Alfredo's introduced my son and me to Old Forge pizza: mozzarella and American cheese with sauce served in squares. Really unique and the American cheese sticks to the roof of your mouth. Surprisingly good if you're not a strict traditionalist. Our pie came in yummy squares and the crust had a delicious, slightly flaky quality to it. The Caesar salad was delicious with generous shavings of good parmigiano Reggiano. Our waiter was a true gentleman - kind and explained the Old Forge way to these NY born-and-raised customers. They have comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and the place was very welcoming. It's clearly a favorite red sauce joint. I could see why the place has won the Scranton-wide love it's received. Of course we grabbed an Alfredo's "Home of the GOOD Pizza!" t-shirt on the way out!

In all of my 32 years, this was literally the best buffalo chicken pizza I've EVER eaten! I regretted my decision: It was an ever-so-pleasant, slightly sweet, based, mild buffalo sauce. The pizza actually has thin slices of breaded chicken as a topping. I've never found a buff chic pizza that had chunks of baked, well-seasoned, thinly-sliced, breaded chicken tenders on top. It reminds me of what you'd find at a place like Ninas on their breaded hot wing hoagie; with a very similar sauce profile. This wouldn't be a true pizza review if I didn't note any critiques. The Dough was definitely homemade but it was slightly under done for my liking *I do understand they were pumping out hundreds to trays during the festival. The only aspect of this keeping it from being a 9.5+ slice was a little char on the undercarriage. We met the owner, Stefano, and despite the restaurant being at its busiest peak, he couldn't have been more welcoming, kind, and attentive. Speaking Italian with him instantly brought us back to Italy. He embodies the warmth and hospitality we miss so much. The food was authentic, fresh, and clearly made with great attention to detail. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu, and every dish was outstanding. Honestly, it's hard to choose a favorite because everything was so good. Even our kids said they felt like they were back in Italy. They especially loved the pizza.
