Finding Arandas Tacos after two early morning flights and then a 2 hr drive from XNA to Branson was an absolute godsend. We drove up exhausted and famished, and this was just the spot to fill our tummies and wait out some time before we could check into our hotel. My husband and I both got different types of tacos (carnitas and chicken) while our (picky) children split a quesadilla. Both were pretty good, with the flavoring of the carnitas standing out as the winner. I was excited about the salsa bar but was bummed that the mild salsa was out of stock the entire time (nearly 1.5 hours) we were there. Also, I was totally hoping for some fried plantains, but our waitress told us they don't ever have them. So sad. If I were ever to return to Branson and needed a Mexican food pick-me-up, we would most likely go back to Arandas. read more

I can't say enough about Arandas. We've been coming here since it opened and it's always been great, authentic Mexican food. From the (street) tacos which I love the al pastor version to the ceviche tostada it's always been super good and we've never had a complaint. You get to dress your food as you want at their taco bar, your pick of sauces and condiments you'd naturally find on Mexican food. You've even greeted with fries pinwheels instead of the usual chips and salsa which makes for a nice variety. I would recommend, and have recommended, this restaurant to anyone. And the.l clientele screams of "this is the place for authentic Mexican food", and I'll leave it at that. You'll just have to come in and see for yourself! read more

I don't understand what the hype is all about. The food is awful. How can anyone call it authentic? The place is tiny and they take forever to bring out your order. Once they do the food is cold. Great, authentic Mexican food! There are plenty of different types of meat to order in a variety of dishes: chorizo, beef cheek, tongue, steak, chicken, and pork al pastor. Though, the best part of this place is the toppings bar! Your tacos come with just meat in two corn tortillas. Then you can add many different salsas and toppings to your tacos at the toppings bar. Very fun! Also, the chicken taco salad was the best taco salad I have ever had. Perfectly crispy fried taco bowl and then loaded with fresh toppings. The chicken was tender and well seasoned as well. 1st bite had a chicken bone it and I thought I broke my tooth. 2nd bite had a hair in it. Since I had take out and wasn't near any place to eat it was eat it or eat nothing. Tacos were good but there was no sour cream as the menu said. I was given empty cups to fill with salsa. The place was busy but I think this is way they do it. Nobody told me I needed to add lettuce, tomato, etc. to my tacos, before I walked out the door. So, I didn't know the 'drill' as a first timer. I had to laugh at the flies, the waitress that coughed over a table while she was wiping it off, and the overall dirtiness of this place but the floor had stickers to remind customers to stay 6 feet apart! I'll be more likely to get Hepatitis than Covid from this place. Eat at your own risk and avoid if cleanliness is a big concern. read more

My wife and I lived in California, Texas and in Mexico and the taste is as good and as authentic as you can get! First time getting food here. Ordered takeout via phone call. I was given handful of small cups to pick out my salsa choices - definitely try different ones. This Mexican thinks the food was pretty solid - street tacos of lengua (beef tongue), birria (seasoned beef) and asada (seasoned steak) were the tastiest. Taco plate with 3 hard shelled tacos, rice n beans was pretty good and kid approved. Tostadas de camarón (shrimp) could've used more flavor but I appreciated the tostadas left separate from the shrimp, avocado n onion mix until ready to eat. Their homemade salsas did provide the extra sabor - watch out for spicy ones!Would order again to try different items. Service was quick n friendly. read more

So not only did I have to peel each and every one (after I ate the first one by accident) but then of course all the flavor was gone. 2) Margaritas didn't have a key ingredient- tequila! 3) Watched my waitress wash the windows for 10 minutes after we were done with our meal. As a self-described 'Connoisseur of Tacos', if you are looking for an outstanding taqueria in Branson, you can stop looking. I travel weekly for business all over the US and go out of my way to find different restaurants (some in some not-so-nice places) owned and run by those of Hispanic descent, particularly those offering tacos. You'd be amazed at some of the most rural places I've found that are excellent. And no, I do not speak Spanish beyond a few phrases, so I am frequently out of my comfort zone. With Arandas Tacos, I had the opportunity to try at least 2 of Tacos Asada, Al Pastor and Chorizo. While the Chorizo was sweeter than I am used to, it was very good while not being greasy (which is an all too often result with Chorizo). The Asada was also very good, but the outstanding dish on this night was the Al Pastor. Just the right amount of flavor combined with the perfect amount of moistness to make it stand out even beyond certain other locations that claim to be known for their "al pastor tacos". I'm thinking of a particular restaurant in Minneapolis... The bottom line is that 4 tacos, mix & match flavors, for $7.99 are both an outstanding value and an outstanding meal. The fresh salsa bar with numerous salsa's, onions, marinated jalapeno's & carrots, etc. is a much appreciated benefit! read more

Mixed feelings, food is good, customer service STINKS. Forgot our drinks, sides. WAY TOOOOO OVER PRICED. Atmosphere was laid back. They charge for quite everything from chip refills to a pint of salsa, sour cream, and gauc. Location is is in a lower income part of Branson. Two stars only because they tried to "Sell sell sell". Coming over every 2 mins to offer products. The workers weren't professional at all, what sounds like bangs In the kitchen, and a dog toy being squeaked. Also last note, you don't get chips and salsa, you get these dried corn chips, they charge $1.99 for chips and salsa and will continue to charge for every refill of either. If chips and salsa would be the main "wait for your food" food. And they would stop charging 2 dollars for sides that weight a pint, I would make this a 4 star and if customer service improves it's easily a 5 star mom and pop Mexican restaurant. read more
