This is a totally-fine middle-of-the-road pizza spot. If I lived closer, this would be the type of place I could tolerate once or twice per month, and would never complain about if it showed up by surprise. First up is the chicken wing pizza. For $18.50, it had better be good. It wasn't. Classic case of average pizza base topped with awful-quality breaded chicken. I know I've complained about cheap, frozen breaded chicken being used for hot wing pizza in the past. It's never acceptable if you're charging a premium price. Here, the surface coverage was great, but there was a lot more breading than chicken. Not a fan, would never order this again. Next was the "Old Forge Style" round. We were really excited for this because the name communicates that you're going to get a very special pie. In actuality, it was a thin-crust NY-style tray with nothing going for it. The sausage topping was pitiful and the sweet peppers obviously from a bottle or, if fresh, days and days past best use. Ended up picking them off with my teeth. The crust, while homemade and supple, is dry and chewy, but not as if it's undercooked. Hard to explain. It sucks the moisture out of your mouth like saltine crackers. The white pizza was somewhat of a redeemer. For the middle pieces, the portioning was great. I think that the dried herbs that NEPA pizzerias love putting on white pizza and then roasting until they're hard are an abomination, but that's another story. The only real knock on this pizza was that the end pieces were underfilled--way too bready. The end piece I had was more like a Dominos cheesy bread while the middle pieces delighted. read more

Let me start this by saying we have gone here many times and are usually happy with the food and service. Today we ordered an Old Forge style round pizza. What we received was a charged disk of pizza dough with one of the owner's daughters scurrying over to us to clarify that the cheese was a different mix and gets naturally browned. I lifted a charred slice and asked her to explain the black crust. At this point several pieces had been handled by us to demonstrate the hardness off this pizza, and after they took it away a customer next to us said he would take it. Is it me or since we had touched the food, should they have just thrown it away. This girl gave it to the customer at a discounted price of $7.00. Not an apology or reduction in price... Our 3rd and probably last time getting from this place. We have many other better local places to order from. This last time we got the grandma's 6 cut pizza ($13.95), gnocchi with meatballs ($19.45) and a side of fries ($3.50). The pizza was insanely greasy and the cheese and sauce both tasted like absolutely nothing. I ate one piece and was finished. The gnocchi was homemade, but was a tad overpriced. Francine said hands down every single night they sell out of their Deep Dish Fried Pizza. -- On my visit, the Arcaro family and staff presented me with a variety of menu items to devour, photograph, and enjoy. First the Crab stuffed mushrooms, which are served every Friday and Saturday evening and were one of her late husband's favorite appetizers. Second, Housemade Gnocchi which is made every week and filled with Impastata rather than the usual potato you see in gnocchi dishes, and topped with homemade meatballs that are amazing! I had never had gnocchi served this way before and I really enjoyed the richness and creaminess that the Impastata gave in every bite! Garlic Parm Wing Bites- drizzled in a garlic parm sauce and served with blue cheese and celery, Im a wing bite fanatic so I like to try them everywhere I go! Double Crust White Pizza- My favorite menu item! Its baked to a golden perfection, and stuffed with ooey-gooey cheese and any topping you want. I just had mine plain and I was eating it for days! I love pulling the double crusts apart to see the cheese stretch fresh outta the oven. Old Forge Red Plain Pizza- As we know, Old Forge Style Pizza is the house and family favorite in NEPA. This is where my preference for pizza differs from the norm. I wasn't raised in this area. I was born in NJ, raised about an hour or so from here until I was 10, and lived in Ohio until I was 20. I was raised mainly on NY style pizza - you know the slices that are as big as a paper plate that leave grease behind and has thick crust that breaks your jaw and takes hour to eat? However, the pizza is terrible in Ohio, so when I move back here about 10 years ago, the first thing I ordered was Pizza. With that being said, I lived in Scranton for about 9 years... I lived close to Old Forge, and right next door to Maronis Pizza for 5 years. It just wasn't my style. I tried it from many different places and couldn't and still can't understand why it's so popular? This is why I am very serious about telling people I am not a Food Critic. Everyone's tastes are different and everyone prefers different flavors, textures, and styles of food. I am not saying Old Forge Pizza is bad or gross or terrible. I am simply stating it's not for those raised outside of NEPA. You either love it, or you hate it. What I will tell you is, I have tried a lot of Old Forge Style Pizza in the past 10 years... Arcaro's the Next Generation, may have some of the better OF pizza that I have tried. It's not exactly like Old Forge Pizza- it's thicker... yet not exactly Sicilian. The sauce tastes a little different, and that is why I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed their OF Style Pizza. The red pizza came out hot and fresh, and I recommend it to anyone in the area. As the double crust white pizza was my favorite, I would try the red pizza again. Holy Cannoli! Again, I will state I am not a Food Critic. However, I find something I like I will let you know- I am not shy when it comes to matters of the gut! I was hesitant on ordering a cannoli. I hate cannolis- yes I hate them. Mainly because they are stuffed with marscapone- an Italian Cream Cheese that my taste buds just don't agree with. When Francine told me she fills theirs with Impastata, or mixed ricotta, my eyes got bigger than my plate and I asked her for one. There is only one other place in the area that I have been to that makes them this way and it's up in Dunmore and I haven't been able to find one since. Needless to say I licked the plate clean and this was my favorite item I devoured that night. I can see myself stopping in for one or two..or ten in the near future. Next generation should take business advice from the previous generation. Multiple issues on multiple orders and visits. Rude, careless, price gouging, and they don't fulfill orders. Twice I have been overcharged in the restaurant, three times my delivery ordered was never delivered. Most recently I was told they were too busy and decided to ignore it. read more

Went to this place for the first time and was disappointed. I've never had their takeout, so I don't know how that is, but their inside service was not good. The food took a good 35 minutes to come out, and my table was the only table in the place (and I was there at noon, so there couldn't have been many takeout or delivery orders). That would be fine otherwise, but our waitress was was short with us and not very friendly. I've been a server for years, so I am understanding, but the quality service was pretty hard to ignore. My chicken scampi dinner was good, but the bread that came with it was pretty stale. Would have a much better opinion of the place if their service were better. read more

We were rather disappointed with our pizza. Slice notified me that it was ready at 6:00 pm, but I had to wait at the restaurant until almost 6:45 for it to actually come out of the kitchen. I do understand it was Friday night, and they were busy; and they did give us two small free deserts for the wait. The crust was good, the cheese was good, but it had almost zero pizza sauce, just a very thin, almost token transparent coating on the crust under the cheese, not even enough to taste. Pizza should have a thick, decent smear of pizza sauce along with the cheese. Not all that sure we will give them another try. read more

Why did I give only 2 stars? Well, I'd be happy to explain. The food is really good when they are on their mark. When they are not paying attention then all bets are off. But my measly 2 star review is not based on the food. My review is based on the absolutely most terrible customer service ever. I even went so far as to check google reviews and it seems like my review is really a general consensus. I have ordered from them several times, each time with the hopes that they got their act together, but it just gets worse. Friends, if you order a delivery from here expect to wait at least 2 hours or sometimes 3 hours for delivery. And if you call to check on your order you will generally be told : A. Your order is the next one to go out the door B. It's on its way should be there any minute C. The driver left a long time ago & they don't know why he/she hasn't arrived yet. What they really need to say is : "Well customer, we at Arcaro's the Next Generation have our delivery person wait until they can take about 10 or more deliveries at one time. This is to insure that after waiting at least an hour or two to make your food you must wait at least an additional hour to have it delivered to insure that it's nice & lukewarm and/or cold & soggy". This business needs to get their #%#% together. Seriously. Arcaro's Next Generation- if you are reading this: " get your #*%# together! You've got decent food but people are going to get sick of this type of terrible service. I, for one, will happily spend my hard earned money elsewhere for good food & not have to wait 2 to 3 hours for it. I'm sure lots of other people feel the same. If you don't know how to run this type of business then hire someone to teach you. You need to fix this or in a few years you will be another closed business statistic. First time ordering from here...ordered through door dash and cannot praise them enough. We ordered a tray of plain, shrimp and peppers, boneless, and fried Oreos. The trays were delicious and crispy. I don't normally love breaded boneless but these were incredibly tasty and didn't feel breaded. Never had a fried Oreo before... wow. Tasted like an Oreo flavored funnel cake. 10/10. Will definitely order from here again. read more

I've been here several times and if I lived closer, it would be more often. Their round fresh tomato garlic is perfection; the dough is just the right thickness for this hearty pizza. Angel hair pasta with marinara is very tasty, the sauce has a delicious flavor of seasonings - basil and oregano. I always start with the large house salad, garnished with plenty of olives, tomato, cucumbers and more. They do not skimp on the dressing either. Small business, local family owned, and it is new so of course there will be some people that are unhappy. Try it for yourself, I would be amazed if you are disappointed. we ordered from arcaro's next generation when they first opened in pittston, and it was decent...we've since ordered twice and it has been worse than the previous each time. 2 hour wait for delivery, at which point food arrives tepid and nearly inedible after sitting for so long it just becomes chewable grease. delivery driver did not say two words either, not a good look toting the company line...we will NOT be ordering again. read more
