While I don't necessarily think $64 for a burger with fries, chili cheese fries, and a pastrami sandwich is outrageous--especially coming from Los Angeles--the overall state of the restaurant didn't match the price point. The building felt very run down, the iced tea machine was out of service, and half of the soda options were unavailable because the machines weren't working. The food and service were excellent, but for the prices being charged, I would expect the restaurant to be better maintained. The owner should seriously consider investing in upgrades and repairs because the quality of the food deserves a much better environment. Overall: fantastic food, great service, but the restaurant itself needs some attention.

The one thing that I'll give them credit for is that they actually got my wacky animal fries creation (done light well) with chopped raw onions, whole grilled onion, and whole raw onion correct! They layered the chopped raw onions on top of the melted cheese, then the whole grilled onion, then the whole raw onion, and THEN they put the secret sauce on top. Made it look aesthetically pleasing. Of course, I also added a meat and cheese patty (ordered on the side) on top of that to finish it off. It worked out exactly like I had hoped for! Although it's been a while since we've visited a McDonald's I redownloaded the app and placed the order, submitting payment as we've done in the past. When we arrived my daughter faced many challenges at the counter. The young man told her something was wrong with the system. She was told the system was down. Some lady told her she could cancel the order online. I went to cancel the order through the app and it wouldn't allow it stating that the order was already being made. Then my daughter showed that them that it said it was already being made from the screenshot I provided her (I waited in the car). The systems were back up but then they were saying it wasn't paid for and asked my daughter for her receipt. We placed the order via the app, of course we have a receipt. It keeps a good paper trail. My daughter showed proof of purchase and they began working on the order. We ordered the food at 9:01 am and arrived around 9:12 am to pick up our simple order. She didn't receive the order until 9:30 am. This was a horrible experience. I wish it was handled differently. From my perspective (sitting in the parking lot in the car) it seems like the system going down caused confusion and my daughter was met with distrust even though she had the receipt and the order was paid in full. This is the reason I don't visit McDonald's. I don't like this kind of customer service. It's not a great way to start off the day.
