I have known Jose Villa, owner of Architectural Stone and Iron Element in Phoenix, for over 5 years. He installed artistic stonework in my home in Scottsdale, AZ. That upgraded the house significantly to the extent that any friends and relatives who came to the house couldn't believe their eyes. Also, I was able to sell the house about a year ago with handsome gain. Now, in the new house in Gilbert, AZ, I have similar work done for the courtyard, fountain, mantle, fireplace, and TV surround. Carving art on stone is done by the artist and is hard work. Setting up and installing the heavy stone requires skill and equipment. Considering these, his charges are very reasonable. Mr. Villa is very experienced and knowledgeable about his work. He has a great sense of visual artwork on stone and aesthetics. Mr. Villa is very personable, communicable, and professional. So is his administrator, Mr. Martin Villa. His workers are highly skilled, reliable, and work as a team. I am very lucky to have found his company and got stonework done from him. We remodeled our gas fireplace and were looking for a very different style. We weren't really sure what type of mantle we wanted, only that we wanted something to make a statement in our living room. We were referred to Ivet and Alex at Architectural Stone Elements. From my very first contact with them, I found them to be friendly and super responsive. We visited their showroom to get some ideas and narrow down what we wanted. Ivet also did some great research to share some ideas with us. They did the first rendering and we had a few questions, so we called to ask for help. Alex came over to the house to talk it through and help us decide. We had questions about the size/proportion of the mantle (how far out from the wall, how wide for the legs, how much detail in the design, what height the mantle should be...) Alex was a true pro and his experience showed. He shared great advice while leaving the decisions to us. We revised the rendering only one time after that and placed our order. This was the summer of 2022, so still some supply chain issues going on. They were able to get our mantle ordered and delivered in about 4 weeks and quickly scheduled the install. All their workers were on time, polite, friendly, considerate, and excellent craftsmen. We are thrilled with the job they did! Stopped by to check out some limestone and they had an impressive variety to look at and offered shaded areas for viewing. The employee was very knowledgable, helpful, and kind. The inside however, needs to be bulldozed. The office is so tiny and very cramped and messy. Felt very old, grimy, dark, and dirty. No gloves or mask was worn by the employee either which I would assume at this time would be important. I would recommend they clean up the office and offer a proper seating area. Other than that, I did like their selection and they were easy to work with. read more

Architectural Stone Elements installed the most amazing limestone fireplace in my condo in last weekend, and FAR EXCEEDED my expectations! My initial visit was 12 months ago, just to get ideas and find a piece that brought me joy. To be honest, I was hesitant at first because I thought the selection would be limited and overpriced, but decided to go anyway, and I'm SO HAPPY I did! Once I arrived, I grabbed my heart in awe. I was not prepared for this level of beauty. The options/choices were endless, and the bold contrast of the white limestone literally took my breath away. James and Martin were both so knowledgeable, friendly, and have great attention to detail! It took me a few trips/months to narrow my selection (hardest part) and save up for the piece, but I finally did it!! I HAD to HAVE IT! When it came to remodeling my 2-bedroom condo, I wanted something that would "WOW" my guests and/or future homebuyers. My fireplace is the first thing my guests see, and I want them to feel in awe, every time they enter my home. Once it was installed, I cried (a few times). I felt so proud that this was mine, in my home. This one-of-a-kind piece of art, that was formed in oceans and lakes over millions of years ago, is mother nature telling her story. Limestone (unlike porcelain, ceramic, or glass tile) will never go out of style (as it was used for the ancient pyramids, cathedrals, and other historic sites). I'm honored to have it displayed in my Living Room for my family and friends to enjoy for decades. The reactions I've received have been priceless! We contracted Architectural Stone Elements to build us an elegant fountain. It started out pretty normal. They subcontracted the work to an actual fountain company and certain design elements that we requested seemed to be understood. It took a while for the fountain to work property after it had a toilet bowl floater leveler :(. After completion we had no real communication on warrantees or necessary information on the pump installed. We decided to not run the fountain for a bit in order to have tile work done to make it look charming. Once that was done and we put water in the fountain it started leaking through the base on all four sides. Architectural Stone and Elements basically blamed us for the leaks saying they sealed it properly and the people we had lay the tile were the ones who messed it up. They did give us information on the product they used to seal it, but ultimately pointed blame. After untiling it and retiling and then resealing the fountain stopped working altogether. We tried to contact Architectural Stone and Elements several times, we finally emailed them and they returned the email letting us know that the 3rd party who worked on the fountain would contact us. We waited a long while, then emailed them back again to ask for the worker's number. They were unable to comply and told us to wait to hear from the worker. Two weeks later we heard back from the workers. They came today to let us know that the pump isn't working. They didn't know if we were under warranty. We called Architectural Stone and were told we have no warranty maybe there is warranty on the equipment so we would have to check with the manufacturer. We decided to hire a different company all together and just fix it. The problem was the pump was too big and it got burned being run on this small fountain. They installed the right size pump there is no pump running noise. All is well when ends well but I would not recommend Architectural Stone Elements. read more

Recently we decided to have our fireplace redone with this company and the end result is nothing short of AMAZING! They have high quality materials and an amazing selection, which made choosing them for the job easy but choosing a product difficult! :) They are very reasonably priced and extremely professional. They showed up to the job EARLY and finished the job EARLY - how often can you say that about a company? They genuinely love what they do and it shows. With highly skilled workers, the craftsmanship cannot be beat. And, to top it all off, they were extremely clean. My house looked exactly the same as when they entered it the first day, which means a lot to me because that's the one thing I dread about home improvements - the clean up. We had been working with another supplier for a month or so on design and concepts and decided to bring in Architectural Stone Elements as a second bid. Architectural Stone Elements quickly understood and provided fireplace mantel surround designs that we were looking for, not to mention that their price estimate was 30% below the other competitor. We decided to proceed with Architectural Stone Elements and were promised an 8 week delivery time which Architectural Stone Elements delivered and installed two weeks early (which was great). The installers were very professional and clean. One of the surround pieces was well in excess of a 1,000 lbs and after the installation was complete, our home was left immaculately clean with a great new fireplace surround in place. We had a small interior cantera stone coping ledge that had been damaged and needed to be replaced. Didn't think that anyone would take on a small job. Architectural Stone Elements, James Valentine took the time to come to the house to survey the issue, then special ordered what happened to be an unusual size. Then after being fabricated, he personally brought the stone to the house with his crew who then expertly removed the old stone and installed the new one .... and stuck to the original quote.
