If I could give 0 stars I would but it doesn't look like it matters because it looks like they've bailed and have gone silent since June. What a shame - they did good work at the beginning but just wouldn't finish us off. Never closed permit and never delivered cover. Even shook us down for an extra 6K. Will probably sue him if I can ever track him down. read more

WARNING: DO NOT USE Aquatic Design & Service Group or any company by Robert (Robbie) Keri! They claim on their website to be fully licensed, but we found out that Aquatic Design has actually never had a license (see DPOR website https://www.dpor.virginia.gov). He used another company (Schadetree Construction, LLC, which has filed bankruptcy and had their license revoked, see DPOR) to pull our permit. They left our pool unfinished despite multiple promises to come work "next week." We found out Robert Keri has a history of doing this (see Better Business Bureau website), both with Aquatic Design and with previous companies (Pools by Young, LTD.). He takes 90% of the payment before the final phase and then doesn't finish the job, and it'll cost a lot more than the final payment to have another company finish. At one point they went a month without answering e-mails or phone calls. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Please save yourself the trouble and stay far, far away from Aquatic Design and Robert Keri! read more

They have been under contract since 12/15/22 for a 90 day contract to complete a pool, hot tub and pool house. They have not completed nor delivered material or completed installation of line items paid for months ago. Should be allowed to rate with ZERO star. COMPLETE NIGHTMARE! DO NOT USE Aquatic Design & Service Group or any company by Robert (Robbie) Keri! I hired Aquatic Designs to do weekly pool service. At the time, they were the only ones I could find in the area taking new customers. it has been an ABSOLUTE nightmare. Contract breached when they (and I mean Robby because he can't keep a crew) didn't show for cleanings or popped in late Saturday nights on his way home. Dumped chemicals into pool that eroded the bottom of the pool, repeatedly did a poor job cleaning, took 2 1/2 weeks to open pool, failed to start up heater (and was dishonest about it), and NEVER returned calls or text messages. Their address is a box in the local UPS store, so unless you drive up to Robby"s house in Linden, you can't even get a response. Robby promised to refund me several hundred dollars. Never happened. He took advantage knowing I was away for weeks at a time. I tried REPEATEDLY to rectify the situation before writing this. He is dishonest and will tell you a story to string you along. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We used Aquatic Design & Service Group to Open our pool on Tuesday May 18th, 2021. In their Basic Solid Cover Opening Service they include "- assemble & start up pool / spa pump, 1 booster pump, heater - re install hand rails and or ladders - vacuum pool up to 30 minutes - remove clean & fold cover - blow deck area - basic start up chemicals." Robbie Keri and his daughter came out to open our pool. They did not clean the pool cover, instead they dumped all the debris that was on the pool cover into the pool and folded up the pool cover wet and dirty and shoved it in the pool cover bag. They left two winterization plugs in, which were plugging up the pool return, so the pool was not circulating properly. The Drain Cap to our Sand Filter, which was Brand New last year of September 2020, was overtightened which cracked the drain cap. There was also some sort of putty shoved in the cap, which i imagine was to hide and cover up the damage he caused. After noticing the cracked drain cap and the plugs left in, I called several times! They do not respond to phone calls or emails in a timely manner. It took 3 1/2 weeks for someone to finally answer my calls and respond to my emails and nothing was resolved. My hope in this review is that it helps someone who is looking for a pool company to open and/or close their pool, TO STAY AWAY from Aquatic Design & Service Group. I wish I had looked at the reviews before I hired this company to open our Pool. Seeing now how many bad reviews they have with similar problems, I am shocked they are still in business! If you want to waste your time and money for terrible service then by all means use this company because that is exactly what you will receive, BAD SERVICE. read more

I would have liked to leave a better review but all these people in reviews are not wrong. I responded to their flier (which his young daughter who wants to be bussiness lawyer had made for her father to get more business).they were very nice pleasant. But their shoddy work and unreliability caused this bad review. They didn't open our pool on time last year, didn't winterize it properly by leaving plugs out causing icing and breaking of our pool skimmer pump, didn't close the pool the cover by leaving some corners open, didn't remove the leaves before closing, were quick and lazy and never bothered looking for around for the the little plugs, pins or small equipment, they would just leave things half done without asking where it is so they can finish the work properly. I really hope they read these reviews and change their ways, and maybe hire more people so they can get their work done right. Because it is a nice family owned business which I usually like to support over corporate types. But their poor performance makes me move on to someone else. read more

Are used Aquatic Design last year. They were pretty good except you can't get a hold of them. I had them open my pool last Wednesday (24May). I have called them twice since then to tell them I have a leak in my filter and the pool is not skimming correctly. I have yet to receive a phone call. Paying over $1800 for this season doesn't seem to be a good price as the first three weeks I can't even use my pool. read more

Like many others have stated, this company rates poorly on communication. When I signed up for bi-weekly cleaning and maintenance, they did not charge me the first installment as they are supposed to, and was later charged twice. Most of the time I have had to leave messages since no one answers the phone. Usually my calls are in reference to when our cleaning is scheduled because it's been two weeks and we haven't had anyone come by. Most recently I called because it has been almost three weeks, and the lady on the phone told me they were scheduled for Friday. It's Monday and no one came Friday (no door tags, someone was home all day and our pool was obviously not cleaned) and no one contacted us to say that they wouldn't make it for that time period. It is extremely frustrating to have to continually call To see when someone will actually show up. While they do a decent job when they show up, we will not be using them next season, as the unreliability is too frustrating. read more

This has been a frustrating experience to say the least. We had them install a gas heater and open our pool. It's hard to get a response from their office most times. The pool was opened, not drained down, skimmed or cleaned. Only the cover removed and chemicals added. I found out yesterday that there was no permit issued for the heater. I had to add an amended permit for the heater installation and become an electrician in the process. I do not recommend this company read more

We signed a contract with the owner of this company to have our swimming pool repaired and updated in early October, 2016. The contracted work included replacing both the tile and coping and replastering. We were assured by the owner that they were knowledgeable and fully able to both remove and replace our fully functional electronic pool cover, for which a hefty charge was included in our contract. The overall cost of the job was to be just under $19k, depending on our tile, coping, and grout choices. Nothing with this company has been easy except the signing of the contract. Our experiences have included poor communication, lack of timely follow-through, and some shoddy work requiring do-overs. The bulk of this job, the destructive phase of which began in December, 2016, was done in dribs and drabs, with long periods of inactivity and either poor or NO communication in between, over the course of nearly 8 months. We had been told by the owner upon signing the contract that the job would would take approximately three weeks, start to finish. It was, in fact, mid-June before the pool was ready for refill water delivery. Also, they could not successfully replace our electronic pool cover. They tried three times to do so, and it detached each time. We ended up calling in another company to properly and efficiently complete that part of the job in July, 2017. The final grouting of the coping stones is anticipated, but not guaranteed to be completed sometime in September, making the project, from contract signage and deposit to completion, just shy of a year-long, frustrating experience. To start off, this is my third pool company I have dealt with (only just the opening/closing and maintenance). I have dealt with at least 6 more while renovating. I can't in good conscience give anymore stars. I was debating between a 1 and a 2 star rating but the guys that opened the pool were nice and thorough. My first experience with Aquatic Designs was meeting with the owner R Kerri. I was getting quotes to expand my pool area. First, It was tough to get on his schedule. Once we did meet, he requested 2 more onsite visits (before even giving me a quote). I accommodated his request. After the last visit, I had to continually follow up with him to see if he was interested in submitting an estimate. In multiple emails he over promised and under delivered on his word (dates he provided came and went with no estimate). I don't have time to babysit someone I plan to hire. It is a bad sign they won't be very efficient should they have gotten the job. While that was in progress, I had already scheduled them to close my pool (which went well) To ensure everything is accounted for, I called a month and a half in advance for them to open my pool in the spring. This did not go smoothly at all. I was told via phone and in email that I would have at least 3-4 days notice before they showed up on the designated week since they don't make the schedule until your preferred week gets closer. I was given less than 24 hours notice with a late call on Monday night. BTW: I DID attempt to follow up with them later in the previous week to see if they had an idea of what day/time. We had to rescheduled since it wasn't enough notice. I was moved to Thursday. I had taken the day off, I was suppose to get a call in the AM to let me know of a timeframe they would be at my house. No call received. I attempted to call no less than 6 times through out the day, with no answer at all. What kind of business doesn't have someone in the office to answer the phone or provide updates? Finally near the end the day, I finally get a hold of someone. I was told if they are not there by now, they should be very shortly. She was going to call them to find out. No call back in an hour, so I call again. On this call, I find out that I had wasted the day as they were not coming but I would be a priority on Friday. What good does this do me when I planned to be home on Thursday and requested notice. Communication poor on all parts esp the owner for wasting my time and not even following up on my request if he was still interested. Communication poor on the office front for keeping customers updated. Customer service: Poor on owners part (wasting my time never to even give me a call or email indicating his interest). Poor on office part for not saying or doing anything for wasting my day and not following up to keep me posted on potential arrival. Have gone through multiple contractors, landscapers and hardscapers, I have a hard time recommending anyone of them, including Aquatic Design. If there weren't so many people in this area, I find it hard to believe anyone of them would stay in business very long. If you like or need to keep in the loop then I would say avoid this company. read more

A pool and deck remodeling with Aquatic Design was one of the worst experiences I had. I took almost one year to complete and quality was poor. During that time, there were long periods when they did not return phone calls. I had to supervise and manage their subcontractors. Their web site gives the impression that they are a reputable company. There is nothing further from the truth. read more
