Gel manicure didn't even last a week! I decided to try this place it because my usual place was closed on a Sunday. I showed up a few minutes before my appointment and was asked to take a seat in the pedicure chair immediately. I had the deluxe regular pedicure and a gel manicure. Hellen did a great job on my pedicure and spent extra time to make sure all my callouses were well taken care of. She did a great job massaging my calves and feet. I didn't catch the name of the lady doing my manicure. I thought it was just okay,, the edges were a little messy and there was gel stuck between my skin and nail bed. I don't do a lot of dishes but in less that 5 days the gel just popped off half my nail. I did appreciate the snacks and tea offered while I was waiting for my toe nails to dry. Staff was attentive but didn't make any small talk. I didn't mind it, just an observation. The location is very clean and convenient on West Portal. read more

Came in for a builder gel removal and re-application. Prices aren't bad but my nail tech was either a bit inexperienced or today was just an off day. Asked for almond french tips but upon closer inspection the application of the French tip design is uneven when I compare each finger (some are thicker than others or the tips are lopsided. I also had to remind her to apply a base pink color to cover up some discoloration and banding on my natural nail and even that was not applied evenly on each finger. Also came out of the session with a few cuts near my cuticles. I would still consider coming back just because it's in a convenient location and prices are reasonable, but probably only to do single color polish with no designs. read more

The chairs were great - super comfy and had massage features. I really liked the ladies because they were so pleasant and patient with explaining their many colors and offerings. My mani and pedi came out really clean looking... no bubbles, off lines, or chips. I also did the callous remover and she took off like 5lbs. (lol.. just kidding.. maybe not). I've been to this salon a couple of times now for gel manicures. They greet you with a warm neck pillow and offer hot water or tea which is really lovely. The salon itself is really clean and has been busy each time I've gone. I definitely recommend calling ahead to book. As for the gel manicures, they've been pretty decent. The prep is usually thorough but I find that the manicure itself doesn't last as long (chipping, peeling at the edges) as some of the other gel manicures I've gotten in SF. That being said, they have a lot of colors to choose from and the service is always really warm and friendly. read more

sigh, i hate to change a rating but todays experience has me doubting ill ever come back- just as i thought i found a place i could trust whenever i had no time to do my own nails. this is my third time back, its been nice having someone else do my nails even though i love doing my own (just time consuming). i made an appt with the same lady ive been seeing and still had to wait 45 min. honestly this didnt bother me too much at the time since two other staff checked in on me a few times and offered tea but looking back i realized how much time i wasted even with an appt :/ i asked my nail tech if she was able to do the nail design i showed her and gave her two diff options, also stating that if she cant then its okay i can choose something else, and she said confidently that she was able to do it, and since she has done well the past two times i trusted her. unfortunately it rlly did not look like the picture at all and i was rlly trying to trust her process and give her the benefit of the doubt. ended up hating it after leaving the shop and was charged over $100 for it. just upsetting cus i know i couldve done it myself but still had to pay for bad results. went home and immediately filed down the design and redid them :( i did appreciate the time she spent on shaping. also asked for builder gel and to keep the length of my natural nails. didnt realize till after i left and looked under my nails that she drilled my natural nail down when she used the nail bit to shape my nails. so upsetting because i clearly told her to keep it and i have been growing them out. and lastly she was using a wooden box as an arm rest which was so uncomfortable... those cost less than $15 i hope they consider investing in that. read more

I visited the salon the first time on 2/21. I scheduled for a hard gel manicure and pedicure. My technician's were great, which made it hard to not give it 5 stars. I was there for more than 3 hours due to staff shortages but Hannah, who was more than apologetic and even provided me with a discount for waiting. Mya, did an excellent job with my pedicure too. What made the rating go down for me was at the end, another technician approached me about leaving a tip! I was there for 3hrs, not once did anyone else get asked, I was the only customer, which made me feel uncomfortable. I planned to leave a tip but not to be pressured, which left an undesired taste in my mouth. If it wasn't for that , I would possibly consider running back to DND. read more

they are awful with scheduling they tell you yes to a time then make you wait 20 min. then proceed to take forever to do their job, the pedicures are good and there manicure work is good as well. they took 2 and a half hours for a fill. and second they do not communicate prices very well until your ready to pay. If you want overpriced mani and pedis and wait forever then highly recommend. read more
