Rashid told me they could apply POR-15 afterward, so based on that I paid to have the Jeep towed down there. After it arrived, everything changed. Rashid started questioning the project and for over a week I was given the runaround. Multiple times Rashid told me he would "talk to Scott figure out a solution and call me back," but the call back never happened. Every time I followed up I got the same vague response and nothing actually moved forward. Rashid knew all of the details prior to me towing it down there. If this wasn't a job they wanted to take on, that should have been communicated from the beginning instead of telling me to bring the vehicle down and spend money towing it there. It's extremely frustrating to be told something can be done, only to have the shop avoid giving a straight answer after the vehicle is already there. Very disappointing and unprofessional way to handle a customer. I wasted time and money because they couldn't simply be upfront about whether they were willing to do the work.

He was a white male with a beard and glasses, and appeared dirty and disgusting. His behavior made my sister who had every intention of purchasing tires and spending a significant amount of money feel disrespected and uncomfortable. Because of the way she was treated, she chose to leave without making a purchase. No customer, let alone a disabled customer, should ever be made to feel this way.

They told me this guy that sold me the vehicle brings in at least two vehicles a month for safety. Rich is the man, and seems to have been bending pipe and installing systems just about forever. When used car dealers buy vehicles at auction, this is where they bring them to upgrade those leaky, rusty exhausts. If it's possible to just fix your exhaust, Rich will tell you so and weld in that new piece (flex pipe, for example) for you. Of course he'll also custom bend and install everything from converter back if that's what you need. When we had one car's exhaust go in Ypsi, a well-regarded, fairly priced (per reviews) shop there quoted $343, converter back. When towed back to Rich at Motor City, the price for the same work was $160. I don't even want to think about what a dealer or brand name shop would have charged! A bonus from my perspective is that he allows waiting customers to sit within viewing range of work in progress. Those welders put on quite the fireworks show! Scary neighborhood? Yep! Luxurious waiting area? Nope! (Think plastic chairs, spray painted gold, set at the far edge of the work area.) Convenient hours? Not that either. Nice folks though (staff and other customers, both) if you can just go with the flow and kind of get into their scene. The work isn't always perfect, but they're very agreeable to welding up any tiny missed spots for bring-backs. What you get is decent work at more than fair prices.
