What's NOT to like here? The food is exceptional, FRESH, tasty AND there ARE unique offerings here that don't seem to be available elsewhere! It's quiet, comfortable, CLEAN as can be and it's also an attractive/pleasant experience. The ground meat stuffed rolls were excellent, NOT overly salty (thank you) and had some unique flavors and textures. WILL scarf again! The Tuscan Chicken/pasta was fantastic. Dang, it's a LOT of food and way too much pasta. We removed about 1/3 pasta before mixing with the sauce and chopping up a bit. This dish has lost of mushrooms, Spinach, sun dried tomatoes and MOIST/TENDER chicken. It's seasoned perfectly. Did I mention the portions are generous? Did now... It was our first time here. I am not versed in Georgian food so I can't speak for its authentic flavors. As an order and seat yourself the service was very nice. They followed up to ask if I needed a togo box. I am a fan of Baklavas and I saw this place on a yelp. I was so impressed of all the different flavors and different pastries they have to offer. I wanted to get them all. But I went for the different shape one. That I have never seen before. I am pretty sure they have a name. But I couldn't remember all. They also offered breakfast and lunch. They have the menu in the wall. I would like to comeback and have something like a sandwich. They do have coffees, lates, and expressos. They have a lot to try on the Baklava area. So sweet. The lamb chops were tender and flavorful, and the rice, house salad, pita bread, and garlic sauce made for a delicious meal. This small Georgian family business had a variety of baklavas on display, however, I only got the chance to try their shakshuka and Tuscan chicken sandwich. Everything came out piping hot! Both had good flavor but I think I enjoyed the Tuscan chicken sandwich more. Bread was perfectly toasted but still soft on the inside while the cheese melted perfectly into the chicken. The shakshuka didn't stand out much--mostly resembled fresh bread with tomato sauce. Despite the hot meal, I think there could be some improvements with the service. I love supporting small businesses so I was really disappointed when I asked for recommendations or popular dishes (between the stuffed eggplant or shakshuka) and the worker responds with "I don't know it's whatever you like." I went ahead and ordered the stuffed eggplant originally and she later returns to tell me they didn't have it, so I settled for the shakshuka. The difference in price wasn't big but she didn't offer to refund me the difference or anything to compensate. This review is mainly based on their Honey Cakes alone, BUT because it's called BAKLAVA house, of course I got one of the Baklavas to try as well! Wouldn't make sense not to try. Just upon walking in (the bakery side-- there's a restaurant side as well), everything looked so good! It looked very promising so right off the bat, I ordered 3 slices of the Honey Cakes because I just knew they would be good... I was right. Delicious! Literally have been obsessed with Honey Cakes lately... they're sweet, but not super sweet. I love the layers, the texture, the flavor... ugh, perfection! I don't care much for the chocolate version but from others I've tried prior (not from here) it was still good-- just not my preference. It's a good thing this place is a far distance away from me because it's a very bad addiction to have close by to my home. Each slice was $4.50 each. I got one piece of the Walnut Baklava ($4)... Very good (flaky & flavorful), and I ate it a day later after it being refrigerated all day-- along with the last slice of Honey Cake. The first two cakes were devoured on day one-- one outside the restaurant, shared with my sister (it was a very nice day and everyone who walked by us asked for our opinion and were curious about our thoughts), second one hours later that same evening. Each time, the cakes satisfied my taste buds and the baklava did the job too. The restaurant/bakery itself felt very inviting and is kept very clean as well. I definitely plan on making another trip back that way some time soon (maybe even hint to my friends/family what my upcoming birthday cake could be). The food smelled so good coming from the restaurant but we weren't hungry enough just yet for that so I would love to come back and try some of the items off the menu. Please note: We did wait a while on the bakery side because no one was there behind the counter when we entered but we did not notice the bell that said "ring for assistance" so just a heads up for those of you who might make the same mistake... we didn't know lol but it was worth the wait! So this place has Armenian food and sweets to pick from. They are a little hole in a wall place so not many people know of this gem. I got the Dubai milk chocolate sweets and man they don't mess around. It had the right combination of ingredients and both my boys enjoy the sweets. They do have food as well to order and choose from but we were in a sweets craving mood. I think I just found my favorite place to grab baklava in town. This place is adorable, has incredibly friendly staff, and some of the best baklava I've ever had. I went around 430 on a Friday afternoon with a friend of mine. We showed up, and were instantly greeted by a wonderfully kind woman. I told her we were new, and she gave us a quick tour of the menu for the restaurant side and then a quick rundown of all of the items in the pastry case. She was absolutely incredible to chat with. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable, but just wonderfully friendly to chat with. We ended up ordering four pieces of baklava: lemon, apricot, original, and Nutella. We also ordered a honey cake slice, and a wonderful cheese and spinach filled pastry. The baklava was delicious. The lady told me that the restaurant only uses honey to sweeten the pastry, and not any corn syrup. This made for probably some of the most flaky, and light tasting baklava I've ever had. The lemon was absolutely delicious, and really not overdone. in fact, all the flavors were just subtle and light. The Apricot was my favorite. It had a wonderful flavor of apricot jam, with the delicious nuttiness of walnut baklava. The Nutella was also good, and the original was just great. The honey cake was tasty. I'm used to Ukrainian honey cake, and this was a little bit different, but not in a bad way. The layers were a little thicker than I'm used to, but the flavors of graham cracker and pastry cream really just shine through. The spinach and cheese pastry was flaky, light, and very enjoyable. The entire restaurant looked clean, and smelled clean. There were a few tables on the restaurant side, and a few tables on the bakery side. I'm really looking forward to going back, grabbing a cup of tea, and just having another wonderful slice of baklava. This place is just wonderful in so many ways, and really just a great example of an awesome small business. I look forward to going back soon. read more

Went by on two occasions within a matter of two weeks and this place was closed both times. Both times on Thursday. I stopped by around 10 am the business hours sign says they are open at 9 am. The business hours posted online also state they open at 9 am. Both times the " open" sign is on. Please update your hours if you don't plan on opening at the hours posted. I've been seeing this place popped up on Yelp every time I search for places to eat. Decided to come on a Sunday morning for brunch. It's a small and cute restaurant. The other side is the bakery and sell a variety of baklava. We ordered shakshuka, blinchik, waffles with berries, and coffee. Honestly I was really looking forward to their shakshuka but it was a disappointment. It was salty on one side and I'm not sure why. I'm not sure how authentic this version is but I preferred the one from saizon. Waffles with berries were really hard. Felt like the waffles were overcooked. The blinchik was okay. I didn't like their coffee. It was pretty bland and diluted. Service was mediocre. Overall my experience was ehh. Maybe I'll come back again to try their other dishes. read more

I have visited Baklava House 2 additional times since my original post and continue to be impressed by their warm service and DELICIOUS food. Their borscht and house tea remain my favorite items. Great little family owned place with different menu items. Very clean and friendly service. The portion size was generous too. I had the mushroom bulgar with chicken plate. The bulgar has sauteed onions and mushrooms and had a risotto texture. It was tasty and hardy. The chicken is ground chicken meat filled with fresh dill and butter. It is breaded and fried crispy. I'm glad I tried this place before it got popular because everything we had was soo good and I know it'll become a hotspot! The pistachio cake was nice and creamy but does have a floral aftertaste. The pesto Alfredo was to die for! So cheesy and good! Tip: there is two separate entrance, one for the bakery and one for the restaurant. I was hoping this would be the same caliber but not quite. Place is clean and trendy and the service was very friendly and welcoming. I tried a few different baklavas, no food yet. I honestly wasn't aware there was a full menu. Rose baklava wasn't as good as other I've tried, it was more bitter than expected. Classic was pretty yummy but overall I wouldn't rush back.
