you actually put that many people in this hot tub it won't just be crammed: for us so much water spilled out that we needed to add more. Our warning, however, is that future renters should be extremely careful about exposing the hot tub to the sun. And, yes, I am serious: the PNW team thought **we should have known** that the liner of a hot tub rented for outdoor use in the summer required protection from the sun! Because we covered the hot tub--but covered it imperfectly for a few days (as in, the cover was a few inches offset)--we were charged over $1,300 for a liner replacement (plus gaskets and fees) thanks to sun bleaching. And we were blamed for the entirety of this bleaching even though the PNW team didn't come pick up the spa until several days after the end of our contract. So you should absolutely know that the vinyl on these hot tubs can melt in the sun--and renters are held fully responsible, even if the owners leave the hot tub sitting out unused for days. So I wouldn't rent one of these hot tubs unless you're prepared to be hit with a $1000+ bill for damages.

When I joined I was simply told what my ten passes got me access to and what it didn't and handed the schedule. My PT has required me to use both a hot tub and do laps and stretching to help heal my lower back and hip problems and prevent surgery. Rainier Beach was closest to my home that had both, and 6 passes in, I've always been waved through and been given two wristbands--one for hot tub, one for laps because PT orders--on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, only time I can come. Tonight they let me randomly know that they would be charging me two passes at a time if I needed this therapy routine--I would be double-charged from here on to treat my injury. I told them then since this was the only pool with the facilities I needed for healing, and couldn't use other Seattle centers, I would need a refund. The supervisor seemed very proud to let me know that I could talk to their management about it, but they probably won't give me one. No apologies, nothing that sounded like sorry for the miscommunication that was going to take more of your money than you signed up for and were informed of. Just the appearance of: yeah that's not gonna happen, like they were better than me. This was the final straw though, where, refund or not, I cannot go back. The first issue I had was my second time there ever, where a male swimmer I was sharing lanes with kept tapping me, getting too close and came up fast behind me and ran into my feet. It scared me, so I asked the lifeguard to reinforce rules. She made an excuse for him when he wouldn't listen. This was not a teen swimming; he was about 6'5. So instead of doing her job by reinforcing the rule, the lifeguard said "there are lanes over there," for me to move instead of him. I didn't let it slide though, but then it just got worse while I was trying to stand up for myself. I went to other staff members and a supervisor. Next thing I knew they were all standing around in a circle, excluding me, in silence, like they hoped it would fizzle out. They just stood there, together, quietly, and the issue of my not feeling safe suddenly didn't seem to exist to them. I couldn't believe what this looked like from the staff, overall (maybe misogyny and group stonewalling...?). I confronted them again, this time saying I couldn't believe they were not tending to this. They seemed to finally realize this wasn't going to go away. So what did they do?: One of them went to the man and had HIM take care of it. They didn't enforce the rules, they went to him shrugging and forced me to talk to the man face to face, instead of enforcing personal boundaries I was asking for. He luckily was extremely apologetic, but he also didn't know what to do because-you guessed it- IT WASNT HIS JOB. It was THEIRS. His apology helped, but obviously I was so freaked out I needed to speak to the person in charge to let them know their staff didn't know how to handle these situations and how unsafe this was. And... it just got EVEN worse. This person in charge literally asked me to show him the rules posted by the pool like he had never seen them before. I READ THEM TO HIM. Folks, I was in so much shock, I think my IQ dropped that moment. I knew right then that as a single woman, maybe a woman in general, I was not safe there. And if I came back I would have to constantly be on edge. He kept gaslighting me and his argument was that the man had apologized and that a brush or an "accidental touch" was not a big deal. He also avoided any professional apologies himself. They had the swimmer do all the work for them. I've already been persevering every time I go back after that instance, always watching over my shoulder in case, but after tonight now they want extra money I don't have that was never explained nor before implemented- because of a routine I need for preventing surgery.. It's not a choice--I CANNOT go back. For dignity and a sense of safety. And offering another location is no excuse for this disrespect for folks who are just trying to take care of themselves. I'll miss it; it's beautiful~only reason not 1 star.

The sauna is hot, and large enough to make sense, and the towel service provides a nice experience for individuals wishing to have a spa like beginning or end to their workout sessions. Michael diagnosed the problem -- our 25-year-old pump and 50+ year old sand filter (!) needed to be replaced. No surprise there. He talked us through the options and provided us with a written proposal the next day with line items for the recommended new equipment and labor costs. The equipment was ordered, then installed by Michael and his co-worker a few days later -- all less than a week from when we had initially called. We were trained on how to operate the shiny new (much more energy efficient and quiet) equipment and Michael was responsive to a couple follow up calls with questions. Everything was totally professional, transparent, efficient, and reliable from start to finish. And our water is clearer than it has ever been! I've been taking my kids to this pool for 21 years. They are 21, 10, and 6. Fifteen years ago, this…read morepool was a decent place to take lessons, but it's not anymore. The actual pool is fine. My kids like it because it has a 3 foot deep shallow end so even when the kids are very small, they can stand with their head above the water. And there are diving boards in the deep end which is something you can't find at all of the pools. The lifeguards and swim instructors are all relatively friendly, and they don't have a million rules, so it's a fun place for free swim. However, the majority of the lifeguards are very young. I personally don't have a ton of faith in a 17-year-old being able to keep my child safe in a pool, so I watch them every second myself. The reason for two stars is the lessons. This is our primary reason for going to the pool, and the lessons are awful. They divide the children up by age, and then divide that age group into three skill levels. If your child's skill level is outside the predicted skill level for their age group, they will never be taught where they're at. All of my children have been swimming independently by age 3-4, but there is no opportunity for independent swimming in this age group at Southwest Community Center pool. The kids are expected to stay in the shallow end, touching the wall, and they will be learning the very basics. Once the kids turn six, they are allowed to move up into a higher age range of kids who are 6 to 12, but if you have a younger children, they will take one look at them and put them in the lowest level, even if they swim better than the oldest kid in the pool. If by some chance, your six-year-old gets put into a group with 10 to 12-year-olds, they will be expected to understand instructions that are given at a 10 to 12-year-old level. There is no consideration for the differences in communication or maturity level of a six-year-old vs an older child. We have given this pool years of opportunities to improve the structure of their lessons and they have only gotten worse and worse. My personal recent experience is that I have a six-year-old who can easily pass a swim test and swim in the 12' deep end. She will spend an hour and a half before her lesson swimming in the deep end, jumping in, treading water, diving to the bottom, doing the backstroke, swimming freestyle... but as soon as free swim ends, and her lesson begins, she is put in a group of little kids who are practicing blowing bubbles and are kept on an extremely short leash with no opportunity for actual swimming. All I get from them is "Sorry, this is how we do things." They don't care. So if your child is a very early swimmer, or a very typical swimmer for their age, you might get something out of this pool for a year. But once your child starts making progress, they will be held back. The last big strike against them is management. Like I said before, the lifeguards and the instructors are all pretty young, but friendly. However, there's always one or two people in charge who have an absolutely horrible attitude. For some reason, they seem to attract managers who are on a big power trip. There was an older woman who worked there for the last decade who was an absolute terror, and when she left, they just replaced her with a male version who is no better. I don't understand it, but nothing will ever change if they have management who doesn't care and won't listen. Their priority does not seem to be teaching kids to swim. It appears to be filling up the classes with bodies as quickly as possible, and then stringing them along for years to make as much money as possible.
