Something I love about this store is that several times a year, they select a nonprofit to run a donation drive for. You can buy items they put on a shelf for the nonprofit and the items go directly to that agency. It is so nice to see stores organizing for the community!

The pandemic has exposed the terrible business model of scrapbook expo. They sell tickets and take…read moredeposits from vendors and then spend the money in advance of the event. So when all of the events were canceled all they could do was make excuses and issue certificates for future events. Major vendors have left since they lost so much money and saw the true nature of this business. So now the events going forward will be much smaller. A certificate for one of these future events instead of a refund of the ticket price paid in 2019 is not an equal substitute. Meanwhile the company is holding online events for which they are collecting fees, but still no refunds. Support your local scrapbook store instead or go to one of the events that vendors who have left expo are now doing independently.

Screw it, just glue it…read more What's not to love about a three day weekend that involves your favorite hobby. The people at Scrapbook Expo Sacramento do a great job. Next year's schedule is already posted to their website. Everything you need to know and get ready for an expo is right there. I have been to over 10 expos since it started. It's held downtown at the convention center. We have an area the size of a football field set up so we can scrap from 8 am to midnight Friday and Saturday and 3pm to midnight Thursday. At the crops they offer use of a large work station with various scrapbooking tools. Prizes are drawn all evening long. On Thursday night there are 10 make and takes included in the evening. Next door to the scrap area is a shopping center that fits onto another football field. Name brand suppliers and some smaller companys bring the latest products to demo and sell. You can shop til you drop Friday and Saturday 9-5. Over 50 instructional classes are also offered in adjacent classrooms for two days. If you think you might want to start scrapbooking or card marking this event could truly get you hooked. If you are an old pro at it, this is an all around great venue to enjoy your craft.

They all worked on the card and the results blew me away. I wanted to be able to keep it and look at it forever, but it was fragile and needed expert framing. A friend suggested Artistic Edge, and the rest is history. Jessica spent the best part of an hour with me going over all the various possibilities. The color of the frame, the size, the matting, the various parts next to each other, the weight of what would be the final product. She acted like I was the only person of importance throughout all of this back-and-forth as I changed my mind over and over. Finally I was ready, and she said that it would be ready by X amount of time --- probably a bit sooner. Off I went. WEEKS before the date promised Kathy called and said the artwork was ready. When I arrived and saw it displayed I cried --- it was exactly what I wanted and ever so much more! Kathy talked to me --- and LISTENED --- as though I was the most important person in the world at that moment --- I told her all about who made the sticker card artwork and when and why, and she just listened and smiled and chatted and was wonderful. I took my artwork home, hung it up, and took pictures for all the sticker artists to enjoy. Everything has come out perfectly! This is a beautiful, meaningful, lovely piece of art, in the absolutely perfect frame. Artistic Edge did an awesome job --- they respected the artwork, they respected me, they threw their artistic talents into this, and I feel that at the same time they got a kick out of doing it. We all of us have beautiful, meaningful artistic treasures hanging around our homes. I can promise you that if you bring them in, Artistic Edge will give them glory in a whole new dimension!
