At this point in my life, I'm pretty much exclusively a Costco gas guy, however, desperate times call for desperate measures. If I do end up needing gas when I'm near this area, this is my go to station. The prices here seem cheaper than most, especially when scoring the cash price per gallon. I do like how they have sanitizer pumps, near the gas pumps, however I can't tell you if they're always full. My biggest gripe about this station is that it's really hard to get in and out. The pump lanes are really narrow so you might have to back out after gassing up. Even though it's a bit of a hassle, I'll definitely do it for the cheaper gas. While you're here, you might as well run across the street to Pancho Villas farmer's market for some fresh tortillas or pan dulce. read more

Wish I could give a negative review but this place has a scam going being I used my credit card and it authorized what was on it being 99.00 and I only got 20 in gas. That money the 79 bucks has been on hold and never released and here it is over a month later. They are individually owned and the manager as well as the employees were rude and inconsiderate and don't bother contacting their customer support it gets you nowhere. The station across the street that just did some new renovation are super friendly and has never over charged me so beware and always look if they authorized the amount they release it being its probably a scam since they started taking credit and debit I'm just saying it could happen to you and they don't care. read more

I have always had a problem with Arco but this one was worse then ever. For a debit card there is no option to skip the pin, which is a big security issue. Due to my dire need of gas, I put in my pin and was told i would be charged an ADDITIONAL $0.35 per gallon. Um NO! So i decide to grab my credit card so I can avoid the fee and it asked for a pin on this card too... which I don't have because it is a credit card. I ended up leaving here angry and with no gas. You are better off going to the 76 half a mile away, or even better at the Shell 1 mile away. This is my third time in a row going to an Arco and leaving with no gas. If you pay with card, avoid at all cost!!! read more

I do like that this gas station is conveniently placed by the 805 on ramp on El Cajon Blvd, but it's just so tiny and a bit ghetto. There are not that many pumps for such a densely populated area, making it hard to find a pump that isn't occupied. When you do actually find a free pump, it takes some maneuvering to actually get in there. The station is located on a busy street corner and might seem a bit sketchy at night so be careful. Maybe, bring a knife or pepper spray for protection. The silver lining of this Arco is that the gas prices are actually pretty reasonable but the machines don't take credit card, just debit cards with a 35 cent fee. Overall, it gets the job done at a not so bad cost. read more

I always go to this particular gas station to fill up my tank and am a loyal customer. But why 4 stars? Well let me tell you! 1. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP gas. This Arco always will have the lowest gas prices! 2. Every time I go, morning, afternoon, evening, sunrise, sunset, this place is always so damn crowded and I have to wait like 5 minutes or tetris my way around. It is like a video game. 20 points if you hit the hummer, bonus points for backing up into the lane. 3. The people who work there are Mexican and creepy. Now, I am not saying that Mexican people are creepy just these Mexicans who work here are. But it makes the gas experience more interesting and spicy I think. 4. What is up with this convenience fee of $.45 cents. If you don't pay with cash, your fucked and have to pay this bogus convenience fee. So make sure you ALWAYS PAY WITH CASH, and your golden. If you pay with your debt/credit card, it is pointless to even come here because you end up paying extra. NO BUENO. So if you are in the area, make sure to fill up here before you bounce on out! read more

The cashier Leonia at AM/PM rang me up and my total came to 3.71. I handed her 4.00. She gave me back a quarter. I told her she shorted me 4 cents. She looked at me with a tilted head and said "what do you want me to do?" I told her if you don't have pennies give me a nickel. She replied are you serious?! It's four cents. I told her yes, it's four cents. It's my four cents and you shorted me my change you don't need to be rude and make this out to be my fault. It would be different if you said I don't have pennies and asked if it was ok if you just gave me a quarter. She looked at me with a blank stare and I asked "Are you going to open the drawer and give me my change?" She mumbled something opened the drawer and gave me four pennies. I told her seriously, you're acting like this because you shorted me money? Regardless of how much it was its my money. You wouldn't like it if you came into my place of business and I shorted you cash and gave you attitude when you asked for your money. It's not the four cents it's the principle and for you to be rude about me asking for my money back is unacceptable. read more

I have only used Arco twice and that is because I let my gas tank run down so far, that I was pretty much coasting into the station on fumes. Otherwise I refuse to use them solely for the fact of their forcing you to use their debit machine which tacks on a service fee. Gee thanks, can I possibly pay more for that honor? I'm sure you'll find a way soon enough. I didn't find their gas to be cheap at all, in fact they were on par with the really expensive Shell station by my house that is over priced because it is right off of a highway. read more

When United Oil's gas pumps were broken it gave me a digital message to see the cashier. It would not take my card and I Ieft. I ended up passing this place later in the day. I was able to get gas and leave in a decent amount of time. Small lot so maneuver carefully. The end. read more

Arco Pros and cons. Pros.-cheap gas, easily locatable, some have alcohol, good food selction Cons-cash or debit only(45 cent fee for debit) because cheap sometimes you need to wait to get gas. Arco's don't take credit cards, forcing you to pay cash or use debit, on which they will tack on a fee for the latter. Add to that the fee my bank will charge me and you get a big ol' middle finger from me. read more

This like many Arcos are just ok. Gas prices are lower and staff is friendly. Premises are clean. You can often see some of the riffraff from the area but just take care of business and be on your way. Bring cash or be ready for the .35 cent charge. read more

I would avoid using the auto-pay stations, instead pay the cashier directly. I put in $30, only received $10 in gas. They didn't believe me, had a big argument, and they were like "call the manager tomorrow". Had to call 3 times, wait multiple days, and finally got the green light to get my $20. Had to drive back to the place, no apologies, nothing. Huge waste of time. Will never use again. read more
