The manager sucks and needs to talk better to the employees. She was also very loud and unprofessional and the establishment was very dirty starting with the floors and up to the ceilings. The prices of the food were very high. I would never go there again. When we got the food it was cold and part of the order was wrong. There was no Ketchup, salt, pepper or mustard for the sandwiches. This establishment should be closed due to health reasons. This establishment does not deserve any stars. So my rating is no Stars and a big fat zero. Okay

a person holding a sandwich and a cucumber

I'd give this zero stars if I could the food was revolting. The meat was discolored and freezing cold, there was little to no cheese, and the sauce dampened the entire bun.

Today, my order was a little underwhelming. I'm used to them cooking the steak through, the meat becoming dark, crispy diced shavings that pair well with the melted Cooper. My order today had a slightly undercooked, grey quality to it that also lacked in a good dash of seasoning, even if only salt & pepper. I believe I got a bit less meat on my sandwich than any other time I've been there too. As I mentioned, I believe I just caught them at a bad time or on a bad day because usually, this is the place to be!

I'm a strange dude, I'll be the first to admit to that. I've never been one to like anything that…read moredraws attention from the masses. I never watched Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones because every last loser on earth was all about it. The Beatles fucking suck and Bruce Springsteen can go shit in his hat. Pumpkin spice is for pumpkin pie and that's it, no matter what these dizzy suburban women say. So the decision to visit Johnny Longhots today was based entirely on poor reviews. The guy who ordered a sandwich to the hospital and found a cheesesteak to be "greasy" deserves to contract MRSA during his stay. The dope who complained his fries were soggy ordered his shit off Door Dash. He's lucky the driver didn't eat all of his fries. The folks who called out the teenagers who are getting their first experience working can all get bent. You weren't perfect when you had your first job. Don't forget people like you willingly locked kids in their homes during covid. It's no wonder some of them struggle with social skills and working under pressure. Have a little grace, then eat a bag of dicks for not being patient to them. Don't get me started on that dipshit from Brooklyn. That person who rated the place a one for the soda? I already know who you vote for. Onto the food - the menu is huge. There are a ton of choices with something for just about everyone. There's even gluten free options for those fucking people. There were four or five sandwiches in the running, but it was the Gritty Cheesesteak that ultimately won out on my first visit. And that's a strange decision for me because the Flyers stink and their fans are even worse. They're the worst organization in hockey. Maybe I just wanted fries on my sandwich. Yea - that's it. So the Gritty is a good amount of beef, fries tossed in Old Bay and topped with white cheddar cheese sauce atop a seeded roll. I added fried onions. The sandwich scores higher than the Flyers. I was a fan of the seeded roll which was super fresh. The cheese sauce was tasty and complemented the fries really well. They were super crispy, well seasoned and plentiful. The beef wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was tender and cooked well. All-in-all a good sandwich. The gals up front were attentive and friendly. They took my order quickly. Hats off to the kitchen for getting my food out promptly among the online orders. The place was pretty clean and had a ton of Philly Sports pics on the wall. The music on the radio was some throwback stuff - thank God it wasn't any of that mumble rap shit most kids play these days. Johnny's has a bunch of lunch specials that look worthwhile and a decent value. Locally owned spot worth giving your business to. It's a 4-star review from me that gets bumped to a 5 to spite the mopes who gave it a one.

The aroma calls to you the second you walk into this warehouse sized market. Just take a number and wait on line for your chance to point and inquire. We may have overdone it, but ordered a whole spit roasted chicken, fried chicken breasts and wings, BBQ kielbasa and a quarter turkey. Although we purchased other things in the market, this was our largest haul. There is something special about interacting with a fully dressed Amish/Mennonite woman in frock and bonnet. Shyly friendly and endlessly willing to accommodate your requests, we found ourselves being more adventurous than normal. So far, we've tried the fried chicken (excellent when reheated in the air fryer), the rotisserie chicken (likewise), and the kielbasa (the sauce changes the bite & chew into a three dimensional experience). The turkey wasn't my fave, as I didn't care for the smokey flavor, nor the savoriness. Still, worth the travel time for the uniqueness of the experience. While we wouldn't rush back, we wouldn't hesitate to return when in that Amish black buggy mood.

But when you come in, you are instantly transported into what feels like a Southern 1950's Cafe. The charming decor really warms you up, even during a of Covid and gloomy Spring weather. The benches are old church pews, mixed with charming little round tables and upcycled grey poopon mustard jars as flower vases. We did have the initial CASH ONLY shock before sitting down, thankfully there is an ATM next door, but that's always a bummer. As for the menu, the food is simple American comfort food, with a dash of potato pancakes. The price is very reasonable and coffee is nice and strong. We decided to get the 2-2-2 special which was French Toast, eggs, bacon for $8. And everything was tasty and extra crispy bacon. I won't give this place a full 5 stars because there was nothing that really stood out from the menu, it was solid but not mind blowing. The place being cash only is also a huge factor; they seemed annoyed I wasn't ordering quickly (there were only 2 other tables there on a Tuesday morning). I would return to see if other menu items have more spice to them, and if anything else for the atmosphere and coffee.

The major drawback is that it has no vestibule (there is room to make one). So, in the winter, you will be very uncomfortable in the cold. The owner doesn't seem to realize how much energy he could save by having a vestibule and there is plenty of room to make one.
