    Fish sandwich

Just tried this fish sandwich for the first time and it was so good, I asked for it hot and fresh and it was so

The Service was amazing at the drive through but after getting home and half way getting through our meal we discovered piece of hair or cloth like substance right smack in the middle of the sandwich. It really just ruined the meal and appetite for everyone eating.

    What we ordered...

For $28 worth of food it was mediocre. Our food was barely okay in taste and quality, but we were missing part of our order- our small fries and marinara sauce ( they gave us something called BroncoBerry Sauce??) And they didn't include the honey mustard we requested, just a ton of ketchup and horsey sauce (not requested). The sauces were important obviously we're not dipping mozzarella sticks into BroncoBerry Sauce. My Roast Turkey and swiss is not at all as expected... It looks like they rang up a bacon sandwich instead. :( I wish whoever is working would actually pay attention to what they're doing instead of just rushing to pull people forward off the drive-thru sensor (we and everyone who came through with us were asked to pull forward and/or park). That was a long wait and a big chunk of cash for an incorrect order...

I didn't know or think that Cook Out was in Atlanta until we were driving past a place and they didn't have parking so my friend suggested Cook Out. I was so excited. When we walked in it was a bit overwhelming because of the many varieties and options they have. When we walked up to the counter the lady greeted us and gave us the run down of how to order. The inside looked like the average fast food place. Only thing I could say was the floors were very slippery. I ordered the tray with a Cheeseburger with onions and mayo, Cajun fries, white cheddar bites, chicken nuggets and a drink. The Cheeseburger was very good and made how I asked, The fries were good with the seasoning on it. The White Cheddar Bites were my favorite and I could have gotten 7 more of those. The Chicken nuggets werent my favorite at all. Overal I am a huge fan of Cook Out now. The pricing blew me away as it was so affordable. I will be going back to Cook Out when I go to another southern state as I have to have my White cheddar Bites again.

I highly recommend looking at an online menu before walking/ driving up to order as the options can be overwhelming at first, but once you know what you like its nothing. My go to: Tray with burger w cheese 2 quesadillas and a cherrwine float. Does the job every time!

The food comes out fast, and the food is what you would expect from a drive-in style burger joint from yesteryear. The original location is near Georgia Tech and is huge. It has a retro feel without feeling old. I got a bacon double cheeseburger with fresh cut fries. The food was good and beyond cheap. The have chili dogs, onion rings and shakes as well. The look, the signage, the old-school feel, all of that is part of the charm. That said, the entire restaurant feels like it is overdue for a refresh. Not a redesign. Just a cleaner, more polished version of what is already there. Keep the character, keep the history, keep the nostalgia. Just make it feel cleaner and a little more cared for. The food itself was pretty underwhelming. Nothing was especially BAD, but very little was memorable either. For a place with this much history and reputation, I expected more. I'm glad I checked the box. I guess I understand why people come here, and I understand why it matters to Atlanta. For me, though, this was a once-and-done experience. Glad I went. No real desire to go back.

The small parking lot was full and lucked out with a spot on the street. I opted to order at the bar so I could enjoy a beer and where it is full service - otherwise it is ordering at the register when you walk in. Service at the bar was friendly, efficient and attentive. I ended up with a double beef burger (each patty is 1/4 pound) at $9, pimento cheese (.75 cents) and Grindhouse Sauce which was in the 1000 island / Mac sauce territory. I was undecided on a side so lucky for me there is a "Frings" option of 1/2 onion rings and fries ($5.75). The burger was a little on the dry side even with the toppings but the potato roll made it a little more interesting. The onion rings were great and can't go wrong with crinkle cut fries. Cold Tropicalia on draft ($8) served by friendly bar staff made it a really great experience. Even though this is not my favorite burger, the sides, the drink options and the overall vibe of the place with excellent service still will make this a place I could visit again. Maybe giving a different burger a try instead of a BYO like I did the first time out.
