My mom and her husband have a problem with going to the chains of the world(and often)... The Longhorns, Olive Gardens, Logan's, etc etc. One good restaurant that they do frequent often is Molly Malone's. Good but it's even better that most Molly's have this Sushi menu in their restaurant. For someone like me that can't stand going out to eat steak... it's perfect when my mom and her hubs go here. Now is it the best sushi around? Probably not but I've never had bad sushi here. The last time I was here, I went with two sushi rolls. The Crab Rangoon roll and the Spicy Roll(chose yellow tail). The only issue was that the yellow tail didn't seem as fresh on this visit... it was fine because some of the flavors were masked by all the other flavors in the roll and I didn't get sick so we're all good. Needless to say, I left stuffed. This particular location seems to be filled with student-aged employees(probably UK) working and they get the job done. Always friendly and efficient. If anyone ever invites me to Molly's/Sushi bar, I'm not going to reject you. read more

Eat here if you want pretty consistent sushi. Aqua always has good service. Since it's usually in a Drakes or other restaurant, the atmosphere can be a little "night clubby." read more

I tried this place a good 10 years ago - maybe when they'd just opened? Wasn't impressed - way too pretentious and unimpressive sushi. Never came back. My how times have changed. Had lunch with my son today and he wanted Sushi. This was the only place open mid afternoon in the Hamburg area, so we gave it a try. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere relaxed and casual. Our drinks were constantly filled and dishes arrived timely. We ordered two Boston Rolls, salmon sashimi, two lunch specials of Spicy Poke, and a seaweed salad. Everything was so delicious and the cuts of salmon (even on the rolls) were ample portions. At first glance, the al a carte sushi seemed a bit expensive on the menu, but for the price you get 3 pieces and considering the size, it's on point with all the other sushi places in town. The Aqua sushi menu can be found inside of Malone's or Drakes! This is perfect for when my boyfriend is wanting steak or burgers and I'm craving sushi! I have tried multiple things from the menu from miso soup & edamame to the crab Rangoon roll, the Philadelphia roll, and the spicy salmon roll, BUT my absolute favorite is the poke bowl with salmon! I got this for the second time last night and it was just as flavorful and fresh as the first time I had it! It is definitely something I look forward to getting. I got it without the jalapeño (just personal preference), but it still has a little kick due to the wasabi mayo, which I loved! It was definitely a change from the traditional rolls and offered a lot more food to fill me up! read more

Great for sushi! They have a limited selection but they are great if you're craving sushi. They have a veggie option, so no worries if you don't like fish... but their rainbow roll is delish!!! I give it a 3 and a half. I hate to rate any of Bluegrass Hospitality Group restaurants anything less than a five, because the group and their concepts are practically genius. The fact that you can dine in Malone's if you're feeling fancy, Harry's if you're feeling more casual and want to watch a game on their many televisions. Aqua Sushi is nestled close to the entrance of Malone's, inside of the indoor portion of Harry's. Aqua Sushi isn't 'a restaurant, it's more a bar area that makes sushi and has it's own menu. But of course you eat in at either Malone's of Harry's. So, it's not a carry out sushi sort of place. I have tried the Crab Ragoon Roll sushi once and it was excellent, it's just not something that I would order or eat an entire roll of. My usual is the California Roll, occasionally it comes out smaller than usual and once, during lunch hours, the rice was a bit warm... as if it was just recently made and hardly cooled. All in all, this location is good and because there's so many additions that you can add, for example, the complimentary bread and the bottomless Lexingtonian salad. Considering those and that the service is ALWAYS on point, I highly recommend it. read more

I highly recommend trying Aqua. The sushi is great and I also tried the dumplings which were fantastic. The food was 5 stars but I had to deduct a star because of all the fruit flies buzzing around during dinner. A minor annoyance and I'll definitely be back. read more

This has become my go to sushi lately. It is always fresh and the flavors are amazing. It helps that it is only a few minutes from home too. I usually sit at the patio bar and watch whatever game is on that day. As long as there is no UK game on then they are pretty accommodating if you want to watch a specific game on the tv in front of you. The bartenders are always friendly and patient. Never trying to push you to order. I ordered the seaweed salad, fantasy roll with tuna, and a spicy yellow tail roll. THe fantasy roll is big so I took part of the yellow tail roll home. It was a great snack for my wife when she was on a break. My only complaint would be that there was a little too much oil in the seaweed salad. The flavor is amazing but the texture was oily. This is not the first time this has happened so I hope the just put a tiny amount less next time. And yes, next I am there I will order it again. read more

Pretentious!!!! This was my first time so I didn't realize that it was located inside Malone's. I asked the hostess to direct me to Aqua and she huffed and just pointed behind her. So I seated myself and waited about 10 minutes for a server to stop eating and ask me for my drink order. I asked what was on their happy hour menu, she snarked "Malones doesn't "do" happy hour"..... So I replied fine I will just have water, She brought my water back quickly and asked if I knew what I wanted and I asked for a moment.... Should have never done that, she went back and started eating again... Sooooo 10 minutes later once she was done, she took my order. Sad think of it is the sushi was wonderful, some of the best I have ever had. But they will never get another dime from me, I am not a fan of what they consider customer service. read more

This set-up is a little different. There are 3 restaurants all rolled into one (Like a Sushi roll). So you can sit in Malone's or Harry's and order from the sushi menu. I sat at Harry's which is the bar and grill spot. Malone's is the upscale steakhouse. I usually get the sushi from Aqua and enjoy the drinks from the Harry's bar. There does not seem to be a designated area specifically for Aqua Sushi. Doesn't really matter to me. I go around 8-10pm and watch sports as I enjoy my sushi and a drink. Good Times! read more

We visit this sushi bar every time we are in town because it is a short walk across the street to our hotel. The sushi is good considering it is Kentucky. ;) They have a nice selection, nothing to write home about, but good. I have to remind myself...I'm in the south, I'm in the south...when it comes to speed of service. ;) But the selection of beer and the horse racing (and other sports) on the many screens behind the bar will fill the time! We will be back again next year when we are in Lexington for the Rolex. read more

Not super authentic, but it definitely hits the spot. I find myself constantly craving it. Everything from the spicy California roll, fantasy roll, boston, crab Rangoon roll down to the volcano roll has been delicious. Prices are a little higher for a smaller size roll. Wish the rolls were a little bigger for the price, but it seems to be good quality. Definitely worth it! read more

I believe this sushi spot is inside Harry's which is inside Malones. We got four speciality rolls that were pretty good but not fantastic. The service was great as our server was attentive with beverages and clearing out plates. read more

I loved their appetizers and their wine selection!!!! We bought a bottle of Cakebread Chardonnay and it was a great night!!! We sat on the bar side so we could watch the games but you can order from all three restaraunts...The sushi was good and the gyozas were silky smooth and yummy!!! My friend ordered some fried crab things and enjoyed them alot....Next time I'm in Lexington, KY I will definitely be going back....And they have a heated outside area....I likes this place alot read more

Yeah, three stars. This place is about atmosphere and little else. The sushi is alright; nothing amazing. The servers are impersonable non-Asians who forget your Miso soup! However, this is the first time I tried Edamame (boiled, salted soy beans) and that was great. I just didn't think this place was that exceptional aside from the unique look to the restaurant. It's decorated like a hip NY club with one large table in the middle where everyone sits; it's cool at first and then a little awkward. The waitstaff serves you from an aisle down the middle. While this is interesting, it's not the place to go to have some privacy. And since I'm pretty anti-strangers, this wasn't exactly the place for me. I think if you really love sushi you would like it here; and if you're into looks alone you'd like it too. The sushi was very reasonably priced, considering this restaurant is owned and connected to Malone's/Harry's in Hamburg so it had the potential to rip me off. It's an ok place to go to try a bunch of sushi for the first time for around $30. We tried 8 different rolls and nigiri for this much, which seemed pretty fair. read more

This place is really just a bar section of Malones, which is a slightly upscale steakhouse with some real Bluegrass spirit infused In it. If you want to have a family dinner or take somebody out on a special occasion, just go to Malones and ask for the Aqua menu, just in case your family/date isn't keen on the orient. I went here a few years back and wasn't impressed at all, asking myself why sushi with that average amount of quality was connected to a really solid fine dining steak restaurant. But my last visit thoroughly impressed me, definitely better and probably a new sushi chef and staff. The preparation and plating was done very well, I ordered a tiger roll which was basically just a shrimp tempura roll wrapped in soy paper with wasabi mayo and some veg. Along with some scallop and salmon sashimi, both really fresh and tasteful. It seems this place finally got somebody who cares about the food to start rolling out fresh food, it really compliments the experience of the full restaurant now, not the best sushi in Lexington but it's still on the heels of some purely Japanese establishments, watch out! read more
