Absolutely disgraceful and unpatriotic display of American flags! I visited the garden section of the San Pedro Home Depot today and was shocked and offended to see dozens of packaged American flags stacked directly on the dirty concrete floor like cheap merchandise. These are symbols of our nation, not floor mats or clearance junk! The U.S. Flag Code clearly states that the flag should never touch the ground, yet here they are piled up in a dusty corner, completely disregarded. This level of disrespect is unacceptable from a major American company like Home Depot. It sends a terrible message about how little they value patriotism and the sacrifices made by our veterans and service members. Management clearly doesn't care, and the employees who set up this display should be ashamed. I won't be shopping here again until they issue a public apology and commit to treating the American flag with the respect it deserves. Do better, Home Depot. This is an embarrassment. read more

Hey Home Depot. It's your old pal Paul. Love Home Depot. I've rebuilt 7 houses with you. But not a fan of the San Pedro store! The lumber and building materials sections in particular are a mess. But that's the tip of the iceberg. Much of your inventory is stuffed in the wrong place, mismarked and disorganized leading to inaccurate on hand availability info. It's crazy. Today I spent 45+ wasted minutes with 4 associates and also a manager hunting for products. So many items in the wrong place! They threw up hands and agreed it's a big problem. And this has been ongoing for quite a while. Today I gave up and drove to Carson where the product was stocked in the exact location I see online. I arrived early in the morning. I had a minor plumbing problem at my work. I was able to find what I needed quickly. I was also looking for an unrelated garden supply that I was able to locate as well. The plumbing item was at a reasonable price and I purchased it the garden supply was way more expensive than ordering it from Walmart or Amazon. And it was a smaller sized package I passed. We were looking for a Christmas blow-up, but they were completely out of stock...except for the display, which was the very last one. I dealt with them both separately for the same order. From start to finish, both Maryann and Dave went above and beyond to help me order a new oven. They were consistently kind, patient, and professional, and their knowledge of the products made the entire process smooth and stress-free. What really stood out was their follow-through where they made sure every detail was handled correctly, which gave me complete confidence in my purchase. Don't use Home Depot home delivery unless they actually have item in the store when you order. I ordered a window from HD. It took 2 days to cross the country but despite being already late it will take at least another 1 week to travel 50 miles to my home. You can pick it up at "last mile" carriers warehouse either. This destroys the entire value of home delivery and the experience. Everybody washes their hands if the problem. The person to blame is unknowable and unreachable. read more

Most Home Depots are located near busy intersections or in shared crowded shopping centers but this one in San Pedro sits alone and that's a bonus for easy entrance/exit. It also doesn't have the same rushed feeling you get at some others, where people are scurrying around like ants trying to find the correct sugar cube (I mean box of nails). Yes, there's still searching to be done but it feels a little less holiday season, get those decorations on sale, oh and I forgot to get a replacement fluorescent bulb, kind of energy. I purchased a Range and dishwasher back in November was excited to receive before the holidays was scheduled to be delivered on the 16th of December with no phone call or any info I receive an email delivery has been rescheduled till the 31st December wow I could have then purchased the actual dishwasher I wanted. well they come the young men they inform me they could not install said dishwasher has to have junction box so I had done next day called back out now I need them to come in the afternoon because I have now started a new job work long hours they called at 9 am on day of install , I am not home of course I asked if they could come in the later afternoon they said no I called the dispatch the girl was rude ended up hanging up on me so I had to reschedule through Home Depot again I said I need afternoon. Well guess what they come in the morning so I had to start calling people to ask someone to go there to let them in to install this dishwasher now they are telling me that parts are missing they can't install I need to call Home Depot so they can replace oh wow I go in the store Spoke to Irene which is the only person who has understood and tried to help me the supervisors and managers and everyone else there do not try to help resolve they dismiss the fact that we are in February and still don't have this dishwasher installed I have been waiting a week now have not heard from them Irene was off a few days last week so I was thrown to the wolves they offered a 200 to get the junction box I already had that done so I said no I want a new dishwasher. So it's been a week and not one person has reached out to resolve this matter So I called today I was told that since I refused the 200 dollars for a junction box that I already paid someone to install that they can't do anything for me They said if I want a different dishwasher since I feel this is not a good one , the installer also sugared to have this exchanged in his notes so I was told today that I had to bring this one to Home Depot myself wow no kind of customer service when they are the ones who delivered with missing parts I still need to purchase other appliances I will NEVER purchase anything from Home Depot EVER NOT EVEN A PLANT .... On Friday, May 24th my husband visited your store with the intent to purchase a $449 Weber grill. After walking the aisles for several minutes seeking assistance from an associate and not finding one, he placed the order online. Online ordering indicated the grill would be assembled prior to delivery. Delivery was scheduled for Sunday, May 26th - the day before Memorial Day. The grill did not arrive on Sunday as scheduled. On the following day, Memorial Day, OnTrac left the 97 pound grill still in the box on the sidewalk next to my porch. we were home, but OnTrac didn't bother to let us know they were delivering. If they had, we would have refused delivery of the unassembled grill. My husband decided to assemble the grill himself. The grill came with very clear instructions as to which parts are included. Approximately four screws were missing. My husband contacted the manufacturer and was told they would ship the screws, but it would take 2-4 days. He then visited your store to try to resolve the issue. Your staff confirmed that the grill should have been assembled before delivery. Your staff refused to provide screws from another grill which you had in stock. Your staff refused to try to find comparable screws in the store. Your staff told my husband that he could return the 97 pound grill himself. The grill that is in pieces at my home. I have worked in retail in the past. I understand that policies are set by the corporate office. I also understand that a good manager would try to resolve something that seems as simple as looking for screws in a flipping home improvement store to help solve a customer's issue that was caused by the store and manufacturer. You could at least give the impression that you "cared" enough to look. You couldn't bother to do that. I will assume that is because you did not have an employee on staff with the skill necessary to find a comparable screw. I could make threats and talk about how much money I have spent in your store. I won't do that. I have also had good experiences in your store. There are good people working there from my community. It makes me sad that they are associated with an employer who doesn't seem to be able to solve simple issues to maintain goodwill. read more

This morning my husband gets a call from the outsourced delivery service saying "I hope you have a major crew working because we don't have a liftgate at the back of the truck & we don't have any way to get the boards off of it now"! HUH??? It's not our problem -- it's YOUR problem -- that's why we paid for delivery! So after some back & forth (there was some hesitation of the delivery company even coming) the truck FINALLY showed up after 6 pm & our contractor, who waited around for it to show up & my husband offloaded everything. Upon entering asked for the "pick up" area and I was prompted by a woman behind the counter to go around to a certain place. Went there and met this same woman. Gave her my order number and in a rude manner she told me .. "sir, you ordered at the Carson store ... you have to go to that store" I replied , "I ordered online an item to be picked up at this store" She insisted in a rude manner, "no sir, you ordered at the Carson store so you have to go over there " Replied I was not going to go over there, I ordered an item to be pricked up at this store ...but this woman insisted "I ordered from another store" no matter what I would tell her and she claimed "there was nothing she could do ! Tired of this CS we have these days where these people disown themselves from helping the customer, rather than checking on how to solve the problem, they wash their hands and want nothing to do about the customer's problem ! Her attitude was very bad , so I asked for the store manager , but rather than doing that, she wrote a number on a piece of paper and told me ... "this is where you need to call" I told her, "I need not call anybody, I am at the Home Depot and you have to help straighten this out But she would not , so again I asked for the store manager. Finally the manager shows up, but I could see in advance his expression, like ready to go into battle to support his rude employee. And surely, he had an attitude, it was more of the same, he would raise his voice to tell me I ordered from another store which is totally wrong. I only order to pick up at my local store. More of the same, so I left the store They are not inclined at all about helping a customer, they think they are so special that they do not need to help a customer ... it is not their problem, easier is to send him away ! Left the store and from the parking lot using my cell phone I cancelled my order. Off course there was no way to file a complaint Terrible service and terrible system, designed to avoid at any cost any complaint or a review. The manager was worse than the employee, all of these staff helping each other cover up issues and rude behavior avoiding any responsibility rather than helping the customer. Looked like a bunch of teen agers at high school supporting each other into cheating. But all these people were over 50 What has happened to great old customer service ? Winter this morning to spend several hundred dollars on new lawn and garden equipment. After going to the checkout, Stan letting them know I needed to get to locked up items. No one was available to help me get to locked up items. I wasted my time going here, going to a small local hardware store or someone personally will help me and get me The items I need. The girl at the checkstand was very nice and seemed genuinely concerned that no one tried to help me. I was ignored by two other employees that I approached at the customer helpdesk. This review is for the rental of a carpet cleaner vacuum. I was helped by Litzy who did a nice job walking me through my options and how the vacuum worked. I even bought her suggested carpet cleaning solution, BUT, she unfortunately never handed the solution back over the plexiglass shield. She ended our transaction with a smile and "good luck." It was not until right before I got home that Litzy called to say, "I'm sorry, but you neve got the carpet solution." This might be on both of us, BUT, there should be an exchange BACK over the plexiglass, which SHE conducts. Just saying... Once I finally started the cleaning project, the vacuum did not properly function. The spray mode was continually stuck ON, so the second you turn the vacuum on, it sprays until the water supply is empty. I have pictures which show it leaking all over my tile floors because it's like a broken sprinkler. It was a disaster. I made an attempt to start the room I wanted clean, and it became comical as it just kept spraying water, UGH. I turned it off and returned it immediately. I could see this was not going to be my day. Just my luck, who did I get when I returned the vacuum, Litzy. While she was still nice and engaging, there was no FULL refund to be found? WHAT!?!? This damn machine is broke and basically just flooded the room, how can you possibly not FULLY refund my money!? Litzy afforded me some REALY LAME excuse about the consignment contract, and me having the vacuum for 2 hours, and 21 minutes. I rented it at 11:15, I went home, basically twice, after turning around once because of Litzy (just saying, AGAIN). When I got home, I had lunch with my family and casually rolled into the project after checking some Saturday college football scores. Yes, I returned the broken vacuum 2 hours, and 21 minutes after I rented it, but within 15 minutes of realizing the vacuum was broken. Somehow the story I just described was only worthy of a 20% refund, Incredible! Litzy, as nice as you were, you dulled out an injustice today. read more

Went to Home Depo to buy a grill for Memorial Day Weekend 2024. Bought a Weber grill in store on Thursday before Memorial Day. Used the Home Depo app because I couldn't find anyone to help me in the store. The grill had free delivery and assembly. Was scheduled to arrive on Saturday. Wasn't delivered until Sunday. It left on my porch in the box unassembled although HD was supposed to put it together. I tried to put together myself even though HD was supposed to assemble it. However, I was unable to finish putting it together because there are parts missing. Went to HD to fix the problem. They will exchange the one I bought and deliver an assembled grill. However, to get an exchange, I first need to bring the half made grill with missing parts back to the store. HD refuses to pick up the defective Weber Spirit II grill that's missing parts at my house when they bring a new grill. I even offered to pay for a new one, they pick up the defective one, and reverse the charge on the old one once they bring it back to the atore. Nope. No way. I must return it myself, which is physically impossible for this 66-year old disabled veteran. HD also refused to give me the missing parts from the grills in its store so I can finish putting together the one I have. I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company instead. They dumped a defective grill here at my house and won't pick it up. read more

We went to HD and had a huge blow out with a cashier Gaston. We have been loyal HD customers for years so that is why this is so bothersome! Here is what happened. Decided to go through the return check out to buy a few items. I forgot my wallet so my wife had to cover it. The cashier made a couple sly remarks. My girl said, I told you I had to go to the store... We had a discussion about whether we would leave the items and return the next day. The intrusive cashier jumped in the conversation and said, So you just didn't listen to her? and are you the type that sits in the car when your wife shops? and then he added, like I do sometimes... to try to make it sound better. and something else messed up that I can't remember. He really tried to embarrass me. I have been with the same woman for 20+ years and she picked up on the micro aggression before I did. On the way home she was going off about what happened and we drop the kid and went back so I can give him a piece of my mind. We get there and he just stood there and knew I was 100% right in being pissed off. But he kept acting like he did nothing wrong. He kept trying to justify his action saying I'm not a part of your argument. That made things even more heated. I basically had to cuss him out and as I was leaving... Then he said, 99% of the time people don't take it like that. That was the very last straw! I was like he does this a lot with others customers! I came back in and told him to call a manager. He called Mario. This manager was super chill and was very professional. He's a good listener and he quickly defused the situation. I believed him when he said he would talk with the cashier so we left it up to him to handle it. I would like to be a fly on the wall in that meeting. I think he needs a serious reprimand. You can't treat people any kind of way. Home Depot do better! Thanks Mario for taking a bad situation and turning it to a better one for us we really do appreciate it. You get an extra star for that!
