Still using Chris and Aqua Star who has been diligently taking care of my spa for over 7 years now. Recently we noticed the heater wasn't working properly and given we're all currently stuck at home were hoping to resolve it quickly. Chris answered my call on a Sunday, helped me troubleshoot it for almost 30 minutes, then indicated the two parts that might be the issue and came over Tuesday morning with both of them to resolve it. Everything is running great now and his price was fair and service was excellent. I've noticed in another recent review that there was a displeased customer who indicated Chris behaved in an inappropriate way. I can't speak to their situation but I've never had a problem with Chris and have always appreciated his responsiveness, fair pricing, and down-to-earth attitude. I'd encourage folks to consider a variety of perspectives here as you make your service decisions - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chris to others. read more

Aqua star pool serviced my pool for a few months, they started by doing a normal job, keeping the pool running, then the problems started , changing pool people, missing days to service, forgetting to clean the filter as it should . Due to the lack of keeping up with the maintenance the motor went out and other parts were not working as they should, Chris the owner kept giving me excuses that he is too busy ... Eventually the whole system collapsed , with no one to service the pool, the pool sat there with no service and motor is out .... Horrible experience with Chris being too busy to take care of my pool..... Then he puts an inferior product and keeps calling to get paid for a motor that was not doing the work and the pool was getting worst , no help , no cleaning of filter .... Chris is rude, he will call to threaten that he will stop the service after my pool was with no service for a couple of month, with an inferior product ..... His reason is he trying to save me money ... I am still waiting .... read more

Responsive, honest and accurate Chris has been a refreshing change from subpar companies that let inexperienced kids perform their work. We had algae and DE constantly invading our pool and was dealing with a company for six months to resolve it. But they perpetuated it and blamed our Pentair equipment that was less than 2 years old. Chris did a great job replacing our old Jandy system that was on its last legs. He had recommended going with a Pentair system which I also wanted to use based upon my research. He was very responsive to all the questions I had about the new system (which were often and many). He never tried to sell me more than what I needed. For example we did not replace the heater because it was still working fine and he suggested to just replace it when it fails. His pricing was very reasonable when compared to the other quotes I received and decided to go with him because I felt the most comfortable with him. He had some very helpful suggestions how to get my pool prepared for a pool draining since we had really bad algae and old water. After the work was completed he also helped me with the equipment rebates when I needed some more documentation. Chris has great workmanship. When he put in the new pump and filter he reconfigured the piping to make access to the pump catch basket and salt cell much more accessible which was really great. Perfectly color matched the new piping to the new Pentair equipment. It only took him a few hours to get all the work completed. In the end I was very happy with the way everything came together. We also pulled out an old heater controller that was in the spa that had stopped working. I asked him to patch the resulting hole in the spa which he did and now you would never know there was a controller there. It really was an awesome patch job. Now we control the spa (and all the other equipment) using our cell phones which is super convenient. I highly recommend Aqua Star for any pool repairs/equipment replacement you may have. Last time I added a review for Mark who has been doing a splendid work every week. Sometimes it's windy and he still does a fantastic job! Rain does not stop him either. Anyway I was not reviewing about this. Last Saturday, my pool pump was leaking like crazy. I stopped everything, looked up Yelp to get Chris' number, called him and he called me back 30 mins later and was here 2h later. He did what he could on the spot to fix it and it helped a lot. Then he said he would come back on Tuesday with all the parts to finish the job and he did. I could not stop noticing some nasty reviews that were posted and I don't know what these people did but it does not reflect at all who Chris is. Chris is super professional, very responsive, super chill (I always end up watching him doing the work and I ask him tons of questions) his prices are very fair and his team (Mark and the filter guy) are doing a fantastic job all year long. We have been using Aqua Star for over 6 years and they provide excellent service! The owner (Chris) is a great guy - very knowledgeable about everything related to pools. He is always responsive to our calls or texts. This week we are having some maintenance & upgrades done to our pool, including draining the pool, having the tile bead blasted, new LED lights, an iAquaLink upgrade, replace valves, new salt cell & cartridge filter. His response was "you will need to find someone else to help you with your pool needs" Horrible customer service and dishonest.
