Next time you're in the Orlando area, skip Disney and come to Arcade Monsters instead. If you're part of Generation X, you grew up in The Mall and The Arcade. You owe it to yourself to stop in. It's located north east of Orlando... from Disney World, it takes about 30-35 minutes to drive here, but it's well worth the time and effort. In my opinion, Arcade Monsters is one of the best arcades in the country. I'm very serious about that claim. GAMES: I'd estimate that there are about 200 arcade machines in here. That includes a few multigame rigs, about 20 new pinball machines, several Japanese dance/reaction games, a few head-to-head racers, skeeball, etc. Are the 80s and 90s well represented? Damn right they are. Those are the games that I play, and play I did! In addition to arcade machines, there are home consoles with, oh, I don't know, a few thousand? games available. These consoles range from the NES to PS4(?), and everything in between, including the Sega Genesis. All machines, including pinball, are set on free play. You do pay a $20 cover, but for 20 bucks, you can play all day, and well into the night. Several discounts (military, student, family, etc) are available. The selection of arcade games isn't as staggeringly huge as that of, say, Galloping Ghost in Chicago, but I promise you that you will not get bored at Arcade Monsters! FOOD: So, my son says: "Dad, whenever we come to a place like this, I always hope the food will be good, but it almost never is...this time, it's actually awesome!" He was right. the Cuban street food at Arcade Monsters is fantastic. I'm not going to say that these were the best empanadas I've EVER had, but I will say that they were better than any that I've ever eaten outside of Dade County! My son's Cuban sandwich was great, too. The pizza? Meh. It's arcade pizza. DRINKS: Arcade Monsters has a great selection of beer, cool brands of Latin pop, colorful and tasty themed cocktails, cider, hard lemonade/tea, mead, and even wine. If you go thirsty at AM, it's your own fault. WAITSTAFF: It's no secret...the girls who work here are cute. It might not be the reason you come here, but it's something that you can't help but notice. Ana was our bartender and waitress; she was super cool and super sweet. ATMOSPHERE: Totally psychedelic...in an 80s, anime, pop culture kind of way. The place is huge. BOTTOM LINE: You don't have to be Gen X to enjoy Arcade Monsters. This place has something for everybody. If you're in Orlando, for any reason, do yourself a big favor and take half a day to drive up to Oviedo so you can experience Arcade Monsters. What a fun little place. There are a ton of games that you can play for just one entry price. Most of the games are retro arcade games, but there are a few more modern shooters and racing games as well as console games around the bar. Sarah checked us in and explained how everything works in a fun and friendly manner. I love it here! I've been here several times with my friends and it's been my favorite hangout spot yet :-) Everyone who works here is always super sweet and nice. I checked this place out on a thursday afternoon and it wasn't too busy, but the staff was very nice and attentive. I love the decor of the establishment and it's well air-conditioned and stocked with tons of great rhythm games that when I went didn't have long lines for anything I wanted to play. I will say it's a little loud so bringing some noise cancelling earplugs could be useful, or headphones especially if you want to plug into some of the arcade games. Great experience. $20 all-you-can-play entry is a decent value for what you get. I'll break this place down room-by-room. The first room had lots of modern pinball machines. Fairly new machines, like Mandolorian, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Deadpool (though the ball kept getting stuck in Deadpool - I think the sensitivity is a bit too low in a few places), and others. This room also has the only two games that are at an extra cost - a claw machine and a zoltar machine. I'm told they used to have a merchandise shop in this room but sadly it was gone when I visited and instead had bigscreens with Smash/Switch. This room also had a u-shaped bar. The bar had lots of micro-consoles (think Genesis classic, SNES classic, Famicom classic, mini neo-geo machines, etc.). The bar also had a basic but decent-looking food menu (no-frills, but made from scratch). I had the fried pickles and you could tell they were hand battered and came out piping hot. I also had the Cuban coffee boba tea - it was delish! Not a lot of vegetarian/vegan items so keep that in mind if you are looking for those. The first room - upper level - had lots of Japanese consoles (if you've been to Japan, the while ones that you sit down at), a few retro machines, and some console games (mostly Switch, IIRC). The second room had lots of those dark-room type arcade machines (house of the dead, Luigi's mansion, Halo Fire Team Raven, etc.), some Japanese music/dance/rhythm games, star wars battle pods, and a few others. The second room - upper level - had more retro games. The third room had a nice combination - ski ball, racing games (including an 8-player linked Japanese street racer, Mario kart dx, a moto-GP type game), some more music and rhythm games, and a few classics/randos. Overall, they had a very nice variety, collection, and selection. It's definitely the type of place that works well for multiplayer games. It is very loud, so talking is not the easiest, keep that in mind. I had a great time. My only complaint is that there's not one closer to Disney/Windermere/Winter Garden! read more

This place has the retro arcade machines like Galaga, pac man (old and new), Tekken, Marvel vs Capcom Blitz and many more, the DDR machines, a few driving games, oh and there's a section dedicated to pinball for any pinball lovers, even a VR floor along with more rhythm games. There is also a section for console games, old and new! If you get here early enough you can get access to many games, however after 10pm it's 21 and up only allowed as there is beer available for purchase. Five stars for an awesome arcade bar at the edge of Oviedo. I've heard about places like these for a while, so when I heard one opened up close to home/school I was super excited! From walking in, the lighting is pretty low to reduce any glare on the machines but also to give a pretty enclosed atmosphere. The windows are tinted as well so you really feel locked in once you arrive. The pricing wasn't too bad for all day access to the machines, and let me tell you there is A LOT of variety in this bar. They have cabinets ranging from street fighter to turtles in time, pinball machines, an air hockey table, and even a section focused on console games! They've got a pretty good offering of different beers as well along with a lot of the snacks young gamers at heart grew up on during those long super ninetendo nights back in the day. It can get pretty packed over the weekend as well, but there was also always a good number of games open for use. Overall, I definitely found a go to spot for those weekend nights where we want some drinks without the pressure of a dance floor or a crowded bar. read more

Cool neighborhood arcade spot that attracts lots of different people. They have two stories and only a couple items on the 2nd floors that is the VR accessories. The first floor is filled with old and some new arcade games. They also do tournaments and special events too. Its decorated very retro like and fitting for the vibe they have. I love there are sanitize wipes stationed around different points of the arcade because i mean you know. Theres different price points that suits visitors needs and even for those that don't want to play at all. I think since some of the games modes are in free play it kind of doesn't let you go to a certain mode or level but I mean free all you can play is hard to beat. Come and play! read more

(ALOT of) pinball, guitar hero, dance dance revolution and there prices were pretty good ($16 for unlimited) but I will say the beers were a little expensive. BUT they have multiple ways to receive free shots. Honorary mention to the VR sets. That really set them apart from other arcades to me. They do a raffle as well. This is a fun place for the whole family if you are into gaming. Fun for someone like me in his 50's who got to play all the games from his youth, like Donkey Kong, PAC Man, Frogger, etc. They do have a bunch of newer games, imported games, gaming systems, and pinball machines. There is really something for everyone here, as long as you are into Gaming! They have a bar, and serve food as well. I did not eat or drink. The price for unlimited gaming runs about $20 per person. Fun little arcade spot. It says it's the biggest arcade in Florida but that must be some technicality because Dave and busters and others of the like are three times it's size. We went on a Saturday night and even brought our ten year old daughter. There's a nice mix of new an old arcade machines and even some imports I've never seen. All access for 20 bucks wasn't bad at all. There's a bar with a good selection of beer and liquor and a menu of custom drinks. They also serve a pretty good variety of food. We ordered the chicken nuggets and an order of fries for our kid, the fries were good but the nuggets tasted odd because they apparently used onion powder in their batter. For the adults we got the Cuban sandwich, the loaded bacon cheese fries and an order of buffalo wings...all above average and good portions. From the bar we picked up a strawberry mojito and a pina colada. Here we come to the reason I left off a star...my pina colada gave me the WORST headache. I don't know if it was the (I'm guessing) well liquor they're using or what but consider yourself warned. Overall really cool place but maybe skip the pina colada and the chicken nuggets. read more

First. This is a childrens arcade that's serves beer, not a bar with arcade game. I say this for those without children who may have had different expectations as I had. Second. This place smells. It's the first thing I noticed when I walked in. If a manager or owner reads this please invest in air freshener. Third. Why do I need my hand sharpied like a teenager at a concert?
