Stopped by B S Coffee on Friday morning. The vibe is definitely cute and cozy with a mix of industrial-chic with a local touch. It feels like a spot that wants to be your go-to neighborhood coffee hangout, and I can see the appeal. We ordered two coffees and a bowl of oatmeal. The coffee was lukewarm than I prefer and it was decent but nothing memorable; definitely functional for a caffeine fix, but not something I'd rave about. The oatmeal was... okay. The portion was generous and I liked the topping options (they had raisins and brown sugar), but the texture leaned more watery than creamy. Service was polite and the waitress was doing her best especially tending to a full house by herself. All in all, it's a decent stop if you're nearby or need a quiet place to work or chat. Found this great little coffee shop on Yelp. It called BS Coffee Shop in Clovis. It's a small place with great food and service. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. We had the veggie omelette with the small pancake. And the Country Benedict. Everything was delicious. It tasted very much like home cooking. Definitely a great breakfast place. Morning everybody, check this out. We stop by this hideaway in Clovis this morning. We heard that the meals were home style with big portions. Well the food was very good certainly don't judge a book by its cover. Very small nestled within a neighborhood and you can tell it was a favorite among the locals. Our waitress greeted us as soon as we walked in and what I believe were her children were seated at the counter doing possibly home schooling? We asked if they had specialty coffees and she replied no but we have hot coffee that response was priceless. This was a neat place to be. It's been awhile since I've been but this place is truly a hidden gem... Have been driving passed it for years not thinking much of it til one day I finally got the urge to try it. I order the same thing every time, I believe the BS stands for Betty and Shirley's coffee shop (original owners way back when). If I'm not mistaken. the space is small but the food is mighty. Come on a CHEAT day for sure I throughly enjoy the Country Benedict with Sausage side of Hashbrowns Like a classic biscuits and gravy, two fried eggs, biscuits topped with gravy and sausage underneath the eggs. I'm not sure why this place still has regulars, I don't know if they are always understaffed, But I've been to very busy places who handled it very well before. And I don't know what the excuse is for the food or the prices. All I know is, It took 45 minutes to get the food, There were only 2 flavors with the food, Bland, Or dead sea salty. And for 3 of us somehow with 3 normal breakfasts it ended up being almost $80 with tax and tip. A very long time ago with the original owners it was a great local down home country place. Now it's obviously trying to be cutesy and failing. It would be something if it had the best service or the best food but it has neither. The biscuits tasted canned, The potatoes tasted as if they had an entire salt shaker poured into them, Same with the gravy. We won't be coming back again. read more

Best breakfast in town. Their omelettes are amazing. The oatmeal is perfect, great toppings and the consistency is just right, not runny and not chunky. The service is fast and friendly, the waitress remembered my name after just two visits. I will be going to this place for breakfast every Saturday morning and maybe a few other days as well. I don't know how I went so long without eating here. It's a traditional diner with a small dining area, a counter, and a friendly atmosphere. I tried various breakfast items here and the only thing I don't really recommend is the country fried steak. It was a thick piece if meat that wasn't tenderized, and the breading didn't adhere to it. Everything else was great. I tried both the bacon and the sausage gravy and both were excellent. Biscuits and pancakes were really good too. The hash browns were crispy but so fluffy. There were two servers who seemed to work selflessly like a small team. One of them brought a hot carafe of coffee to stay at the table which is just a win-win situation. I plan on making this place our regular breakfast spot and can't wait to try other items. read more

Yelp led me to the small diner, close to where I needed to be. I walked in to find a single server handling a good size group of customers (about 20). she moved comfortably throughout, not missing a beat. I needed to be in and out and asked for her recommendation. She recommended an order of biscuits and gravy. It was the perfect recommendation. Very favorable Bacon gravy with really good biscuits. the restaurant was extremely clean, the service was quick and fast and very friendly, the price was very reasonable, and an overall great atmosphere. a very simple place, a hole in the wall, but obviously very popular. This place will not get a perfect score because I don't know if there is such thing. But overall this place is top notch. So if you're looking for good biscuits and the gravy, with pretty good service, and a friendly atmosphere, this is worth a stop. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews and am stretching this to three stars because of how nice the servers were. Been wanting to come here for over a decade, so I ordered take out this morning. The best part about the meal was the biscuits and sausage gravy, but unfortunately that was about the extent of the positives. My wife had the chicken fried steak, eggs over medium and country potatoes. The potatoes weren't crispy or flavorful and they failed to put gravy on the chicken fried steak. It wouldn't have helped as it was very tough and hard to chew and the breading wasn't spectacular. As for mine, I got the corned beef hash, poached eggs and hash browns. The hash appeared to be homemade and flavorful, but the eggs were essentially hard boiled and the hash browns weren't crisp or with much flavor. I guess the best analogy to use is when you are a kid and you get a firework that you just can't wait to light off. When you finally do, it sputters and burns out and you walk away with an empty, letdown feeling. It's too bad. read more

This place is so inadequately staffed. It's as if they have only one pan to make food for the entire restaurant. While the staff does wear masks, there's no social distancing at all. However, they've taken advantage of the covid situation to put even more tables and chair outside to seat even more people they cannot serve in a timely manner. After already waiting an hour, and asking how much longer for food, the waitress admitted that there was another 40 minute wait. Imagine that, one hour and 40 minutes for a couple of eggs and bacon. This place is becoming a good place, to celebrate. We've been here for a birthday breakfast, preschool school Christmas performance, and preschool graduation. It's convenient, and they have a good menu, to please everyone. I've never heard any complaints, about the food, or service. It's a casual coffee shop. They're known for the biscuits and gravy. It's home made, and they have 1/2 and 1/2, which is bacon and sausage gravy. You get the best of both! Today, I had the waffle. It's a thin, crispy, waffle. It's hard to find crisp waffles, so for me, that's a win! The bacon is thick cut, and delicious. For me, I just have to give props to the cook. My over easy eggs were cooked to perfection. I reviewed this place right after the new owners took over . I wasn't real happy as I was a long time customer of the OLD BS and the new place didn't measure up . BUT I got a curbside last Sat and OMG if i didn't know better , I world swear that dear Sharon and the orig cook were back ! That's a big compliment . Fantastic B&G, biscuits as light as an angels wings . great old school hash browns . If I were to say anything needed improvement was the link sausage . To me it tasted like the Jimmy Dean brown and serve . Just meh. NOW due to shortages maybe that's all they could get , but Smart and Final has plenty of FJ sausage links Thur night . Decided to give another review since this place seems to have new owners. Had a good Sunday breakfast here. Large portions and competitive prices. I had the classic bacon and egg small size breakfast with toast and country potatoes. Pretty standard for this type of breakfast. My breakfast company had the omelette with hash browns and pancakes. The omelette was on the smaller side (especially compared to IHOP). The pancake was nearly plate-sized, fluffy, and great tasting (even without syrup). I also had a cup of hot cocoa.... Complete with the overwhelming amount of whipped cream and sprinkles. Definitely a do-again drink. One negative about this experience was that it was extremely busy and understaffed. The waitress was great, but she seemed to be the only one waiting tables and with every table full she was unable to keep up. I saw at least one couple walk out after not being helped within a few minutes. I will say that she was a great server, she just needed help on a Sunday morning. I will be back. It's near to my home and a good way to support your local business owner. read more
