#9 Monte Cristo

I had really high hopes for this place based on the 4.5 star average. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I ordered the # 9 Monte Cristo. The description said "Chicken Breast, Mozzarella, Bacon, and Cream Cheese. Served on Homemade Garlic Bread (Hot)" I expected it to be a somewhat flavorful sandwich with the garlic bread, but there wasn't even a hint of anything garlic related on this sandwich. It was extremely bland. There wasn't much bacon either. I thought for being a $15 sandwich, I'd get a lot more. My husband's sandwich was the #18 Gambino, a meatball sub. It was ok/average. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing on an off day. I will give them another chance.

The staff here is super friendly and take great care of you. They have baked goods as well as a great selection of sandwiches. They also have pasta, chocolates and bottled sodas as well as some other items as well. I was not in here for very long but the short while I was I couldn't stop looking around at all the items the offered. I got the #16 Giuseppe favorite and it was delicious. Loaded with meat, perfect amount of balsamic vinegar and oil, fresh tomatoes and lettuce, and fresh red peppers. Excited to go back to try another sandwich off their menu. I got my order to go, but they have table seating if you'd like to eat your meal there.

The forget about it and the meat ball sub, 2 great sandwhich choices both were a 10/10

Love this food place ! Feels authentic and taste is out of this world ! service is always good ! & prices are competitive but more affordable then most other places , but the quality dosent compete! One of idahos best sandwich shops !

The food is just so-so and the seating is not great. The cannolis was very doughy and dry.

Food was good but not inexpensive. The lobster bisque had good flavor but not a bit of lobster meat.

It's meh food for a little bit over priced in my opinion. Tacky to have political things up in your place of business too.

We popped in here to ask about options and the woman working the counter, mom of this franchise owner I think, was so helpful in answering them. A very good introduction to the business. We will drop in again to try a small box for 2 as takeaway to pair with a glass of wine as casual picnic sometime at a local winery. But in general we are like that couple in Portlandia, you know the "Tell us a little bit about your chicken" people (if you don't know the bit I'll post a link below because when it first aired friends said "This is YOU" :-) ) and so we are more Olympia Provisions for charcuterie and local cheeses types. As example, we eat a mostly plant based diet and when we do eat animal proteins we buy them directly from local sustainable practice farmers. Which is no knock on this business,as they use good quality products, she brought some out to show us when we asked and these are better than you will likely get if you're picking up grocery store or big box store charcuterie trays. We also appreciated that as they can they use local veg and fruits here when those are on the trays. OPTIONS: Sizes range from a single serving "cup" ($8) to a box to feed two ($12) to boxes of other sizes and trays of multiple sizes with the top end of that designed to feed roughly 10 ($165). Photo boards in the shop show how the options are put together and a display over the counter shows prices. They offer Keto board options, Vegetarian Board options, Luxury options, Sweet Treat options that include fruit and chocolate and so on. You can also find general menu at the main company link here: https://www.grazecraze.com/menu CONVENIENT LOCATION: for picking up your order because they have a private parking lot associated with the strip mall in which they're location. For 'orientation', this is in the same complex as The Local. Also convenient location in Garden City as there are at least three, maybe as many as five, nearby winery tasting rooms where one can bring in their own eats and the grazing boxes would work well for that. ACCESSIBILITY: Parking lot has accessible (aka ADA compliant) parking which happy coincidence is just outside the door of this business. Shop is all on one level. "TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR CHICKEN..." BIT: His name is Colin. ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErRHJlE4PGI

They occupy an old Marie Callendars restaurant, still nice, clean, comfy. I've had both the Chicken Sandwich and the Turkey Club. Both are delicious, however, the turkey is like in shards, not a piece of meat, but shavings. A little weird. Tips do not go to servers, but to the program, which is great. They also do catering. The food quality is great, so give them a try.

The one thing to be aware of is that they're learning and it can take extra time to get things right. On our most recent visit, it took 45 minutes. The server explained that we were the first to order the daily special and it took a few tries to get it right. The Daily Special A dish that one of the students (the cook for the day) has dreamed up for the day, so it may not have been made but once prior to your visit. When you pay, you are asked to "Pay what you think it's worth". The special Philly with homemade cheese sauce was indeed incredible and worth every cent of being the best thing on the menu, so I paid top dollar! The good: Everything but the time it can take to get lunch. The meh As stated ya gotta plan 90 minutes for lunch. The bad Nothing to report.

Wow. Wonderful experience, excellent food and somehow even better service. Parent date nights…read morewithout kids are few and far between, which puts even more pressure on the restaurant of choice to get it right. Vincenzo Trattoria nailed it, and I am so grateful. We got the spaghetti vincenzo, penne zozzana, and a margherita pizza for dinner. Everything was excellent, truly. The penne zozzana was the favorite, along with the complimentary bread (the bread looks unassuming but is spectacular). I'm typically not a dessert person, but trust me when I say you should not skip the olive oil lemon cake. I will probably dream about it until the next time we visit. Also, I would like to point out that while the restaurant is in a strip mall type location, the interior is cozy and romantic. Ten out of ten highly recommend.

That is a good thing for the new young owners who bought this business. Whether the former owners are still involved in any way, I do not know except to say they were seen dining in there on at least one occasion since the change happened. Since there are enough of us who had all around miserable experiences with the previous owners and said "never again", this comment is for others know that now is the time to come back. The ownership transition seems to have happened sometime after November of last year. If you check the website you'll see the "about" part of it is still about Vincenzo. I recommend the new owners change that to indicate this young couple is now at the helm. The menu, largely pasta, is about the same and with price points running from roughly $23 to $27 for them. Antipasti (cold and hot) start at about $13 for a salad to $23 for fried calamari and shrimp. The owner mentions that they plan to put the pizza oven in the space (see my long ago taken photo) to work as a pizza oven. (To now in the old ownership days it was used to finish bread.) Additions are also planned for for the menu. You will still need a reservation. The access problems from before are the same now. But the entire vibe of the place under the new ownership clearly including a skilled chef, will refresh your appetite to eat at this trattoria if it was ruined by the previous owners.
