The staff is so friendly and attentive. We have really enjoyed our daughter's swim lessons and her coach is so patient with her as she is struggling with floating on her back. He made a suggestion to practice during bath time and it is really help her reach her goal of floating on her back during swim. The facility is very clean and organized with plenty of seating to watch your little one during their lesson. We had our two daughters here for about 1 year. The progress was slow and felt like my daughters progression was halted. So we took them out of this program and they are progressing rapidly with another company. This could be due to the inconsistency in swim instructors. Scheduling was a complete nightmare. If you asked for a change it either never happened or was completely off from what was agreed upon. This company needs to work on delegating certain task to certain individuals only. It seemed everyone was doing scheduling which created a nightmare for customers. When I canceled I had to sign a "30 day notice" which is ok.. And I did no problems with one of the children. But when I signed a 30 day notice for the second child the paperwork got "lost" supposedly after being charged a full month and not prorated for the last month which should of only been 10 days. Also it took over 3 weeks to obtain my refund and over 4 calls talking to all different people. This company has brought in a new facility supervisor right at the time I finally got my refund. I told him they need help and passed along all of these issues. I hope they get there stuff together because parents will get frustrated and they will leave. The company idea and facility is definitely well thought out but the facility was plagued with broken bathrooms, hair dryer electrical circuits not working, and stall doors not locking. read more

Hate to leave a negative review, but something needs to change in the process and parents of kids with special needs should be aware. We have a special needs son and came to Aqua-Tots because of their special needs swim program (SNAP). We had to fill out special paperwork and asked several questions about their ability to handle children with special needs. We were worried, of course, about his safety and the credibility/experience of instructors with special needs children. We were especially concerned with them dunking his head underwater, but they assured us it would be only one or two times to see how he responded. Makes sense. Everything seemed fine on the phone. When we came in for his trial lesson, however, they didn't seem to know he had special needs and the actual instructor who took him for the trial especially didn't seem to know it. I asked the staff if I could join him poolside during the trial, but they told me we'd be right there behind glass and that he'd be safe. We proceeded to watch in horror as they dunked him 8-10 times underwater throughout the trial. He was traumatized and all we could do is watch as they forced him under again and again. I asked the staff again if I could go in there in the middle of it, but they said no. As his father, it was excruciating to watch. He has been afraid of water ever since. There needs to be better communication and flexibility here, in our experience at least. If you have special needs children, I would look into other options. P.S. The staff was nice at least, which is why they get two stars. read more

I applied for a job at this place since it seemed like a fun job and I wanted to improve my skills at something I hadn't handled before. I applied for the job to hear back a week later. Cool. I go to the interview and the manager said word for word: "yea what's cool about this place is that they get back to you even if you didn't get the position" nice. I wait 4 more days-nothing. So I take it upon myself to call. I call and they said to come in for an observational shift from 4-5pm. Alright, I attend the shift on time, they hand me a shirt to wear, and the whole shift was chaotic and no one knew how to handle things properly. Very unorganized and 7 people at the counter at once. I finished the shift, mopped the floors, marked classes, etc. shift over, the manager tells me I'll hear from the boss in ANOTHER 3 days, and I won't need to contact them. I never heard anything, didn't receive any email, text, call, etc. They used me for free labor and left me hanging. Don't recommend. Other than that most of the staff were nice. read more

My child is 3 and a half years old. We live on Eagle Mountain Lake and have a boat. Every family member in our vicinity has a swimming pool so my child is around water all of the time. I am extremely worried about him drowning if we lose track of him for a few minutes. My child loves the water and we have always had him in it with a life jacket on to keep him safe. At the beginning of April I was outside with him and he jumped into my step-fathers cold swimming pool while I had my back turned!! I consider learning to swim to be a life saving skill, and for this reason I signed him up for aqua-tots. I was skeptical when I first looked at the lessons and worried that the lessons weren't long enough to seriously get him swimming. Keep in mind that they have private lesson and longer ones but the cost of these are expensive. I signed him up for a 4 child class twice a week for 30 minutes. We began in January and it is now mid April so he has had 3 months of lessons, 24 lessons total. I can honestly say that this is not teaching him anything meaningful. The problem is that the lessons are just too short and do not focus on what I want them to which is basic swimming strokes. I want him to be able to tread water and swim just enough to save his own life if he should fall into the water unexpectedly. I am not looking for Michael Phelps here, I just need him to be able to swim a short distance to get out of the water if he falls in or to stay above water so he can shout for help. After 3 months of lessons they are still working on what they were day one and that seems to be teaching him to hold his face in the water for a 5 second count and teaching him to float on his back with his ears in the water... Neither of those skills will save his life should he wind up in the water unexpectedly. I put in the 1 month cancelation notice today but I don't even know if we will show up for the remaining month of lessons I paid for because so little is getting accomplished. In order to take him to one lesson, I have to drive to my son's daycare to pick him up and drive to aqua tots and back, this is all during rush our so round trip its about 2 hours of my time. Plus I have to sit there for half an hour to watch the lesson and then change his clothes before and after the lesson. so the total time spent by me for one lesson is roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes - 3 hours depending on traffic. When my son has 1 lesson it is 30 minutes long. I have had it where they start 5 minutes late but still end on time so there is no guarantee you will get a full 30 minutes, but lets do the math. 4 kids in the class for a 30 minutes lesson. They usually waste about 5 minutes getting the kids in and out of the water, showering and talking to the parents afterwards so it actually about 25 minutes of time in the pool. so 25 minutes divided by 4 kids is only 6.25 minutes of actual personal instruction per child... Now I don't know about your 3 and a half year old but mine is talkative and energetic but getting him to pay attention can be a challenge so what exactly are you going to accomplish with 6.25 minutes of teaching?? Well I have my answer and the answer is very little. I then combine that with the expense and the hassle of spending 3 hours of my time for him to get 6.25 minutes of instruction and it simply isn't worth the time. To take to conversation one step further, if aqua tots thinks I am going to wait 3-4 years to have them teach my child to swim that is a risk I will not take. That, to me, is risk him drowning for 3-4 more years and that will not happen. I wanted to have him ready to swim by summer but this experiment has failed. By the time late May arrives my child will be no more prepared to save him own life then when he arrived day one at aqua tots. He may be more used to the water but he cant swim at all... Once our own swimming pool becomes warm enough, I will get him in the pool for one hour each night until I am satisfied that he can swim a minimum distance and tread water for 5-10 minutes. I almost think that aqua tots feels like if they teach the kids too fast that they will lose a customer but for me this is a safety issue and I will not jeopardize my child's life because they want to teach him as slowly as possible... Just to show that I am not a total troll I would like to say that the aqua tots staff is extremely nice and rescheduling was always very easy if I had to cancel. read more

She is able to do proper strokes and her breathing technique and breath control are amazing! the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. i highly recommend the Bryan's Irvin location to anyone looking to get the kids into swim lessons. read more

I thought I would try swim lessons with my 2 year old daughter. I signed up on-line. After experiencing a couple of lessons, I decided to not purchase another month. They automatically renew with the credit card you give them on the 1st of each month. I called to cancel on the 31st. I was told it takes one month to cancel and I would be forced to pay for an additional month. I then decided to sell my swim lessons, but they won't transfer them to another person. So, I'm stuck with $84 of swim lessons that I don't want to use. read more

I can't really say enough great things about this place!!! Picking a swim school for my anxious boys was a little nerve-racking for me but as soon as I came in to check it out, the girl behind the desk, Asha, was so warm, friendly and informative that I signed up right away. I'm very glad I did! My boys are no longer anxious but they look forward to coming and have progressed a lot. They've LOVED every single teacher/coach (Josh, Xavier, Selma and now Daniel!) that they've had! Their time here has been valuable and irreplaceable! My son started in this school when he turned 2. We've been going for 8 months now and we like it. We have Makayla as a teacher. She's wonderful, she has patience with the kids and fun attitude. We started from level 1 ( where parents get in water with their kids) and now in level 2, where kids are in a group by themselves with a teacher. I definitely see the progress in my son's skills. I would recommend swimming lessons in this school. When we just started he cried a lot. So this is something very normal. We almost cancelled and although the cancellation process was fairly easy I am glad we changed our minds. If your child cries and doesn't want to go, please listen to the instructors, give it at least 2-3 months and you will be glad you stuck with the school. read more
