The music is a perfect noise level, the decor is cute and clever. Service is kind and swiftly. Now the food. Woof. First off, your eyes will be bigger than your stomach for sure cause the arepas and empanadas are both big and I could've just done one. Both items I got were so flavorful and every bite hit. I used both the garlic sauce and the house green sauce! It really topped off everything. Especially with the plantain sweetness.

The food here is good, but not great. If you're craving an arepa it'll get the job done but I don't find myself coming here very often because the food lacks some flavor. I get the vegan arepa and the plantains aren't very sweet, and it's a little dry. The garlic sauce is great though and is the big reason why I've come here more than once. My husband likes the meat options, so may be better for meat eaters!

This place has it all-ambience, service and tasty food. But that might not be enough to convince you-so let me say more. The entire restaurant is designed with Venezuelan décor, colors and theme. When I visited, it was Christmastime, and there was a giant decorated tree in the lobby. I wish I'd taken a picture, but I was too much in awe to pull out my camera. There's a full bar, which we didn't check out, but it's good to know that's an option if you want it. They also had a space for a live band and I hear they have dancing on the weekends. I can only imagine how much fun that would be! As for the food, it's absolutely top shelf. Everything we tried was delicious, authentic and fresh. I'll admit, I wasn't sure what everything was, but my friend who's much more familiar with this cuisine, ordered a sampling and I tried a little bit of it all. My favorite was the shredded chicken empanada. Yum! Like others have mentioned, there is ample parking outside, as opposed to the downtown location where parking comes at a premium. I'll return to check out this live dancing scene and report back.

We love this place! I am sure that arepas will be served in heaven and this place does an amazing job of making them. The shredded beef arepa with cheese, plantains and black beans was my favorite thing I've tried here, but everything we've Gotten has been amazing. The ambiance is so fun with this location set up for live music and with Venezuelan memorabilia throughout the place. We will be back soon!

So so so amazing! I am so glad I know about this location now. I had only been to the downtown Salt Lake location prior. This location has a larger menu and a lot more space. We loved the way it was decorated and it looks to be set up for live music. Service was wonderful and we got some great recommendations. My bestie and I shared a fried sample box, and it was perfect for two. Highly recommend checking this location out.

First of all, the aesthetic and atmosphere of this restaurant are a bar above most. They have a lot of beautiful art and pictures on the walls. They even had a live band playing traditional Venezuelan music. All of this alone would garner a high rating from me. As far as the food is concerned, I order the shredded beef empanadas, and they are incredible!! Honestly the best empanadas I've had. There is something about the texture of the breading they use that just brings a smile to my face with every bite ha. I'm sure the rest of their food is good as well, but I highly suggest stopping by for the empanadas

Ordered the food on door dash and this is the first time I've had Venezuelan food in Utah. 10/10 it was amazing. The empanadas were these divine, crispy and piping hot! Cachapa is definitely delicious and I would highly recommend. It really is similar to having a tamale cake. However, the corn masa they make is soooo soft and pillowy. Stuffed with cheese and topped with corn, crema and cotija cheese.

What an amazing dining experience today at Arempas. We had our cousin visiting Salt Lake and she's never had Venezuela cuisine. So glad we brought her here as we enjoyed all the delicious food we ordered. Highly recommend their Picanha! The steak was just screaming scrumptious and the yucca and coleslaw and rice sides were amazing. Their empanadas are to die for. This could very well be the best empanadas in Utah. The dough is just cooked perfectly and it will leave you craving for more. Service was impeccable. The crew was super friendly and helpful and that is why this place deserves a 5 star rating.

I would give four and a half stars if it were an option. Our waiter was awesome. Very attentive and explained everything on the menu to us, gave us recommendations, and was super friendly. The food was amazing, too. We tried our best to try a bunch of different items, since we are just visiting and will likely not be back, and we liked everything we tried. The shining star of the meal was the salsa de ahi, a kind of garlic aioli that was amazing and we all wanted to put on everything. I would buy it by the bottle if that were an option. read more

Was really excited when we saw they had opened one so close! The first time we went the service was pretty awful and the food not nearly as good as the one downtown. It had been a long time since we've been back and friends of ours said they've had good experiences so today we tried again, unfortunately...I ordered online and got a text that our order was ready so I went to pick it up and when I told them the name they were very confused and then told me it wasn't ready. I said I got a message that was it was ready 10 minutes ago? 10 min later I'm still waiting...there's only 6 people in the store and one person who also ordered online came back in because the order was wrong. Came in on a whim because the sushi spot i was going was closed till 4. So i found this spot thanks to yelp :). I'm glad i came in! It wasn't busy at all & the host seated me right away. He Took my order & i got my drink brought to me quickly. I'll definitely be back! As well as amazing service the food was great! I tried the beef broth soup & i also got a cheese & potato empanada. I haven't tried that because i was so full from the soup but I'm sure it's fabulous! I will be back! read more

Great food and atmosphere. Always friendly staff. We go for the Empanadas, they are always stuff wells, the potatoes & cheese & the Pabellon is my favorite. really belly filling food. I took away 1 star because I feel the Salt Lake locations either uses thinner batter on them or cooks them longer so they are more crispy which I love. But besides that definitely recommend a try. read more

The food was pretty good and the place had a cool ambience... however they automatically added an 18% tip to our order with OUT even telling us! There were only TWO of us. I understand doing that of parties of 8+ but two of us? Come on. They brought out the machine and on the screen it said "add tip" so we added a 20% tip ON TOP of the 18% tip they automatically added for themselves. Didn't realize it until it was all said and done and he left us our receipt. This feels super deceitful and dishonest. Pretty annoyed about this. Won't be back. Beware! read more

Careful. These guys are dishonest. The food costs actually 18% more than the menu says it does because they automatically give themselves an 18% tip regardless of how bad their service is or how many are in your group. I'd avoid this one until they stop this practice. read more

Too expensive and in my opinion as a venezuelan my self food is not authentic. Tequenos cheese is not the right cheese, "food is just fluff" not horrible but not too good just mediocre. Arepa is hard instead of soft. Won't be back read more

Food needed seasoning and meat was super dry as if it was sitting out all day. There was nothing on the table no hot sauce or salt and pepper. The worst part was the service it was quite aggravating. There was no crowd nothing yet it took 20 minutes to even get a waiter to our table to get drinks and order food. That was the first time appearance the 2nd was when they dropped off our food. There were over 4 people serving plus bus boys so it's not like they were understaffed. No worker would make eye contact and were all hiding in the back. I had to physically get up to ask the hostess for a refill on our drinks. This was our first and last time there. read more

The owners are Colombian and Venezuelan, and know their cooking well. This is as authentic as you can get for Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine. This time I ordered the small mondongo soup with rice. What is Mondongo? Beef stomach lining, Spanish might call it callos, British would call it Tripe, Mexicans might call it menudo. Same ingredient but much lighter and flavorful. Very satisfying when the days are cold. The tequeños are the Venezuelan version of fried mozzarela sticks, some claim them as the "entry drug" to Venezuelan cuisine. I think they have a point. A sign the food is authentic- look around at the other restaurant patrons.

Kids were lining up to take pictures with Santa, so cute, but too bad that the restaurant was too packed so I end up leaving hungry. I went back again, of course. I have to say something negative, just to be fair, their famous ribs weren't that impressive. It's a bit dry and lack of flavor. Another plus is that they sometimes serve coffee after the meal. This place has traditional Venezuelan food and the menu has such a large variety it's hard to decide what to have. Everything is made fresh and the owner Chris gave us some great recommendations on the menu. We ordered Carne Asada Patacones and a side of Yuca Fries. The patacones are sandwiches that are served on fried plantains and filled with meat, cheese, lettuce and sauce. The variety of flavor just explodes in your mouth. So fresh and tasty. Also the yuca fries are freshly made and served with cheese. There's a variety of beverages available that are traditional Venezuelan and Columbian like papelon con limon or simply choose from Coca-Cola products too. We dined inside and there are several tables available with the inside decor giving a fun Latin flare. Food was served promptly and they even checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything else. I'm looking forward to another visit soon so I can explore some other fun menu options from La Casa. The meat was cooked to perfection. The carne asada was delicious, full of flavor and tender. The grilled chicken was flavorful and not overcooked. The double cheese Cachapa with carne asada was my favorite, the sweet golden corn pancake was the perfect balance of sweet and salty paired with the carne asada. The Parrilas with the mixture of carne asada and chicken is a great option, comes with multiple side options that creates a wonderful and filling meal. This is a place you need to check out. Well done La Casa De La Arepa!!!

It wasn't too loud, since only a few people were in store, including myself. I loved how clean it was, and the gorgeous mural on the wall as well!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Arempa's restaurant and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients that really impressed me. The arepas were cooked to perfection and the empanadas were a real treat. But what really made my night special was the karaoke host, Alan. He was absolutely fantastic and really brought the energy to the room. His song choices were on point and he made sure everyone had a great time. Alan's personality and enthusiasm really added to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and I can't wait to come back and sing some more with him. Overall, I highly recommend Arempa's restaurant for a fun and delicious dining experience. Make sure to catch Alan the karaoke host, he's the best! read more
