I went here for a muffler delete and a resonator delete. It was initially 200 for the muffler delete and he did an amazing job with great welds. He showed me what it sounded like then started with the resonator which was 80. I didn't like the sound of a straight pipe so for another 80 he put it back on. Very friendly people, they are open until 5. Would recommend to anyone getting basic exhaust work done. Also amazing pricing. read more

The tailpipe on my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk wiggled loose and was dragging on the ground. It was old, from 1937 and I couldn't find the piece anywhere so I walked up the street to the shop with the funny-looking welded-muffler man overlooking their roof and asked the guys if they could fix it. Hector took a look, then fished out exactly the right brass bit from what I'd mistaken for jumbled box of junk. Quick fix to my exhaust leak. They looked at my car as soon as I arrived and showed me that someone tried to steal my catalytic converter. There was a clean cut on the exhaust pipe and he told me he could weld then and there, and charged me $30. It was done in 10 mins and my car sounds great again. read more

Had to take my car here. Overcharged me. The parts was $80 for the cat and labor to weld it was $300. To weld a standard catalytic converter shouldn't take more than an hour to cut off and weld. I work at a dealership and I do work on my car and even have a Mig welder. I went to Mikes Muffler in El Monte and same thing i did, i only paid $180. This is including a new cat on the exact car plus Mike welded a hole in my muffler and welded a broken hanger and new gaskets, and explained to me about options and catalytic converters between Catco, Walker and other options. Mikes Muffler told me, its $110 for the part and $70 for labor. Arco Iris said $380, And Im assuming its an expensive cat. Come to find they are Catco catalytic converters that retail for $80-105. They straight up took advantage because I had to have my smog done that day and they knew it. So they jacked up the price. Thats in my opinion very shady and exploiting people at their weakness. I didn't realize until I looked at my receipt. Failure to explain the charges and not disclosing information is lying. I will drive 25 miles to an honest shop now, Arco Iris is 5 minutes from me, I feel ripped off every time I pass by them. read more

-no appointments, but it took 3 return visits after my estimate -I was quoted $100 for a simple job, not exactly cheap, but it's because I drive a newer BMW. That's bull. -when I finally got them to do the 40 minute job and was walking away, the skinnier guy told me the estimate was "per side", so double. I said I heard what the stockier guy said: El costo es por cada lado, basically "tell him it costs double" or something similar to that. -when I was getting my estimate a kid in a 25 year old Acura wanted his exhaust replaced and he was told it was a lot cheaper to just replace the whole thing without getting another catalytic converter. That's illegal and bad for the environment, not to mention that poor kids car won't pass smog. You know all the oil burning imports with 200k miles and rebuilt titles that have fart cannon mufflers and removed emissions systems?? You can thank these guys. This place is an eyesore. Hopefully the taco cart out front can somehow buy the shop and make it a great restaurant. read more

I got my exhaust here 2 years ago for an excellent price and I have loved it ever since. It makes such a unique and rich sound. Everyone knows when I have arrived somewhere, even my dog can hear me coming home from a block away and gets excited =P I recently messed up the system by scraping the exhaust against a parking divider at the car wash =( my fault. I was already thinking of taking it back here for the fix, but first I thought I should ask my Dad who is a mechanic trainee and has worked in the automotive industry for 20+ years where I should take it. Funny thing the first place he suggested that he has worked with and loved for many years was Arco Iris! They were cool. I had a motorcycle muffler which had broken off, and needed welding, and a custom version of the same muffler that my buddy and I had packed all wrong. I asked them to cut, clean, and re-weld the custom muffler, and even though it was a crapshoot as to how to fix our strange muffler design, they gave it their best, and all of it went pretty quick.. got out for seventy five bucks, a fair price to me... and they treated me like a human being. Took my Subaru here last minute on a Saturday with only a few hours left before the shop close. Thought I just needed a flange welded onto my mid pipe, but it ended up not fitting with my down pipe. He was able to make a couple cuts and welds to fab a custom mid pipe for me and also welded on a new bracket for the hanger. I was told by some friends this place can do some exhaust modding and welding. Apparently I can't because my car was "too low". At least give some options or try to get some business going by offering ways on how to get a lowered car on the lift at least. Two guys over there seemed like they didn't want to deal with such hassle. I wouldn't go here at all if you own any vehicle that is lowered because their lift is pretty high. read more
