This is by far the best place I have ever been too for tacos!!! The people who work here are such hard workers! We had a large group of people walk in 20 mins before closing and they made everything for us just like we were there first customers of the day and even let us stay late in there seating area. We fell for the hype surrounding this place and decided to try it. Well...we tried several times, but failed. Once, we showed up to order tacos, but they said they were only taking phone orders. Another time, we called to place an order, but they told us they were only taking walk-ins. We tried again, weeks later, and managed to place an order. I ordered a chicken taco, a chorizo taco, and a marinated pork taco. It was underwhelming. First of all, they are small, but inexpensive. The ingredients were a little overcooked, but not horrible. The problem is the tortillas. They are flavorless and chewy. I honestly don't know why they bothered to throw it on the grill, since it wasn't cooked long and could have just been used right out of the bag. I must say that the salsa was terrific, though. I'm not quite sure why so many people love this place. Maybe they are influenced by all of the online hype. All I can say is that, to me, Taco Bell is better...and they suck. read more

The tacos are awesome. I had 2 tacos that were a special, chicken mole poblano and a pork rib jalapeño. The mole had a great depth of flavor. Customer service was on point. They brought out chips and salsa because I suppose they thought I was waiting too long for my takeout order. I'll certainly be frequenting Aqui Es more often. read more

WOW!!! Do not walk in the door unless you are prepared for better Mexican food than one can find anywhere south of the Rio Grande (Google it for any of you are geographically limited). Complimentary chips were delivered to our table that were so hot you had to be careful to not burn your mouth - - - that is the definition of FRESH! Between my wife and I we tried 5 different kinds of tacos that were all excellent. I highly suggest you add the beans & rice as a side dish, even if you are not hungry enough to polish off your plate of food. The only regret we have is that we do not live anywhere near Bethlehem and this place makes all of the Mexican food back in our town taste like slop. read more

Went to this no frills, but very reasonably priced place for the first time last night and have mixed reviews: the tacos and quesadilla were fantastic, the burrito not so much. We tried the pork and pineapple, the chorizo sausage and the steak tacos. All three were great, very fresh ingredients and delicious. We also tried a chicken quesadilla which was out of this world and possibly the best quesadilla we've ever had. Our last plate was a burrito. What a disappointment! It was very bland and just seemed like mush in a tortilla wrap. Definitely a letdown after the delicious tacos and quesadilla. Also wanted to comment that the two young ladies working the counter were extremely sweet and helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Super fresh! Delicious and authentic. The people here are very friendly and provide great service. What a great find! We got carnitas quesadilla, cheese quesadilla, a few tacos, rice & beans, and the guacamole. OK...I was hungry but at least it's not all for me. Lol. Best Mexican food in Bethlehem. And no, this is not a remark I made without trying the other ones. I have tried every one of them and even though there are a couple of restaurants in Allentown who might challenge them, this IS the best in Bethlehem. For those of you who believe establishments like "on the border" and "fiesta ole" serve "amazing" Mexican food, please stop reading and accept my sincere sympathies. First things first. Aqui Es is tucked away in a easy to miss location on Linden street. Across the street from D'Williams (a wonderful establishment for Dominican and Puerto Rican food), right next to a chinese take away. It has a couple of tables in the front room and a bigger dining room at the back. The menu is simple, no frills, Mexican fast food. Tacos, Tortas, Quesadillas and Burritos. We ordered the three taco special (5$), fried tacos (4.50$), one spicy pork quesadillas and a steak quesadillas (6.50$ each). I have been to Mexico, I have had the real thing and I can safely say, this place makes one of the best tacos in the Lehigh Valley (there are not many contenders, El Patron and Taqueria el jalapeno in Allentown can match this place). The thing that stands out, is freshness and quality. They make their own tortillas and the food is cooked right in front of you. They even make their own nachos. There are 4 types of home made sauces you can have. Tomatillo chilli, avacado-jalapeno, a red hot sauce and a milder sauce. I loved their avocado-jalapeno sauce. It has a burst of freshness from the avocado, a tinge of citrus and then a beautiful heat from the jalapenos that follows. The fried taco was sensational. Fresh, fried tortillas with delicious ground meat, fresh lettuce and cheddar cheese. You need to try it for yourself and also spare me drooling on my keyboard while I describe it. The tacos (normal) were perfect. Very generous filling of our choice of meat and just delicious. I had the marinated pork taco and the chorizzo taco, with a liberal sprinkling of lime juice and a combination of their avocado-jalapeno sauce. The quesadillas were also really flavorful. Yes they do not have much on their menu and yes they do not serve margaritas. But so what? Help yourself to some homemade horchata or some jaritto soda and you shall be treated to a wonderful meal. And oh! They are cash only, so do not forget that and give them a bad review for not having a credit card machine. 30$ will give you a gigantic meal for two, with leftovers.
