My husband ordered the Kansas City brisket sandwich, and unfortunately ours came with just a few very thick-cut pieces of brisket that weren't very appetizing. Based on other photos/reviews, it may have been an off day, but the flavor and texture in the sandwich we received were disappointing. I ordered the Reuben, and the bread-to-meat ratio was way off (photo attached). It was mostly bread with very little filling, especially for a ~$14 sandwich. The sides were okay, but the portions overall felt pretty minimal given the pricing. I always want to support local restaurants, especially ones prioritizing local ingredients, so this was a letdown. Based on this visit, I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

It is a small, seemingly authentic New York deli that serves a great number of different sandwiches, along with specialty drinks, like sodas, sparkling water, and lemonade. They also well things like pastries and, of interest to us, jarred roasted tomatoes. My wife had the #9 Monte Cristo, and I had the #3 Bonanza. Delicious. I also had a Manhattan Special Black Cherry soda, also super yummy. My mistake, not realizing what I was doing, was to order "whole" vs "half" sandwiches. The whole are footlong. I ate the entire sandwich, holy moly! My wife brought half home. Next time I would probably order a half. The owner, who I will call Guiseppe, had the heavy East Coast accent, and checked on all of his customers, making sure they were happy and satisfied. This place is a little gem. We're already talking about our next visit to Garden City to walk and have lunch at Uncle Guiseppe's!

I can't really use communal sauces so I had to pass on adding sauce to my burger or be able to dip my husband's fries in ketchup. My burger was tasty. I did order it with extra onions and didn't really get any extra. I also don't remember my zucchini fries being so minimal to an order. The side I got today had about 6 rounds in it. As an additional cost, I honestly thought it would be more than 6 small rounds. It's been a year since we have eaten here. The food was good as usual. I do enjoy all the pinball machines that you can play on. The staff is nice. I appreciate that everything we ate today was locally sourced. I am sure we will be back again soon. It tastes like it should be cold and holiday season outside. I did pay for a shot of espresso to make it dirty which I never got. It was almost a cup of perfection. My mom was complimenting her and something about the food, and she straight up just walked away in the middle of my mom still talking. And no it wasn't busy. Then once she'd leave us would just stand up at the bar flirting with the other guy working there and just ignore anyone else. Then on top of all of that, my dad tells me she added $10 onto her tip! FRAUD!!! I've attached photos as evidence. My dad still tipped her even though she was so rude and disrespectful. But apparently that wasn't enough for her and added $10 onto the total. I cannot believe that. And my dad tells me it was difficult to get his $10 back after calling and talking to the manager. He didn't get the name of the manager but he said that they were just making excuses and saying oh but she's our best server. Obviously not! Saying things like oh she must've just been really busy. Again, we were there when it was dead and about to close soon, no it was not busy. It's almost as if this business does this type of thing often because there was no alarm from the manager, then finally after much deliberation decided to send back the $10. Absolutely ridiculous. No : "I'm so sorry here's a free meal on us", or atleast a "here's a coupon or gift card for next time you come in", nothing. This is the type of thing that gets people closed down. We should report to the BBB. This is insane. And to not be offered anything to make it right is what really gets me. Like do they not want us to ever come back???
