We got a betta at PetSmart for our child for Christmas. It had swim bladder issues and we nursed it back to health with frozen pea. We really had no idea how to clean the aquarium and best healthiest foods etc. we found this place and they are soooo helpful and kind! They educated us on what to do and showed us food options. We were able to get everything we needed there. No one at PetSmart had very much care information and certainly not specialized. We want to give Fins the best life we can and keep him healthy and I'm so glad we found this place. The people here are fantastic! I started up a new tank, and after two failed attempts of going to Petsmart, I finally went to Aquastudios. There I was about to get bioload and three hardy Platy fish. I read the reviews for this and a few other shops in/around Dallas to stop in at on our trip from Tyler. I chose to stop here because other people felt comfortable asking "stupid questions" without being judged or talked down to by employees, and I had the same experience. I'm a new reefer just getting my large tank up and running, and the guys at this shop made me feel very comfortable and shared a lot of knowledge. I ended up buying a lot more than I anticipated because I knew these guys knew what they were talking about. My husband and I love this place! This is where we've went for everything from the gravel and live plants inside our tank, all the way to our freshwater fish, shrimp, snails etc. They are SO helpful and knowledgeable. And prices are pretty competitive across the board. We were both overwhelmed by starting a tank and wanting to do it the right way. These guys made the process so easy to understand and they have great tips and tricks! We drive over 30 min each way, but we'd easily drive double that. Wow, this place is nice, much nicer than any fish tank store I've ever been to. They set up little areas to imagine how their fish tank would look in a living room and dining room which I thought was an awesome idea. The aquariums themselves look very modern looking. Looking through their specialized glass was definitely a step up from fish tanks I've seen before. It seems like I'm looking into the tanks in HD. One of the big fish tanks had a cool concept where it looks like a football stadium underwater. The customer service was top notch. They seemed very knowledgeable and genuinely kind. I didn't get the vibe that they were pressuring me to buy something and made me feel very comfortable. We talked a lot about how they make these tanks extremely low maintenance. I recommend people at the very least check out the place and see how nice this stuff is, especially if you're an aquarium enthusiast. This is the first LFS I've been to in the DFW area where I wasn't treated like a pariah for asking questions. Amazing staff. Very friendly and knowledgeable! They didn't have the items I wanted but were kind enough to give me their business card and told me to email them a wishlist to special order! The fish are beautiful-you can tell they put a lot of love into their business. They also have an awesome coral reef area! Plus they have beautiful art for sale on the walls from local artists. I honestly don't know about this store... the staff is super great and welcoming, and I hate to leave a bad review, but I can't tell if I've just had bad luck with the fish from here or what... I've made two purchases of fish from this store in the span of a week. 3 harlequin rasboras & a guppy for my already established freshwater tank and an assortment of saltwater fish for my fairly new reef tank. I had one rasbora die before I had even finished acclimating it (in the bag, hadn't even added water from my tank), a yellow watchman goby just woke up dead (in the saltwater) two days after the rasbora and I've just found a second rasbora dead. Everything is right in both my tanks: parameters, temperature, etc.. All my other fish are great.. I can't think of anything else that would make all three fish die out of nowhere, especially since the ywg was in a completely diff tank.. it's just very upsetting.. not only because of the money but also because these are living creatures. I haven't reached out yet as I know most lfs don't really have a guarantee on the fish after they leave the store so I can't speak on how they would handle it (I'm sure great as the customer service has shown to be nothing less), but yeah, just kind of disappointed by my experience. read more

Right off the bat, my favorite thing about Elos is that they don't talk down to you or treat you like an idiot when it comes to the specialized hobby of saltwater aquariums that other stores do. I should also let you know I am an idiot when it comes to all things like this, so I know. I am so excited to finally have a saltwater aquarium store in Northwest DFW. They have a vast array of corals from low to high, endless fish, and a gorgeous set up that makes me want to buy everything. Every time I've needed something, they'll take my call or take time out of their shift to explain something to me and not oversell me. If you need service at your house, they come out for a reasonable if not cheap cost. If they don't know something, they'll find out. Chaos erupted in my aquarium this past week in the form of an algae bloom and coral meltdown and Collin came out and spent 2+ hours scrubbing, cleaning, and helping me murder the bristle worms that freak out my wife. He texted when he was on his way, arrived on time, and left me with supplies and filled up my extra reservoir with salt water. This is top notch service. My kids finally have a Nemo and a Dory and they're now living in a clean and safe environment thanks to Elos. I highly recommend them across the board. read more

As you can tell by the decor, this is not your typical shop, its better. The staff here is friendly and has good personalities. Really though, their coral selection is awesome and so are their setups. I can browse all I want online at other tank setups but being able to see it in real life, like actual setups that can help me decide how things will actually look, its cool. While other places have extremely well established tanks, its cool and all but, for me, these here are what I really want to have in my house. Modern, sleek and clean looking.
