I live in Los Angeles but whenever I'm in SF I must get my nails done at Fabulous nails! They are the best and pay close attention to details. I've been getting gel manicures for a decade and I can admit I'm particular. My nails never chip or break after getting my nails done here!

GO HERE. This is my new favorite nail salon. I had been going to the other well known one on Geary but had some frustrating encounters, plus the quality of the manicure and polish was disappointing. Don't let the outside appearance of this place fool you. The results are fantastic. My manicure is well shaped and glossy. They do an excellent job!!!!

Sometimes you need a little self-care. And when I'm in need of a professional mani/ pedi (and don't have the time or patience to do it myself), Kelly is the person to transform your nails. Quality is consistent. Whether you're getting a gel or regular manicure, my nails are solid for weeks. Kelly and her team take the time to clean up those cuticles and leave your hands feeling lighter. I do wish sometimes the hand massages are a bit longer since they're achy from the Monday through Friday grind, but overall I'm left with wonderful nails that often others notice and say positive things about. I have nothing but positive things to say about this salon as they are never rushing the process or rushing you out. Reasonable prices and quality polishes. Would recommend and have been returning for years.

I don't recommend this nail place if you're looking for a dip manicure. I only do dip because of how long it lasts but 24 hrs later the gel top that they put on instead of a dip top coat pealed. A few days after that the dip is chipped and snagging. They also cut my cuticles way too much giving me hang-nails all week.

Great job! Very attentive and particular with details. Kelly rocks! She is an artist and the quality of her manicure is hard to find. I also need special attention to my pedicure and Fong always Gets it right. I found them about a year ago and I had not been disappointed since I started coming to them my every two weeks. Sometimes you find yourself waiting for a little longer then you have planned, but when your nails are done, you know it's worth a wait!

I've been coming to Fabulous Nail Spa for over 7 years, and I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else. The team is always so welcoming, professional, and consistent. Every manicure and pedicure is done with incredible attention to detail, and my nails always look amazing. The salon is clean, the service is outstanding, and they truly care about their clients. Was looking for a spot walking distance from where I was staying and chose this salon. We went in the middle of the day on a weekday but still called ahead to make an appointment. In my opinion, it really makes no difference whether you walk in or make an appointment because they will always say they can take you. I kind of think it would be better if they didnt do this because on the day I went there were only 3 people working and nearly all the chairs for customers were full. This meant that one person was simultaneously handling 3-4 peoples nails at the same time making the process a bit long. It seemed decently sanitary but something that was tough is that they were a tad rough and the person I was with got a couple of cuts :( Overall would factor in a bit of extra time when you estimate getting your nails done here. read more

I have been getting gel nails for many years now, and I can honestly say this salon is the best I've ever been to. Got a regular mani and pedi - $65. A bit more expensive than other salons but the service was amazing. They took me in immediately even without an appointment and paid tons of attention to detail to every single thing. The chairs were comfortable and everything was very hygienic. I had to leave in an hour so they gave me slippers to wear outside instead of my sneakers. 10/10 service! read more

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I am pretty rough with my nails, workout a lot and am constantly washing dishes or my hands. Never found a service that would last more than 5 days without chipping. Fabulous is AMAZING, my nails last soooo long!!! Best nail spa in the city hands down! read more

I came here to get my acrylic nails removed and a gel manicure. This is by far the best experience I've had when it comes to getting acrylics removed. They were extremely gentle and took their time to soak them off/file. My gel manicure came out beautiful and the paint job is spectacular considering I got a light color. The shop is extremely clean and so is their bathroom. I called beforehand and appreciate them sticking to their word when it came to pricing because a lot of places try to switch up on you when you come in. read more

I have visited several salons in the area and this one by far is the best. I experienced a gel manicure and a regular pedicure both have lasted for two weeks at this point and I was camping and boating last weekend . I think I will be returning. Wife and I called beforehand, and they said they could accommodate both of us for 2 pedis and 1 mani. Wife picked her color and someone started on her immediately, it took 10 minutes before someone started my pedi, and the water had become lukewarm at that point. The older woman who did my pedicure didn't acknowledge me at all and finished in about 10 more minutes. My wife's pedicure continued for another 15 minutes (before applying color) while I sat there. we ended up declining the manicure as I was already annoyed and thought they forgot as they didn't even ask either of us about it. When paying, I thought maybe they charged a males pedicure price so it was shorter, but they charged us the same and there's no "menu" so you can't argue with them. Felt very taken advantage of. read more

I came in for a last minute gel extension and regular pedicure before a trip. I stopped by late Friday during spring break so I think a lot of people were out of town- it was not busy for a Friday. I was seated right away and the environment was clean, vibe relaxed. Everyone who assisted with the mani pedi was gentle and did a wonderful job. I love going to this shop! They are VERY meticulous with cuticle and nail care, with fantastic attention to detail getting all the dead skin, impacted areas, cuticles cleared; both with manicures and pedicures. I've shown examples of some nail design photos and explained how i wanted the designs to be a bit different- each time loving the results. Highly recommend! read more

Rating is not great, rating is excellent/fabulous! I am with Kelly 3 years. I and my husband are lucky to have this fabulous salon close to our house. Kelly is very talent, creative, the quality of her Manicure and Pedicure are amazing. I need a special attention to do my toenail. Ingrown toenails are very painful and Kelly spends a lot of time to remove it. She works as the surgery doctor. When I came the first time, my toenails looked very bad. Kelly looked at it and said in some day they will be in excellent condition. It is happened. Thank you a lot. Also I would like to point that Kelly incredible Mother, Very nice looking women, hard worker. Her team is great. Always smile, respect each other, and learn from Kelly (she is expert) Always we have great time being there. If you like being treated disrespectfully and with no consideration, then this is the place for you!! After making an appointment days prior, we arrived on time to be told to wait 10 minutes (no big deal) which turned into 20 minutes waiting outside on a bench in the cold. We were waved inside where we waited another 25 minutes, all while being told they were going to get to us right away. After someone walked in off the street and sat down in a pedicure chair, started getting her pedicure immediately, we went to leave. They apologized and the woman actually said should I come back later and instead of telling her to come back later she started her pedicure & were again told how sorry they were and that they were getting to us right away. 45 minutes too late. Initially I was just going to get a gel pedicure but as soon as I sat down and one of the ladies helped me adjust the massage chair I decided to get a mani too. Jen did my pedicure and Y did my manicure. Both had very nice attention to detail and at some point between a flow state and sensory experience I think I fell asleep. It was very relaxing! Jen has very strong hands and I upgraded to an extra 10 minute massage. I would have paid for an hour if that was available! I asked Y for super short nails and she accommodated me with finesse. I particularly loved the scrub and the steaming hot towels they used. I chose a very subtle natural pink and it looks so pretty in the sun. Also, it should be noted that their massage chairs are excellent! I'm so happy to they came outside to help me decide to go in otherwise I might have missed a great experience. 10/10 will definitely be back!

She also shaped my nails carefully. I was happy with the service for the price and they didn't try to upsell me or get me to add on more services. I gave a $5 tip. Will definitely be coming back if I need to get my nails done!

However, my last visit left me a little disappointed because while it was extremely relaxing and the service was great, I'm not so happy with how my actual nails turned out :-( I did the Volcano Spa service for both my pedicure and manicure which were absolutely lovely, along with gel remove and gel on both my fingers and toes. The 10 minutes of massage for both were so nice, especially the shoulders and upper back that came with the manicure. But during the gel remove, the gel on my fingers was removed with the drill. It was the same on my toes but I don't have an issue there. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my natural fingernails were drilled down so thin that even though I cut my nails short, they're ripping at the ends with normal daily wear and tear. I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength. UPDATE 8/4 9:48PM: Another nail ripped pretty far down just from scratching my head :-(

A very tasteful, custom design for an 11 y.o. They lasted almost 4 weeks but finally time to take them off. We made an appt for 2:30 today and due to Jenny not getting the message we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Not the biggest deal, really nice out and our favorite boba spot just a few blocks down Polk St. When we got back the other woman in the shop started taking off the gels, they were taking a while to saturate enough to fully remove so the cotton with acetone and foil had to stay on longer. My daughter's fingers started burning and when we let them know, Jenny prompted the other woman to take a look. Not ready yet so while the owner was finishing up with another client this other woman needed to take care of it. At one point a customer had to ask this other woman to help my daughter, that she would kindly wait. It took over an hour to remove and clean up her nails, no manicure after. Two hours later my daughter's poor fingers are still burning. Jenny was quite apologetic and adjusted the price as a courtesy. We love Jenny but maybe she needs some more support in her shop.

I just had a wonderful experience at Fabulous Nail Spa on Clement! I got a pedicure, and the level of attention to detail and care was exceptional from start to finish. Jo was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure I was happy every step of the way. She listened carefully to what I wanted, helped me choose a color I loved, and checked in throughout the service to make sure everything was just right. The pedicure was thorough, relaxing, and beautifully done. You can tell they genuinely care about their clients and take pride in their work.
