Ratatouille Quiche
Leah Y.

There were so many beautiful pastry and quiche options available so that you could decide between something savory and sweet. When you come in you place your order and they can heat up your food and bring it right out to you. I came in for breakfast and opted for the quiche and it was pretty good. There were a lot of veggies inside and the eggs were fluffy, but maybe a tad in the oily side for my liking. We also tried some of their tarts and French baguettes. The bread was delicious and the raspberry tart was really good. I have heard that some things can be a hit or a miss here and I can kind of understand where they are coming from. Also something to note, the items here can get pricy. The quiche I ordered was $14 even, but the had one about the same size for $20. It really depends on what you get and the type of ingredients in the item you choose. Overall, a really cute spot to check out. Tons of great options here so I would try a little of everything or read some other reviews to see what works for you and what is a skip.

Tarte Provencale
Therese K.

This adorable French bakery in Scotts Valley feels like a little slice of Provence tucked away in town. The cozy atmosphere and charming details make it a perfect spot to slow down and savor something special. The cinnamon vanilla croissant is a standout--perfectly flaky on the outside, soft and buttery inside, with just the right balance of warm spice and sweetness. It's indulgent without being heavy and pairs beautifully with a cup of coffee. The tarte provençale is equally impressive, featuring a crisp, delicate crust topped with savory, well-seasoned vegetables that taste fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Whether you're stopping in for a pastry or a light meal, this bakery delivers authentic flavors and undeniable charm. It's a must-visit for anyone in Scotts Valley who appreciates classic French baking done right.

Tent at Morgan Hill Farmers' Market 11/22/25

Admirable effort, at least. Adorable French Bakery is based in Scotts Valley, but some reviewers including myself have encountered them at farmers' markets. I saw their tent at the Morgan Hill Farmers' Market this past weekend and was interested enough to pick up some pastries to try. They had two types of Kouign Amann ($7.00) available. The Apple version was not great. It was kinda just caramelized apple sauce on top, as opposed to a pastry with intact apple pieces, and it wasn't as buttery as the Original (aka cinnamon). The Original had the right flavors generally, although some bitterness came through on both items as they were all slightly burnt. If they could simply not burn the pastries, then Adorable's original Kouign Amann would be a solid recommendation. Unfortunately, I'm more likely than not to ignore them the next time I see them around.

Cutting this up so you can see how doughy this "almond croissant" is
Emma Y.

None of the pastry items were named or priced at the farmers market, so I asked the worker what these things are and he said almond croissants. I was confused and clarified "these flat ones", and he said in a defensive tone "what do you mean flat"? I thought I'd just forget it and try it myself and he said $10 for this. I thought let me just buy it and get it over with. These almond croissants confuse me! They are like almond cookies on the edge but almond dough for the most part. There is no constants I've had in France that looks and tastes like this. They've gotta rename this! It doesn't taste bad but it's not a croissant. Bad expensive food, bad service and no wonder nobody buys those things at the farmers market. I was stunned and will never return to give another try.

Butternut Squash Soup
John C.

Went for our first visit today. The Malone's sign is still up. It seems way too big for a space for a bakery, but maybe they will make it work. We mostly had savory things, which were pretty good. My wife and I shared a tart Provencal and a butternut Squash soup. The former was decent and the latter was excellent. If you are vegetarian, tell them before they add the bacon garnish. I had a latte, which was a little weak for my taste, so if you like it strong, ask for an extra shot. We also shared a chocolate eclair. The chocolate on top was yummy, but the eclair seemed a bit chewy. They are relatively new at this location, so let them work out the kinks, but do give them a try.

Oh goodness! Adorable French Bakery comes to San Francisco farmers' produce markets on Sundays. The rest of the week I crave the goodness baked until the next Sunday. It is all good. I can not tell you what I like best, but I can tell you I bring French Pizza Tart Provencal to gatherings on Sundays when Adorable French Bakery is available all the way from Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley, Ca. Adorable French Bakery, please, please open a bistro in San Francisco. Bisous bisous!

Very expensive for the quality of pastry. The almond croissant is extremely dense while the outside was crunchy and almost burnt. Not one airy layer in sight. I've had their almond croissant from the farmers market before, but this one tasted different and like the quality had gone down or the recipe is different. The pan au chocolat was airy and flakey towards the top, however it gets denser toward the middle and looks/tastes like bread. Disappointed for the price. The service was good tho, the employees are nice. Bring cash if you want to save $, they charge a 3% service fee for card transactions.

The people are great! Ambience and place great! The place is clean. They have outdoor area which I really love because we bring our dogs with us all the time. I love all the food they have in their window. Always accommodating. A true gem to visit to just to hang out and enioy the day! You can never go wrong visiting for breakfast or brunch! Thank you!

We…read moreoriginally planned on going to the downtown location in Santa Cruz, but we ended up at the Scotts Valley location because we were staying at the Hilton there. We ended up heading over about a half hour before they closed (I think 9pm is the closing time?) They were already cleaned up (the chairs were stacked, etc), but they insisted they were open and were totally nice about it. For the people who are complaining of the price, I respectfully disagree. This place is not your average ice cream joint. From what I understand, the ice cream is made from scratch using ingredients from local farmers. The flavors are not your basic b*tch flavors, and I can totally appreciate that. My daughter got a single scoop of Fresh Mint Chip. I had a spoonful and it truly tasted like fresh mint, not that artificially flavored green mint chip stuff. I saw the sundae special for the weekend and I just couldn't pass it up. Here's what it was: mochi cakes topped with whipped cream, Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream, blood oranges, toasted almonds, and green tea (matcha) sauce. I couldn't have come up with that combination myself. It was delightful! Overall, we enjoyed it!

I spent over $20 for one thing for me and one other little one and it's kind of ridiculous. I live in Felton and I would prefer actually to go to Ace that carries Rite Aid ice cream now because of the price.

There were 2 people working there and behind the counter. No one greeted us. We looked at the menu and though we could have ordered at the counter, the staff didn't seem friendly like they wanted to be approached so we chose to order at the computerized kiosk! Other Yelpers said prices were average, but I thought the drinks were expensive! They start around $7 but that most do not include toppings, and each topping was $0.75. That adds up! (My go-to boba place in Santa Cruz has boba for $5.50, which includes 2 toppings, so....this seems like highway robbery.) Due to the high prices, out of three of us, we only ordered two drinks and only one of the drinks had an added topping. When they were done making the drinks, one drink had the plastic top sealed on and the other was placed on the counter. The staffer walked away. I was unsure if I should just take the drinks. They were clearly our drinks (I could see they were ours, plus we were the only customers), but it was odd the man put the drink there and walked away without saying anything! No communication, no eye contact. Nothing. After several minutes, he returned to complete the plastic cup cover sealing, and then he placed the cup in front of me. No "thank you", no "here you go", no "enjoy", nothing. It was odd. Other than the prices, the flavor of the boba was okay in flavor and chewiness, but the strawberry matcha drink had effects that, let's just say, caused someone hours of bathroom trips! We don't know if it was the milk or some other ingredient, but something was not right. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Soul Sweet. The store looked so cute in the photos, I think it had potential, but the freshness is important and price is an important factor.

I also loved how their store was set up and they sold local arts and crafts from the community! I love the community aspect here in Santa Cruz County! Perhaps she misread the menu, but she thought "egg stacker" was a sandwich because it was under the "bagel sandwich "category. But under the description, it does not say there's any bread. Lol, which is better for us since we're trying to be gluten-free for the day. I had an ice green tea and a salmon egg which was delicious and filling perfectly made egg with the right amount of capers and seasoning for each bite to have enough flavor on it. The green tea was perfect since it was 92°! I can't wait till we get to the beach! I was sad.
