Not sure if these guys are honest or not, but they came out, did about 30 minutes of work, just sprayed down the condenser coils and cleaned it for us after some troubleshooting. Charged us $285. We had these guys come to replace our water heater which hasn't been giving us enough hot water. A tech came over and checked the system and explained carefully about how it was functioning and what to expect with a new one. Very professional and polite. I felt that it was very clear that he was not trying to be a saleman and told us that while we wanted to replace the system the real issue was that, since we now have two more kids in the family we were demanding more hot water than our heater could handle. He tested our system and explained what he was doing clearly. They also laid down cloths in the walk way as to make sure they didn't bring dirt in or make a mess and cleaned up afterwards. I'm not sure about the other reviews but we had a very good experience. In the past we also had them install a new furnace which runs great. Seems like people might be confusing this company with a different company by the same name. Dan came to fix our humidifier. He came in the time allotted and was quick to diagnose the problem. Luckily he also had the part on hand to replace a haywire circuit that didn't allow the unit to turn off. He was courteous and fast, wore shoe covers around the house when he stepped inside. And since our AC unit was under warranty, it didn't cost me a thing. He also had no problems with my curious kids bothering him the whole time. read more

Have used them for multiple years and they have been regularly servicing our AC and heating units. Expensive but we thought quality was good. Until one of our AC units broke down! They sent someone who said capacitor was broken. Paid approx $250 to have that repaired. A week later broke down again. This time they sent someone else who said the first guy was wrong and problem was with the motor which would cost another $700 or we could buy a new unit for $4500. This is when we decided to get a second opinion. This technician said the problem was simple. The motor had not been oiled (part of the annual service we had paid for); he oiled it well and Lo behold unit is now working perfectly fine for over a month!! Obviously they hire people who are clueless or get commissions on the max they can get from their long time customers. Either way stay away. read more

It pains me to even give this company one star, but I have to in order to leave this review. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I live in HARBOUR CLUB. Last year, they were called to replace my neighbor's air conditioning unit. Instead of checking to be sure they were at the correct unit, they opened mine and started taking it apart, letting all my freon out. When I called them, their response was that I would need to PAY for a service call for someone to come back. They refused to correct this problem they caused. At that time, I just let it go and had another company come out to replace ALL the freon they let out as I had none left. It was NOT cheap! Two days ago, I found another ARCTiC AIR service man OPENING MY UNIT AGAIN! Luckily, I was home and ran outside to stop him. I called the company again, to issue a formal complaint. Why do these people keep coming to my home and opening my unit??? Again, they were supposed to be at a neighbor's unit. I was told I would hear back by the end of the day. That was two days ago. Obviously they don't care enough to respond. I'm contacting the BBB and will obviously need to put a sign on my unit that says "ARCTIC AIR - I DID NOT CALL YOU FOR SERVICE. This place is a joke. Our A/C stopped working and after 4 times here and 4 times of them saying it's fixed, the house is still 87° and rising. They blame it on the heat outside. They make up pathetic excuses, especially since the service manager was at our house now 2 times and counting, not to mention they created another problem in the attic and blamed it on us, and one of their workers created another "slight problem". I spent over 12 thousand dollars with Artic Air since I moved into my current house. My experience has usually been good. I recently used them to replace a motor in my air handler which is in my attic. They ordered the part on Monday so I took off from work on Tuesday. I waited all day on Tuesday for a call saying that they got the part and when they would be arriving to replace the motor. When no call came I called them at 3 o'clock. Then the lady in the office, who had no idea regarding this job or part put me on hold for what seemed to be 10 minutes. I hung up and called again asking to speak to the owner. The owner gets on the phone offering no reasoning as to why I did not hear from them all day. He very nastily said, I'll have some one there in 30 minutes. The guy they sent was scary, telling me that his friend had just died. The last guy you want up in your attic. I called the company to complain. 15 minutes later they sent Herb, the service mgr. who had called me earlier to lie to me as to why they hadn't called me all day. I don't like survey or reviews. But I must praise the exceptional quality of this team of professionals. It is difficult to decide on who to use for our home HVAC replacement. It is no fun having many strangers coming to your house and listen to sales pitch for a quote. However It was time since our current HVAC units are more than 20 years old. Russ visited our home to discussed the various options for replacing the attic furnace and A/C. Also the basement furnace too. Russ was very thorough and knowledgeable. He was patient in explaining the air requirements and measures all the rooms. He pointed out our hot water heaters are rusting and may need to be replace. I know this may sound like he is selling us more than we asked. My husband and I went for the hot water broilers replacement too. The 2 teams that came to our house to installed the attic units , basement furnace and hot water broilers were quiet, knowledgeable, and did not leave a mess! We have 3 people working from home that's why I emphasized quiet. The most amazing event for us was when we have the hottest shower in our master bathroom now. We had the hot water broilers replaced once but it was not like this. I will come back to share more after the A/C season begins since we do know if it works. My mother called to have her upstairs air conditioning checked out since it seemed to stop cooling. She's been using Arctic AC for years-- for her medical offices, at home etc. I don't know WHAT happened to this company it's completely gone downhill and is a total scam. The service person showed up this morning and was so incredibly rude to my mother, it was disgusting. When she asked him why he talking to her in such a nasty way, he replied, "You're telling me to do work that I just don't want to do." Lies. Complete lies. I He kept talking down to her, as if my mother couldn't speak English or understand him--she's an educated doctor!! When my mom phoned up to talk to someone about this, the manager replied, "Well it's hot outside and he's probably tired." What horrible service and even worse people. Never dealing with them again. The service guys are miserable and take out their misery on their customers. Not our fault if they aren't getting paid well or whatever other issues they have. This has to deal with the customer service received while trying to get a quote..... I was shopping around and attempting to get quotes for a new outside unit, while on the phone, I informed the rep that I was comparing prices and told him what I was looking for. During the call, the person told me that the competitions price was too low and make sure their not illegal because of permits etc.. I do not appreciate people talking down to me like I'm an idiot and I would do something illegal. On top of that, the person hung up on my after their speal about getting permits and such. I am an easy going consumer and was trying to get prices and shop. In my opinion this was definitely rude and uncalled for. I will take my business elsewhere. Very happy with our decision to have Arctic install central AC and a new furnace. Our systems were very old/inefficient and needed to be replaced. The new systems are more quiet, cleaner, and energy efficient. The house temperature and air quality is noticeably better, and very comfortable now. I wish we had called Arctic sooner! Excellent service from start to finish. No high pressure sales from them and the price was comparable to another company we received an estimate from. Install team worked efficiently and neatly. Very professional and took the time to answer any questions we had. They showed us how to operate the new thermostat which looks like a mini iPad on the wall, and has an app which is a great feature to make changes or monitor the system remotely. Very easy to use. We did purchase a sturdy cover from Arctic for our Lennox AC unit to protect it from the winter weather ($75 and it arrived 48 hrs. later by mail). Would highly recommend this company. read more

I bought my mini-splits, Mitsubishi, from Arctic several years ago. Best decision we ever made. Having a complete remodel done on a section of our home. Contractor needed to have unit pulled from wall and a section of hose/wire elongated. When I contacted the office I was rocked by the quoted price! After all, I only needed 6" more inches. Size matters folks Contractor tried to reconfigure the design idea, but none of the options worked aesthetically. Sooo, I called back and they were able to get someone out in a few days. Matt A. showed up at the beginning of the 2 hr window allotted & promptly assessed the work by speaking with the contractors. He kept us informed throughout. Wore his mask (for our benefit since we were wearing them) and was the ultimate professional every step of the way. We've never once had them try to up-charge or over sell a service to us. I'm still wide-eyed over the cost, but we researched afterwards & it was fair. We love our mini-splits and we appreciate Arctic Air & their staff for their customer service & responsiveness to our needs. read more

My install was just finished today and I couldn't wait to post a review on what an excellent job they did. I had an old boiler replaced with a new Navien unit and ac and ductwork installed because I had no ac at all. The price was far more reasonable than the other companies I had come by. It was a big job that took multiple days and a lot of man power. Paul and crew did the ac and ductwork to perfection. These are professionals people! The crew came ready to work and were super friendly. They went over exactly what they planned to do and the ductwork is seamless. I then had Seymour, Mike and crew come to do the new fancy boiler. See the pics! I've never seen metal look so pretty! It looks like someone with OCD did the job- they did it so smoothly and neatly. So I just used this company for the first time and had a very positive experience. They initially confirmed my appointment by email and sent a reminder. I also received a text when the technician was on his way. Jesse arrived on time and was polite and professional. We hired them just for an AC maintenance/tune up. All went smoothly. He pointed one small issue with my condensation pump drain pipe. He then installed a pvc union so that it can be opened and cleaned in the future to ensure it never gets clogged. That was only an additional $15 - very reasonable and made perfect sense. Overall it was a good job at a fair price. read more

I had Arctic Air come to check out my hot water heating system, which has been operating well but making a lot of noise. After examine and cleaning the system, the technician installed a new valve to release air trapped in the system and the noise is gone. Another company said I had to replace the whole system because of a clog that couldn't be repaired. Arctic Air also installed a new AC unit in my home a few years ago and we were very pleased with the service then also. They came on time, did a thorough job removing the old system (which is in the attic) and installing the new one. They cleaned up nicely and made sure I was able to get the rebate due me. They show up on schedule and do good work at a fair price. That's all I could ask for. read more

A nightmare experience! Sales guy Jerry was a sweet heart, after that, pure doom! When they left, my kitchen remained at 95 degrees, even though I bought the larger, more expensive unit. (9 grand here!!) NO COOL AIR was coming out of the kitchen vent, and that hose line was just replaced with a new one. When I mentioned it to the head tech I was rudely told, and get this: "It's not about the curtains blowing; let the system get up to speed." However, the other rooms were (luckily) FREEZING cold. Of course I mentioned that. Then I was told: "Your old system was probably over-sized" (WHAT!!!) That old unit was from 1986 and was 1/4 the size of the monster unit I just paid for! Basically, I was spoken to "like a silly woman at a sleazy car dealership" - that's the only phrase I can use. After a day of ZERO cool air in the kitchen (from the SHORTEST RUN from the unit in the attic) I called my bank and made them cancel the check!! THANK GOD I DID THIS!!! It was the only thing to make the "actual GOOD crew" (who I hadn't met yet) come around and correct this mess. In addition to all this, the smart-asss workers turned my attic ceiling fan to ZERO so it was running all the time to compensate for the failure of the one vent. I had to go up and correct this on my own. Also, the 1st crew were obnoxious, loud, dropping tools down the attic stairs over and over. LATER, I realized that my ceiling in my bathroom was cracked from the weight of 6 or 7 guys doing a dance up there. I was left with a mess all over the floors of insulation and filth from the attic. I had to Hoover it all up on my own. FINALLY, the 2nd "real crew" (after I stopped payment on the check) told me: "It was a botched job, they used WHATEVER THEY HAD ON THE TRUCK to get it done. The kitchen vent was totally undersized." They also had to re-do the outside portion of the project which was also left in a quite a state of disarray. I also KNOW they did something to my 220v line because they fried my NEW dryer. I could not prove this but it is the truth. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! HORROR SHOW!!! read more

Artic Air provides great services whether its general maintenance or short response time when our system wasn't working. They have after hours beepers in time of need. One December Friday night I came home at 8:30pm to find my heat not working on a really freezing cold night. My thermostat was already down to 62 degrees. I called Artic Air and left a message as the office was closed. Within a few minutes that night I received a call back from the on-call technician who said he would be there within 30 mins. He got us back up and running with heat. Problem resolved. I experienced fabulous service in the summer when my air conditioner drain was clogged and was leaking. VERY RESPONSIVE. read more

i have used Arctic for years and have had good service in the past but before you hire them for anything do your homework. I lost heat on a Sunday and had Arctic come out on an emergency call. They were courteous on the phone and very quick to get someone out. I understood upfront i would get charged $135 for the service call, no problem. The tech was also courteous and knowledgeable. I already had a suspicion it was my draft inducer blower and a busted ignitor (i broke it by accident). he confirmed the bearings in the blower were shot and the ignitor was busted. Typically i'll fix this myself but it was cold and i didn't have the parts so that's why i had them come out expecting it would get fixed that day. Unfortunately, or fortunately, they had to order the parts as well. So i went and priced the parts, $90 for the blower on and $20 for the igniter on Amazon, total $110 and i would get it Tuesday. I also YouTubed how to fix it, literally 5 screws, 2 vacuum lines and 2 electrical connectors, 15 minutes worth of work. So all together it cost me $110 and 15 minutes of my time, Arctic gave me a quote for $925 to fix it. Now, I get Arctic is entitled to mark up parts, labor and make a profit but this is beyond ridiculous. read more

Last week my furnace stopped working during a particularly cold spell. My house has a 5 year old and a 9 month pregnant wife, so this was what I thought was an emergency. PSE&G apparently didn't think so and said since it wasn't a gas issue they couldn't get anyone out for two days. Arctic had someone out that night. He informed me we could attempt to replace the gas fuse, but there was only a chance that would work, or replace the whole unit. We decided to wait for PSE&G and what a mistake. Two days later their tech showed up to our house reeking of alcohol took a 10 second look at it and said "You should go with the other company." We called Arctic back (Who had also tried to resolve this issue for us by having PSEG increase the gas pressure to the house, which would have been zero cost to us,) and met with their salesman Tom who was training a new associate. Both were polite, professional and friendly. I was so impressed I decided to replace our AC as well since that has been failing the past two seasons. The day of the install the two techs showed up on time, were very professional and efficient in a job that was quite extensive. They told me right at the start how long the job would take and finished within 10 minutes of that estimate. They drop clothed the house and cleaned up. When they left you never would have known they were there except for the fact the house was actually warm again. read more

As a person who spent over 30 years in the electrical contracting industry I am saying Thank you to Arctic Air for the most professional installation of a central air conditioning system. From getting a evaluation and price through final review of the installation not a detail was missed. The men arrived at the time that was promised, respectfully introducing themselves . They reviewed what was to be done and explained what was going to be the course of action. Drop cloths were laid out across the entire house and down the stairs that led to my basement. They worked non stop and didn't stop til finished. They showed me what they did and answered all my questions. The workmanship was excellent and not a corner was a taken. I'm a new homeowner and signed up for a $99 cooling system servicing via Home Depot. Home depot sent this company out to perform a service maintenance. They came twice. Each service was $99 The first time, my freon was out and so was a fuse. The guy replaced the fuse and freon. Worked for 2 weeks and stopped. Second time, the guy came in and within 5 minutes told us the whole HVAC sytsem has to be changed because the freon had totally ran out again and the leak may be from the coil - which is irreplaceable. I sought a second opinion from PSEG. I had signed up for PSEG worry-free. Their engineer came in: 1. Determined that another fuse somewhere was out and replaced it. 2. Checked Freon levels and determined that it was OK 3. Found an incidental gas leak with the heating system and fixed it. PSEG did not charge me for a service call. Thanks to PSEG, It's been a month and the AC is working fine even in 92F humid weather. Had I listened to the guy from Arctic AC, I would have spent $7000 i did not have to spend now. read more

Had a full a/c heat system installed only 6 years ago and had problems every year. From sticky gas valve that took 3 different technicians to figure out, to broken condensation pump mounted in such a bad location that it would freeze during winter to now dealing with a blower motor not coming up to speed and artic air now sent out 3 techs. The owner is not concerned about your comfort only his bottom line over charging for parts up to 500% and billing for labor everytime a tech shows up. Stay away. read more

My hot water heater was leaking and I knew that my furnace was from 1996. I originally called NJ home that I used on a regular basis to fix my equipment year after year big mistake. I heard great things about Arctic on the next-door app and decided to call them Last Sunday and they were there the next day Monday for the estimate and I had a brand new water heater, furnace an air-conditioning unit installed with a humidifier and an air purifier by that Wednesday of the same week. I cannot be happier with the quality of work. The team that came out to do the work was amazing I wish I could list all their names but they were professional and knew exactly what they were doing and were in at 8 AM and finished the entire job by 4 PM. They clean up, they cover their feet they put tarps down, very neat. The air quality in my home is such a huge difference I also purchased the Reme Halo air purification system since my son has asthma and allergies and honestly we feel like the air quality is so much better and we can breathe so much better I highly recommend the system. So I would like to say don't search no more, I would never go with anybody else but Artic. I am an extremely happy customer can't you tell..... Dave their sales person Is super knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me and gave me a great education in HVAC. He told me exactly what they were going to do, how they were going to do it and they're pricing was reasonable. Oh and I can't forget my new Wi-Fi thermostat is super amazing too. These guys are nothing but scam artists. They voided the warranty on my brand new furnace with no explanation. The first tech they sent out kept finding reasons to hang around so he could charge me more money. After finally very sternly telling him to get out of my house I received a call asking if the owner of the company could come out and take a look. I politely explained that he could come out and try to figure out what the problem was but that I would not be paying. The next day when he arrived he literally made up a problem and told me it would cost $400 to fix. Luckily I happen to be a mechanical engineer so I understand how heating systems work. This guy actually made up words like a sitcom car mechanic. I don't know how this company is still in business. read more

Article Air came for a service call, found a problem and quoted me $700 for the repair which could be performed right then and there. Once they found out that we had a warranty, I was told they couldn't do it at that time as they had other appointments. I waited 2 weeks for this appointment. I've been told it's up to Howard who is the owner of the company to authorize the work to be done, but he doesn't seem to be available. However, when we were going to pay for the repair, he was available and so was the technician. Buyer beware doing business with a company that doesn't honor warrantee work.
