Today was my 5th time coming to this nail salon. I am very picky about how my nails get done and the quality. I originally went to one of Enjoi Nails locations and decided to find a new spot because I felt I wasn't taken care of well there and the gel polish came off easily so quality decreased dramatically there. I wanted to do my nails one day in October and yelped to find a new place and this place already had good reviews so I came here. It's farther than other places I've been to but whatever. Overall, since my first visit, I've been taken care very well and the gel manicures has lasted me at most 3 weeks! Their gel process and products are different than other salons so I really like it. The staff is super nice and really put time and effort in doing the nails. You won't regret coming here. But keep in mind they specialize in doing designs so they get a lot of customers doing it. I actually started to come to Nail De Vue before they started at this new location and never wanted to give a review because....selfish me.... with the two man team, i didn't want too many people to find out and lose my go to spot but now that they have expanded and have multiple staff members who do a great job as well, i feel that i can finally rave about them to others. Their new location is a lot bigger, with good vibes and nice decor. They always do an awesome job with my nails, and the designs I want, and Eddie will never be afraid to let you know what he thinks will look good or bad for you!! Yesterday was the first time I went to their new location, after messaging them on Wechat, and explained what i was looking for and showed them a picture of my nail design I had an appt right away. Ling already knew what i wanted done and she executed perfectly and took great care of me. To me, I find that their pricing is very fair for the work they do! Today was my third time at Arete. This place is extremely unprofessional, with a rude and arrogant attitude. If you want to go there just to do a regular manicure and pedicure, they won't care about you, they just push you off to an inexperienced person. I definitely would not recommend this place. First time I noticed this place was because I was meeting my friend while she was doing her nails there. Because this place is near my newly opened studio. A week later I went by myself. That day the spa wasn't busy and I was able to walk in without an appt. A new, inexperienced girl did my pedicure, because I wanted to get a gel manicure, and this girl didn't know how to do it, they switched me to another girl to finished my manicure. I liked the girl who did my manicure, so I went back the second time. Because I have very busy working schedule, this time I didn't make an appt. either. A young woman with very high brown hair was very cold and rude, and told me that they won't take anyone without an appt, so I walked out without my nails done. Today, the third time I went, I called for an appointment in advance. A girl who answered my call told me they have slots. When I got there, The same brown-haired women was there. Again she was very cold and said to me if I wanted to do gel then I needed to make an appt, and that they didn't have any available. but I saw the same girl who did my manicure last time was there, and I said that I would wait for her. When I was picking the nail color, the brown-haired woman kept pushing me let the inexperienced new girl to do my pedicure(not gel). I said I wanted to pick the gel color to match the pedicure, suddenly the young male owner walked out from the inside room, took away the color book from me and said: "We don't want to serve you, we don't like customers who pick staff, you should leave." I was shocked by that. First at all, when I made my appt and told them that I could wait, why did they kept pushing an inexperienced staff person to do my pedicure. Every custom has right to be treated equally and in a friendly manner. I have a right to not let my nails be done by an inexperienced staff, and people choose hair stylists and manicurists all the time. This is totally normal. The worst thing about this place is the owner and his nasty mouth, he said so many things like I was stupid and couldn't I see that we don't want to serve you here. I was terribly treated by both the owner and his employee with the big brown hair. If you want to have beautiful nails, this is not a beautiful place. I never write reviews but felt it necessary to let customers considering this place of business to take their business elsewhere. I came in for a regular mani/pedi. No appointment and was willing to wait for the next available tech. The female at the front desk was friendly. After she went to the back to ask a man I guess about how long the wait would be, she came back and basically said ok, pick a color or something of that nature. I decided to just do a pedicure since they were busy. She then told the man in the back again and came back to say that since I am pregnant, I should do a gel pedicure bc regular nail polish isn't safe for the baby (I'm 8 and half months pregnant. I didn't plan on writing a review even after my bad experience but seeing how my nails look just after a few days is why I am writing one. Starting off with the appointment booking I was scheduled for last Wednesday at 4pm but a few days prior I called to change my app and they told me to come in on Thursday at 11am, not realizing that was when they opened. I was a bit early and arrived at the store at 10:45am and waited outside as the doors were locked which I understood but 11:06am is when the girl worker arrived to unlock the door, alongside me were 2 other girls. After we went in and were seated in our own stations, I was asked multiple times if I had an appointment although I already told her the situation of how the receptionist changed my app to 11am. Eddie was in charge of my nails and began working on them around 11:15am, at around 11:25am another girl walked in and I am assuming her app was at 11am but came late and because there were only 3 workers they asked her to come back at 12pm only leaving 45mins for my nail app. He didn't pay attention to my cuticles and trimmed it by the bare minimum which didn't allow the gel polish to go close to my cuticles making it look like my nails had grown out for 3 days already. I understand the nails need to be looked at different angles to get the shape correctly but he would continuously jerked my hand/arm if it wasn't in his desired angle. Not to mention how unwilling he was to suggest different glitter colors after showing him the design I wanted. After my nails were completed I could feel my nails and the gel is so uneven that it feels and looks bumpy when you look at it from the side, the whole nail process was rushed because of the booking error. Although I had such a bad experience from beginning to end I decided to leave over 20% tip just because I understand this is somebody's wage and I guess Eddie didn't expect me to leave tip because that "thank you byebye" was the most friendly he was the past hr. I also have a feeling that if I was Chinese the customer service would've been so much better. I didn't plan on leaving a review at all but only after a few days my nails are lifting both on the top and bottom (I'm assuming because he didn't cap the gel polish well on the tips) and it was a very disappointing experience because I rarely get my nails done but wanted to treat myself for the holidays, coming out so unsatisfied. EDIT: Eddie just messaged me the same thing he has commented on my review, I am appalled with this kind of attitude from the business owner. I do not expect any nail salon to be perfect and understood a lot of the circumstances to a certain extent. If your career is based on customer service I expect to be treated at least decently as a paying customer. There was no apology what so ever. This is ridiculous and very unprofessional, won't be visiting here again and definitely won't be recommending it to others. EDIT2: Making another edit because an edit was made to their comment. It was very clear there was a booking error when I was the only one that was asked multiple times when I was booked and what my phone number was as the worker was clearly confused& annoyed of the booking error as she kept checking the appointment book. I understand that Eddie's first language is not English but you could tell a lot from someones attitude& their posture (annoyingly swishing through the gel color samples in the drawer) If Eddie did not have to rush then what explains the "meticulous" job of bumpy gel and uncared for cuticles? Although this store may have the 3 week fix policy I didn't want to return to the store after the bad nail job and more importantly bad customer service just because its not worth it. It's appalling to be called a rude and unreasonable customer when I was very kind and patient amidst the bad service during the appointment but just because I am leaving an honest review for future customers. read more

Totally disappointed!!! I was looking for new nail style for upcoming CNY, and I found this place. (Btw if you don't speak mandarin or Chinese, don't waste your time here. Because both technicians don't speak English at all.) Nails design was a-ok, but the guy clearly doesn't know how to match color, and he was trying to convinced me to put giant stone on my nails. Well i refused, because it was way too big. During the one hour process, he always talk to his friend or partner in Chinese very loud. The table was very dirty and they don't disinfect their tools. It was disgusting. Never go back again. If you are looking for a clean and quiet place, there are better places to go in flushing. I hope to keep this a hidden gem. It's located upstairs and once you open the doors to the nail salon you're instantly transported into a pretty, well decorated, nail salon. Ugh. So pretty. My bf falls asleep on the couch every time. I travel from Long Island so you know it's good. It is so hard to find a good nail art salon in Flushing, especially one where you can discuss with them. If you want nail art, do some research on instagram or have an idea of a design that you want so that they can give you suggestions. My first time was with Grace. She was patient, attentive, meticulous, professional, and did a great job with the nail art. She gave me recommendations after I showed her the design I wanted, and her recs definitely made my nail set even better. We spent at least 15 minutes trying on different solid color shades to find the best one. My nails are really small so originally she quoted me $10/nail for the design I wanted (4 fingers total) but when I paid, she said since two of my nails were so tiny, she would charge me $8 per for those. The point is not the $2 saving but that she conducts business in a fair manner. They have a membership system where you load a store card with money, and deduct from it every time you go. That way, they waive the deposit when you make an appointment and there is free credit when you sign up for the membership. Just ask! read more

For starters I did not make an appointment on a random Tuesday evening and didn't have to wait very long. I ended calling them after no one responded to the bell. The Salon itself was not easy to find on the 2nd floor. Though the space was clean, bright and well kept the AC was lacking. It felt a little stuffy on a hot summer's evening. Regular pedicure with callus treatment was what I requested. The girl working on me seems to be new, she was polite and took her time working on my foot. I don't recommend the Callus Treatment if you have thick calluses and are used (or need) to the having them cut. The salon uses a chemical callus softener and then proceeds with a metal callus shaver/remover. I would say the results are no different if I was to use a Pumice Stone on my foot in the shower. However, the attention and time spend to shape the nail, remove excess skin and polishing was on par. I saw that the tools were sanitized in a UV machine and over all the pedicure area was clean and tidy. Nothing against Gel, but I personally don't feel it's necessary for the toes and it's more difficult to remove. It's been a week since my pedicure and the polish is still going strong. I would return for a regular pedicure minus the additional callus treatment. read more

Place is decked out for a very young and hip crowd. The techs were young, hip and totally cool. My tech was a really stylish young man with arm tattoos and a very cool shark tooth necklace. I got a really comprehensive mani (which I immediately screwed up by wearing latex gloves to wash stuff) that was not rushed and detailed. Would def go back again. This was my first time trying out this location. It's a bit in a secluded area, away from the usual nail salons in Flushing. The inside was very aesthetically pleasing, clean, and welcoming. Firstly, this place is a bit pricey compared to the other spots in Flushing. However, if you are willing to spend a little extra, they are worth it. I got UV gel extension with design. The lady who did my nails spent so much time perfecting everything. My whole session was almost 3 hours. She spent a good 2 hours on just the gel extension and shaping of the nail. And for the design, I chose a photo I got from yelp and changed the base color a bit. She took the time to show me a few color and design options and was very precise while doing the designs.
