This is the second time I have called Aragon Appliance repair to fix my washer (2 different problems). The first time was before the lock down in December, and the second was today, April 17, 2020. Both experiences were very good. I was so happy that they were operating and able to come out for the repair today. They wore gloves and masks and were very respectful of communicating with us while observing social distancing. The repair was fast and inexpensive. All the bad reviews caused to have doubt to contact them to have my gas stove repaired. I got over my bad feeling yesterday and walked in to Aragon Appliance yesterday afternoon and made an appointment with Collin for the next day. Collin called me today around 10am and came in to my place with his colleague and fixed my gas stove in 15mins or so. My experience with their punctuality, customer service and skill is 10 out of 10. Worked with this company when Mr Arogan owned it. New management was OK for a short while but turned into a mess of terrible communication, bad follow up, much attitude and then it started to cost me. Billed for repairs not done on a heater for a tenant and also sold me a lemon dryer! Should be renamed "Arrogant Appliance"! BUYER BEWARE --- 2014 - Wrote the above in 2011, and after reading some of the other negative experiences, thought I would put some more details to it. I have many rentals in San Pedro area and was very happy when Arogan himself owned this service shop. His sale to Colin seemed to make things go downhill fast. I paid for a wall heater repair in a unit, that I found out later he subbed out to someone else without telling me, for a $200+ service job to repair. As long as it's done I guess, no problem. Winter comes around and tenant calls me back with no heat, and then I'm told that it will cost me $200+ to make it work ... huh? Colin wouldn't stand behind his mistake apparently since he was out the money for subbed out service not delivered and I guess that's my fault, so I get to eat the bill ... I got someone else and we just replaced the heater, which is something I could easily have done with Colin in the first place, if he was honest with me. Another sale, I ended up buying a 'great buy' from his call to me on a used commercial dryer. It kept quitting on me, and after a few calls, Colin basically yelled at me on the phone and said he no longer wanted my business since I had the audacity to call his cell phone on Sunday (a number he gave me). Although he didn't offer any solution to either problem. Net net, I am out well over $500 for these two encounters, and no more. The man has real temper issues, decision problems, and is very conflicted apparently. I prefer to support local businesses in San Pedro area, and would hope that this 'gentleman' would get some help for his problems. Again, BUYER BEWARE PS - be sure to go to the bottom and also review Yelps 'not recommended' reviews. For some odd rationale that one can only feel is to boost the overall rating a bit on this and other companies, all the ratings are one star negative experiences that really don't fit any valid reason for not being included in the overall rating on this company, if Yelp is truly desiring of protecting the consumer. read more

This review is long overdue. Called Aragon Appliance back in August, which as stated by previous reviews is under NEW ownership. Wally (sorry if I misspelled your name) came out to look at our front load washer which had stopped working. He diagnosed it and found the issue, luckily he had the replacement part with him which was the water pump. In less than an hour, I had a working washing machine. Great service at a reasonable price. Will definitely use again! Do not let the low ratings keep you from contacting this company. The new owner is efficient and knows what he's doing. The service/diagnostic visit is a reasonable rate and if you decide you want the repairs done, the initial diagnostic visit cost is applied towards any repair cost. read more

The owner came to my house to measure for a refrigerator. He noticed I was a veteran and gave me his B.S. I am a veteran too thing. I told to just please make sure you measure that refrigerator fits into our space. He delivered the frig when my wife was home. I sent her picture of the one I bought so she knew. Well it was not the same frig. It was very loose and the doors were coming off. It was too big for the space. Of course I complained and said he needed to fix this. He left the frig but gave me some other story how he hasn't had a vacation in years and its going to take awhile for him to call around. We waited a week and contacted him. First my wife called and he was very rude to her we have a voice recording of him cursing at her. Obviously I was upset and went over there after work. As soon as he saw me he ran out the store. His wife/secretary was trying to console me and she said he didn't mean to be rude but he gets upset if people don't let him vent. I told the wife we do not care about his personal problems we want our damn frig or our money back. She said there is a no return no refund policy so this will be the very first man I am talking to court. I will also pay for a month worth of ads stating our grievances and how this man stole $650 from us and at no time tried to make it right. The only reason I give this place a 1 star is that Kathy, the sales representative, did a wonderful and thoughtful job with a top level of customer service. We want to fully support San Pedro's small businesses and gave every benefit of the doubt with this business. We even didn't do our usual internet review research to find out if we should or shouldn't go with Aragon. We walked in, Kathy asked if we were looking for anything and we were and the store didn't have what we needed. She said that they get new products all the time and that she could take our number and call us if anything comes in. Three weeks come by and we got a call from Kathy that a washer/dryer unit came in (actually two kinds) and that they wanted to give us the first opportunity as we were on their list. I hadn't had the time to follow up and Kathy ended up calling at least two more times during the day to make sure she informed me of the product be available. Well, we finally made it to the store and were quite excited about the purchase. We left please however didn't arrange for a delivery of the W/D until a few days later. I noticed that there was no info on the sales slip and called to get the model number to do some research if there were any manufacture issues with the W/D. Kathy was kind enough to provide me the model number. As I researched the item I became a bit concerned as I couldn't find any current info or reviews about the product. I didn't happen to mention that I was told that the item I bought is "brand new" the later stated as "new, never used". So I finally called Sears and gave them the model number as found out that the W/D was built in 1998??? What?? and it was "New" or "never used?" I called back and Collen, the owner answered and what a flip in how a customer is treated. Like other reviewers have claimed, Aragon should be called Arrogant Appliance. Now I know why! When I spoke to the owner he got all hot and bothered about me asking questions about the product and if I have doubts now then "return it? I was shocked and didn't want to return it. I just called to ask when the item was built and asked if he could look in the back near the serial number. So Collen got even more upset accusing me that I don't want the product and that he doesn't want to sell it to me if I'm gonna complain and expect problems. He said that he can sell the item in no time and that anyone else would want it and buy it right away. Collen was quite rude and arrogant in the way he spoke to me and was quite irritated of me taking the time to actually find out more info about what I was buying. At the end, I went with my gut and decided to get a refund. I spoke to Kathy and informed her of the rudeness and arrogance of Collen and that we really wanted to support a small business in the neighborhood. After that melee I was like "no way, I can and will spend my money elsewhere." I reluctantly came in the next day to get a refund and Kathy was there. She was sad but not surprised to see us come in to request a refund. We told her that after reading the other reviews that we probably wouldn't have purchased from Aragon and that our experience was identical to those who gave Aragon a 1 star. So, with that, buyer beware and I feel lucky as I could not imagine what it would be like to call Aragon and speak to Collen to have him service my product within the warranty period. read more

I am normally reluctant to write bad reviews but it's been over 24 hours since I last spoke to Aragon and I am still stunned by the appalling customer service experience*. I am an unfailingly polite and patient person so I am pretty sure their weird, flaky incompetence was unearned by me. I don't want to give too many details about this experience because I think it would identify me to the owners but suffice to say, they won't be around for long if they continue to operate as they are now. The very, very, very short story is that they made an appointment for me, then told me they weren't going to take the job, that "it was the owner's decision", then told me they didn't have anybody to actually do the job. Horrible cannot even describe this business. Apparently, making an appointment is also a waste of time. They have horrendous customer service, a rude dispatch and they have a phone number that consistently has a full voicemail and no other options for contact are provided. At first I just thought it was a bit of a miscommunication and just missing each other due to all the parties involved having a busy life style. But they actually don't pick up their phone., they don't return phone calls in a timely fashion and when they do, it's your fault that their phone doesn't work. More importantly, they are extremely rude and abrasive to their clients. Mind you, clients who actually pay and can bring them more business. I'm not really sure what their business hours are but it really does not matter, because there is no way of knowing if they are available or not. After reading all of the negative reviews, I was skeptical. But this place is close to our new home. After waiting for several months to find a deal on a used washer and dryer, and someone who would deliver, we thought we'd give it a shot. The gentleman who helped us was extremely friendly. My husband and I told him we needed a washer and dryer set, and we picked it out within 10 minutes, paid the man and had it delivered and set up the next day. They only charged us $15 for delivery and set up. It only took them about 15 minutes to bring the set in, hook up the gas and start spinning. I am extremely happy with my experience with Aragon!! I would highly recommend them if you are looking for gently used appliances. My washer/dryer set looks almost brand new. You can't beat that for $350. read more

This place should not be in business. The used items they say are in working condition are NOT. I purchased a refrigerator from them and a couple days after it started making a really loud knocking noise. They came to look at it and because they couldn't fix it they brought me another one. Well the 2nd fridge started leaking. They came to "fix" the problem and asked to use my hair blow dryer! I was confused as to why they wanted my blow dryer but I brought it to them anyway. They used my blow dryer to melt the ice that had built up all over the freezer. So unprofessional. They said they fixed it and left. I knew then I should've told them to take their shitty fridge back. But gave them the benefit of the doubt. Fridge started leaking again about a month later. Same issue. I called them again and they came back. This time they brought their own equipment to melt the ice all over the freezer. The owner told me it was completely "fixed" and it wouldn't happen again. Well it did! I called again to report the same issue and the owner was extremely rude and would not let me finish my sentences. He kept interrupting and speaking over me. I got fed up and raised my voice and told him to stop being rude. In the end he would not send anyone to fix it although it was the exact same issue. I was in the market for a dryer... mine broke and I wanted one now. Went to Aragon Appliance Repair in San Pedro. He not only repairs appliances but sells them as well: mostly used, but sometimes has new ones as well. For $250.00 I bought a 3 year old Kenmore Elite extra large capacity dryer: tax, delivery, installation, and hauling away the old one. Said they would deliver between 11and 1: it's 11:30 and he's installing it as I'm writing this. Great service, friendly owner. Collin will take good care of you! read more

My experience was very good with Aragon. I bought a dryer for a rental unit at a very good price, but it quit heating 7 months later. I caIled Aragon and Collin met me at the property a few days later, on time, and he checked out the dryer. He replaced the coil, explaining the lint trap needed to be cleaned regularly or next time the heating element might be need replacing, which would be more expensive. He charged me just for the part, and that was it, no drama. I felt I got a good used dryer priced right, and was taken care of when the appliance acted up. What a crook!!!!! The wife wrote down the demensions of the size the W/D stackable unit would be cause I needed a certain size for an apartment. Then Colin, the husband said he needed a $100.00 deposit because electric stackable units are hard to unload. When I went in to get the unit, it was a much bigger unit than they claimed it would be. Avoid this business at all costs. We bought a used Thermador range from Aragon for $1700. As they sell new for over $10,000 and we love to cook, we were pretty excited. When it was sold to us we were told we had a 3 month guarantee. From the first day, one of the burners did not work. Not even a little. Not a click. We called the owner... repeatedly... and were told over and over that he had ordered the part but it would take a while. Kept calling... kept getting the same answer. Finally we just stopped calling. The oven also needs calibrating and we are willing to pay someone to do all these repairs. we even would have paid Aragon. But not now. Horrible customer service. Before Thanksgiving I had a problem with my oven. Called for service. Needed to order part. Couldn't find part. I found part in a few minutes on the internet. Said oh, he found it the same day. Wanted me to order part. Told him to order. Two weeks later after many patient calls he replaced the part. Oven still does not work. Told him and his receptionist Still did not have knob, on back order for two weeks. After two weeks I called to see if knob came in. He screamed at me on the phone not his only customer...said You didn't tell me oven doesn't work." "what time do you get home" 4:00. "I'll be there at 4:00. Never showed. Xmass is next week and oven still does not work. Already paid him and now I have to pay another repair person to fix my oven . We bought a stove, refrigerator, washer, and dryer through Aragon when we moved to our new place. They hooked them all up incorrectly. The refrigerator leaked water, our gas got shut off by the gas company because there was a gas leak because Aragon used the wrong parts to hook things up. The gas company referred to their handy work as a "Mickey Mouse" job - he was shocked at their incompetence! And the washer stained our clothes. I can't believe they're still in business. read more

Worst experience ever!!! I ordered a fridge and Kathy said everything was included including hoses. I now dont have an ice maker. But what did it was the washer and dryer!!!!! i ordered a washer and dryer through them. Kathy said that they had a washer and dryer that was ready and perfect.And if you ever call you will see how she sugar coats it. The guys came to bring me the washer and dryer. after installing one of the guys said it needed a piece. I patiently waited.I called and spoke with Kathy regarding when the piece would be installed. The only information she would give me was that she was still waiting for Colin to called her back . After 5 times of calling Colin answered and said he had 2 in the store and he would send someone to install it. Biggest mistake ever. One of the guys came and installed the piece and said it was ready to be used.!!!! I turned the washer on and luckily i was close to it and notice my kitchen was flooded!!!! i then turned around and turned the water off! then started cleaning it while calling Colin the owner. He did not once apologize but did state accidents happen. He also said if there was any water damage he would not be responsible for. His response was that i was overreacting!!! I just moved in to this apt and the last thing i would want is water damage that Colin said he would not be responsible for because accidents happen. The only suggestion he had was he would have the guys pick up the washer and dryer and give me my money back. i am only giving one star because zero stars is not an option. this is THE ABSOLUTE WORST 'establishment' i have EVER stepped foot in. i wish i would've read these Yelp reviews prior to buying my used refrigerator here. a week after having the refrigerator, my apartment (that i just moved into & hadn't even been there 2 weeks) was INFESTED with cockroaches that were COMING FROM THE REFRIGERATOR!!! it was so bad they were even coming out of the vents INSIDE of the refrigerator. not only was i infested with cockroaches, but the refrigerator was also leaking all over my kitchen floor. i called Collin (the 'owner') immediately to tell him the problems i was having. he had the AUDACITY to raise his voice & curse at me when he is the one who sold me a BROKEN INFESTED refrigerator. there was a 30 day warranty & he would not switch it out or give me a refund. then he had the nerve to tell me that my apartment must have already had cockroaches in it. that's funny because of two reasons; 1) I JUST MOVED IN & OUR MAINTENANCE CO. SPRAYED OUR APARTMENT PRIOR TO US MOVING IN & 2) his own employee admitted that this was not the first or even SECOND time he's heard about the cockroach issue. i have been in customer service for 10 years, am a business owner myself & manage two other establishments .. i can't even FATHOM treating my clients/customers the way he treated me. after my experience here i reported them to the Health Department & BBB! this place is a JOKE & should be shut down.
