Dr took his time with the initial consult. I got X-rays which he will review at my next visit. I received a great body adjustment and slept like a baby that evening. I have no pain the next morning and live that the doctor called to check up on me to see how I was feeling. The masseuse is only available in the morning so I have to return for that service. This place is a total racket and I am extremely disappointed. I bought a Groupon for a Chiromassage Center, but was directed here to redeem. Instead of an "exam, treatment, and 60 min. massage" promised on the Groupon, I was given a hard sell for $3000+. The doctor met with me and took down my symptoms and details, but then pushed me off on someone else to do my "exam and treatment". The exam was an absolute joke. She had me stand, turn to one side, turn to the other, then said there was nothing she could tell me unless I paid $25 for x-rays. There was NO treatment of any kind. Once I paid for my x-rays, I was booked to come back for a "result of findings" during which the original doctor told me that I have SERIOUS ISSUES and that he wouldn't even dream of treating me once if I wasn't going to "commit to my health". He gave me a treatment plan of over $3000 - to be paid UP FRONT. $3000 seem like a lot? No problem, they'll call a financing company and get me approved - which they did without even asking me. This doctor never even looked at me. I said I wanted to take the x-rays to my primary to discuss it - they said no, they don't make copies of x-rays, they'll let me borrow them for two weeks if I pay another $12. A letter from the doctor to my primary describing my obvious $3000 issues? That will be another $50. Not wanting to give me too much time to think about it, he scheduled me for another appt. in two days "because I can tell you're going to want to take care of yourself and get started." Obviously I would have a hard time discussing these treatments with my primary in only two days, but everything about this place is based around scare tactics and rushing you into a decision while telling you how smart you are for "committing to your health". X-rays I paid for belong to me BY LAW and this place won't give them to me. It's a complete scam. The only thing positive I can say is that I had a good massage from Lisa, although I really don't want to have to go to this place to see her. read more

Bought a living social voucher for my husband and am very disappointed. Living social can't help us, the office refused to acknowledge we were misinformed, so my only choice as the consumer stuck in the middle is to take my fruatration to yelp and try to warn others to stay away. I called to make an appointment for a Saturday and was told my husband would have a 9 :15 am appointment. They called us the day before to tell us to be there at 9:15 for the appointment. I drop my husband off and come back in an hour to pick him up only to be told his appointment is at 10! Which was when we had to leave for a family gathering. Needless to say, I was unhappy. Maybe telling people when to show up instead of when their appointment is is the norm for this establishment, but it certainly isn't for any other spa or doctor's office my husband or I have been to. We couldn't reschedule due to their 24 hr rescedule policy and it was implied that there would be a cash fine. I didn't ask a follow-up question to confirm this because they weren't going to budge. I didn't want to forfeit the value of the voucher or give them any money to pay their masseuse, so I felt like we had no choice but use the voucher. This was essentially a type of bait and switch albeit for a customer who's not on a schedule, it woudn't be a problem. But seriously, have some respect for your client's time! The massage itself was nothing special, my husband said it was not as good ones he's gotten at actual spas. He also said they tried to upsell him and get him to purchase actual chiropractic services by having him watch a video about how chiropractors have a lot of training, and then they had one of the chiropracters ask if he wanted chiropractic services. The masseuse was apparently telling my water guzzling husband that he had a lot of toxins and needed to drink more. The man drinks close to a gallon of water a day... Save your money and use it on a real spa where these kinds of amateur scheduling shenanigans don't happen and you can have a relaxing massage experience. I love love love Dr. Pevey and Dr. Phifer. I was in bad shape after a car accident last year. I used to wake up and to get out of bed I had to roll off the bed because my back hurt and would lock up on me as well as my neck which I couldn't turn side to side without moving my whole body with it. I had received chiropractic treatment at another chiropractic office for several months as well as acupuncture but they just couldn't get me back to normal all the way. I bought a groupon or livingsocial pass (can't remember which one) for the massage and chiropractic evaluation. I was really going for the massage (at $35 it was a great deal). The massage by Patricia Huff was amazing and it turned out that Dr. Pevey was also amazing. The presentation was longer than i expected or was used to but I now get it that it is crucial for the patient to understand the current state of your spine. none of my previous chiropractors had ever explained it to me in detail. It motivated me to show up to my scheduled appointments at the set time intervals in order to make timely progress. My treatments are done and my neck and lower back problems are gone. I intend to continue with occasional adjustments from here on just to maintain my spinal health. The office staff (Tony, Joanne, Marjie, and Rachel) are wonderful. I am a chronic late person, so I called in last minute often to move apmt to later or next day and they never got upset with me. Thanks a million! read more

Dr Pevey is the nicest most life-changing doctor I am so fortunate to have ever been to. I met him in years, miserable, crying and in no way pleasant. However he was as kind and patient as could be. My neck and back problems were unimaginable causing debilitating migraines the pain was crippling and I spent hours heating icing massaging crying and unable to sleep or even walk at times. He advised it wouldn't be a painless journey, and it has taken about 2 months, but I'm feeling amazing! I just went for my first run in months! It was last year of my college years where I was suffering severe headaches due to all nighters in front of computer, bad postures, and car accidents from the year before. Left a review but there's some problem so here's a redo... I've been seeing Dr. Phifer since November due to a back injury occurred from falling down stairs step. The injury wasn't bad but after the X-Ray, I found out my body is not in the best of shape and need major adjustment. This explained a lot as once in a while I would get weird tingly feeling on my power back and shoulder. After months of treatments, I'm feeling better and better after each visit. Dr. Phifer always took the extra care to explains what he's doing, why he's doing it, and how it will help me. This place and Dr. Phifer changed my perspective on chiro treatment. I have been going to Arcadia Chiropractic for over 7 years now. I originally came here as I had developed scoliosis from wearing and biking to school with a 17 pound backpack on. Years later since being under Dr. Pevey's care I can say that the adjustments are something I REALLY look forward to as they relieve all the tension and stress found in my shoulders, lower back, and neck. When I come in he asks how I'm doing and I let him know how I feel and he knows exactly where to adjust. I feel like a new person everytime! This summer I suffered an injury that told me I was getting old - I jacked my back in yoga. I think the sequence was downward dog to dammit-that-hurt. It's an inversion. :) I rested it for weeks before I decided I was ready for a bike ride complete with a 12-pack in my messenger bag. Tweaked again. A few more weeks of babying my spine helped another round of healing. A few back-to-back-to-back rides on a mountain bike without suspension didn't. To make matters worse, I moved recently, and my chiro is 300 miles away. Yesterday, I stumbled on a $29 Groupon for a chiro checkup and message. The check-up didn't help - it was just a bunch of questions, no adjustment. To be fair, the Groupon didn't include an adjustment. The massage was worth waiting for. My masseuse, April, worked the kinks out in my back as well as those I didn't even know I had. In short, in was one of the best massages I've ever received. I was so baffled by my experience at this place. Before I start, my mom had bought a Groupon for something like "3 massage treatments plus chiropractic exam (including x-ray)" from here and she expected for me to be able to receive a massage on the day she made my appointment. On to my first appointment, everything seemed fine. (keep in mind, my mom told me that I was to have a massage done on this day so I was expecting one) I filled out my forms and then was told to change into those hospital gowns. Dr. Pevey then did some basic chiropractic tests, asking questions and pressing on the spine, the x-ray, and then was told I was done for the day. I was confused that I didn't get my massage so when I asked the receptionist, she said that the doctor didn't want to do any treatments at all before examining my x-rays. That seemed like a stretch, but it made sense until she tried charging me $65 for an adjustment. 1) that's a pretty hefty price for an adjustment (my mom and I have been to multiple and know other chiropracters) and 2) didn't she just tell me that the doctor doesn't do any treatments before looking at my x-rays? Anyways, we got that cleared up pretty quick and the receptionist penciled me in for another appointment for the doctor to go over my exams and discuss my treatment plan. He informed me to bring whoever would be paying for these plans with me (my mom) into the consultation. I go home to tell my mom and she's a little annoyed that I didn't get my massage that day because she was informed that I would. She calls them and asks the receptionist (Joanne?) when the masseuse would be free and was told the same thing that the doctor refuses to assign any treatments to me before going through the consultation. Fine, so we changed the appointment date to a weekend when the doctor had time to give me the consultation, my mom was free, and (from Joanne!) I could get my massage afterwards. Now to the 2nd appointment, my mom and I go in and it's another, younger receptionist who asks my mom to put down our insurance information. My mom informs her that we don't have insurance for these treatments and the receptionist IMMEDIATELY makes a stink face. We decided to ignore that and wait for the doctor. Once inside the consultation, we go through the typical chiropractic consultation except that Dr. Pevey was trying to throw every single sales pitch at us. We informed him that we were here for the 3 massage treatments that we paid for and are already going through treatment with another chiropractor, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. Then, he started saying things like, "Well, if she's (me) not going to commit to coming 3 times a week and being consistent, I won't even take her as a patient" which is about the most entitled thing. After what seemed like hours of Dr. Pevey giving a reason why I should switch chiropractors and my mom gracefully declining him, it was finally over. We walked back to the lobby with Dr. Pevey where the younger receptionist (not Joanne) was and stated that we were going to wait for the masseuse. THERE, the receptionist, with the worst attitude, goes, "UM, you're not getting a massage today." And that's when we had it. My mom started by telling the doctor (ignoring the receptionist) that Joanne had told us we could get a massage on that day. We were then informed that THE MASSEUSE WASN'T EVEN IN TOWN. He asked the receptionist if she could look at the next available time for their masseuse ( which we already paid for) and she rolled her eyes while angrily flipping through the book. The next available appointment wasn't going to be in for another TWO - THREE WEEKS. Dr. Pevey tried his best to stay professional and keep our business and we might have given one more chance if it wasn't for that receptionist's attitude and unprofessional service. The harsh tone and attitude in her voice on top of the big sighs and eye rolls is something I might've done at 13-15 years old, but definitely not at her age or at a JOB. TL;DR -I'm sure Dr. Pevey is a respectable man. Certain things he said during the consultation rubbed me the wrong way, but he was trying to get business. -His older receptionist, Joanne, seems like a nice woman and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say she might have forgotten that the masseuse wasn't in for the next 2-3 weeks. -His younger receptionist who was working that weekend should not be working a service job. She has no professionalism, was very rude to me and my mom, and it was so transparent that she was annoyed and did not want to be there. S/O to Groupon for understanding and giving us a refund! read more

I really like my masseuse she was pretty with auburn hair and gave a lot of good home remedy for my shoulder/neck pains. She was the best, very gracious and would not take my tip. At first I thought this was a great place that is going to heal my pain however when I sat down with Dr. Pevey to discuss my treatment option, he suggested I have 65 treatments that cost around $2800 only if I pay up front. I thought that was a lot of treatments and I really do not like paying up front in case the company goes out of business or who knows what will happen. I just felt Dr. Pevey gave me a lot of pressure with his aggressive selling technique which made me feel uncomfortable. So he did one adjustment and put me in the massage chair. A week later I received a bill for $65 for adjustment and $25 for using massage chair for 10 minutes! I was in shock with a bit anger because I was never told there is an extra fee of $25 for using their massage chair. So I call in to talk to Toni to dispute this charge and she gets rude saying it was written on their form and she has been there for over 20 years which they always charge. Anyway I just told her its not fair because I was not told beforehand or else I would decline to use a massage machine for 10 minutes for $25. I will not pay this amount and will only pay for adjustment at $65. She gets the approval from Dr. Pevey so it was settled. I believe Dr. Pevey is good at what he is doing but his business practice is a bit much for me. I can't be a customer for a place that is a long term commitment feeling that they only care about one thing = money. At least don't make it so obvious that every dollar counts to you and your staff. You can see it in their eyes its ALL about money moolah cha ching. Also if you cancel your appointment after their 24 hour cancel period they will charge you. That is too much for me to handle. Dr Ray Pevey has been treating me for nearly ten years now. When I first started seeing him, the curvature in my neck was entirely backward, and the herniated disks in my lumbar area were giving me a lot of pain. I am a professional tattoo artist, for 25 years now. A lot of the artists I knew who had been tattooing as long as I had were already having surgery to their necks, or having their second or third surgery, (15-20 years of bending over tattoos for 8-12 hours a day will do that). Dr. Pevey took X-rays and went over them with me to discuss his findings. He is very thorough and very caring. After about 6 months of treatment, most of my every day pain was gone. I go for tune-ups regularly, and I have noticed improvements in my digestion and my asthma as well as relief from the neck and back pain I once suffered from. Nevertheless, I was very impressed with their service and I signed up for a 5 months treatment series to treat my 20 years long....Migraines! It has been 4 months since I started my treatment, I must say "Dr. Pevey, you're God sent, thank you for your patient and care!" my overall health has been improved over 70%, I have much less migraines and much more energy everyday. The day I arrived at Arcadia Chiropractic Center I was in excruciating pain. I was hopeful that my pain could be alleviated. Upon arrival I was greeted and helped right away. Toni, Joann, and Cheryl explained to me what the process would be during my treatment and which room I would be in and when, this help put me at ease. After meeting Dr Pevey and Dr Phifer I was ready for my treatment. Both doctors explained to me what was causing the pain in my neck, head, back, legs, arms, and feet. Dr Pevey even went over my X-rays with me and explained why the pain was happening and how treatment would help. After a few treatments with Dr Pevey and Dr Phifer I am feeling much better, still in some pain, but not like I was. Great place to go! I was very lucky to be referred to Dr. Pevey by friends because he has really helped me and always makes me comfortable and aware of what is happening. I was in a car accident and my body was sore, especially my neck. It was seriously stiff and at times it would hurt. I went to Dr. Pevey, and he had X-rays taken and we found out that my spine wasn't completely aligned and that my neck was no longer curved as it should be since it dealt with whiplash. It's a lot better now and the soreness has gone. I have to keep going though, for a bit longer since sometimes bones shift back to the wrong place and it hasn't been long enough since the accident for it to have stopped moving. I'm moving and he was kind enough to give me a referral, so that's a great help and he has files, notes and X-rays about what's been going on with my body for the next doctor to have. read more

My husband and I have seen many chiropractors in our life, and we would rate Dr. Pevey as the best we have seen. His attention to detail, understanding of the anatomy of the body, and how to combine holistic care and chiropractic care in a caring safe environment is amazing and his office was certainly a gem of a find. After seeing a handful of specialists for my chronic migraines and only being prescribed medications that weren't much help, I was desperate to find some real relief. After just a few short weeks of treatment I went an entire month without a single migraine. That is something I haven't experienced in at least 15 years! Since then I've only had a few but even those have been a lot more mild and manageable. And although I searched for a chiropractor due to migraines, I found it mending other pieces of my health as well. Such as lower back pain that was preventing me from sleeping at night.
