I spent more than an hour sitting there for a regular gel manicure because the lady who did my nails was either busy on her phone with other appointments or collecting the money. I was early for my appointment and if she is not ready for me she should of finished all her business instead filed one of my hands and then went back to her text without informing the customer. So I was sitting there and had no idea what was going on until 10 mins later she turned around and talked to her coworker about the appointments. Then she went back to her text and making some other phone calls, which was another 10 mins. After she filed my other hand, she went up and cashed for the other customer, which took about 15 mins ( idk why would it took so long for that person to pay) so I was sitting there just wasting my time like what the heck?!! As showing on the photos, she was rushing through the whole process. I had done many manicures before and no one rushed through like her. I have long natural nails, however she filed my nails unsymmetrical( not the length, as In the shape, because I told her not to worry about the length.) First time getting my nails done at a salon! I was super impressed and the staff was helpful and friendly. They guarantee the nails for 3 weeks which is CRAZY to me. Came here twice to do my nails and they do not disappoint!! The workers here take pride in what they do and are very careful with your nails. They constantly check if your nails are evenly shaped and makes sure every design they do is to your liking. My nail artist was extremely helpful when I picked out my colors. Certain colors she informed me would look a little clear on my nail because it's genuinely a light color. Thank goodness for her inputs, because I would not have left happy paying $35 for a color that can hardly be seen on my hands. My ring finger design took a little longer, but she did it perfectly without any problems. Their regular gel manicure is $25 I believe, so pretty worth it considering no chips after three weeks the first time I did them. They do not do acrylic, but their uv tips are suppose to last at least 3weeks. I'm not sure if they have a cheaper price for both hands, but I had to get it for one finger and it was $8. I've been coming to Nail de Vue since 2017, and despite trying out countless of nail salons in the Downtown Flushing area, this is by far my absolute favorite. This is my regular spot is because the quality and attention to detail honestly just can't be beat. My nails are really brittle and break extremely easily and this is literally the only salon I can visit and have my nails stay on for 3+ weeks. A lot of salons use gel, but few use Japanese gel. Not only do they have a great selection of colors to choose from, they use high quality gel brands imported from Japan and use sculpting gel as a base which helps the nail polish stay on much longer. Everyone is really nice and meticulous with their work, and unlike other salons, even all the newer employees are very well-trained. I tend to prefer a single color gel mani, but they are known for their intricate and beautiful designs. I can't emphasize how much I love and trust this place, highly recommend! :) read more

I love this cute nail salon here in Flushing. It is honestly much more upscale looking than many other nail salons around here. Their interior design is so cute and cozy looking. Their waiting area gives a cozy home type of environment too with the couches and stuffed animals. This place doesn't have that typical nail salon stench with chemicals that you would normally smell when you go in. I went here twice actually to do my nails and I was much happier with the service the second time I went. When I went for my first time, I had my nails done by this young guy who I think no longer works there and I could tell that he was new at this. I did ask him to do a more complicated design, but I was really not satisfied with his work. I asked him to redo one of my nails because I felt like he messed up on it pretty badly and he did so that was fine. When I went the second time, I had my nails done by Grace who is excellent at what she does. I did ask for a much simpler design than I did for the other guy, but there was an obvious difference in the level of skill between the two. I've also set up an appointment for my mom to go to this nail salon who absolutely loved it. She said their mannerism and service was top notch and made her feel very welcomed. She didn't feel rushed in and out of the salon like she would at other areas and felt that they really take care of their customer. The only thing I didn't like too much about this place is that you HAVE to make an appointment AND make a $20 venmo security deposit which you can not get back if you miss your appointment or come later than 15 minutes (usually). I understand why they do this and that this most certainly works to their advantage, but at the same time, it seems a little uptight to me. This is not a doctor's office and honestly most doctor's offices wouldn't even do this. It's a nail salon - I don't think it warrants for such strict regulations about giving a security deposit to secure your appointment. But either way, I know this is one of their ways to make sure their salon doesn't overflow with many people waiting to get their nails done and cause a hectic environment and it does in some ways improve the way they treat their customers and give them the time they deserve. read more

Clearly, none of you all speak Chinese because my experience with Eddie was absolutely horrific. When I arrived, I told them I had an appointment for a gel mani pedi and had a Groupon. To start, I got a "spa" gel pedi which consists of them putting this powder into the basin that turns it into this weird jelly material. While he was doing my pedicure, he stopped halfway and yelled to his assistant that he needed to take a shit. Exactly. Those. Words. So he literally stepped away without saying anything and went. When he came back from the bathroom, his friend stopped by to visit him and they started chatting. Even his friend was like oh but you have a customer, but Eddie was like nah she doesn't speak Chinese you good. So Eddie half heartedly tried to complete my pedicure while talking to his friend about some get rich quick schemes. Next, it was time for my manicure. The entire time, he was like oh man we shouldn't accept foreign customers with Groupons anymore. Well bro, you're the owner and you posted them, so not sure why you're complaining. When he was shaping my nails, he flung my hand back and forth to see the shape from a different angle, and almost sprained my wrist!!!! This was probably one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had in my life. Eddie's demeanor was disgusting and every other word that came out of his mouth was a curse. I've been here a few times, even though I have to drive for an hour one way to get here. They're great in their work and material. I have to say, the most impressive was my las set of nails which lasted 2 whole months. Yes, you read it right. It was 2 months without chipping or peeling. I have been struggling to find a permanent nail salon in Flushing/Bayside and I'm happy to say that I've found Arete Beauty Spa! It's my second time here and I've always gotten my nails done by Grace. She is very patient and meticulous. Due to my own personal reasons, Grace only had limited time to work on my nails. The design I picked is fairly time consuming (keep in mind that I also needed 2 nail extensions), but she made recommendations on how to make adjustments to the design so we don't have to stay after business hours. The salon is clean and the ambiance is very modern/chic. The staff is friendly and respectful. They go by appointment only and require you to put down a deposit. However, the deposit can be used toward your bill in the end, so this isn't really a big problem for me. Overall experience was awesome, I love my nails, and I would definitely come back! read more

My simple $7 manicure went very smoothly. My manicurist, Wendy, was friendly and took great care of my cuticles, but was also gentle and made sure she wasn't hurting me. I think I'm a bit spoiled by other places with more amenities like paraffin or lotion or hand massages, but even though this was a little more simple, I was way happier with this result than other places. As I walked into the salon, I felt very unwelcomed. No real smile greeding, just a simple "Hi, what do you need?" Well as long as my nails look good I guess i dont really care about your greetings. I went in for a uv gel filing with design. The guy who did my nails quoted me $75. $35 for the filing and $40 for the design. Though it was kind of a simple design, I was willing to pay for a good yelp rating service. OMG!! he took 3 HOURS doing my nails and now after a week and a half the gel has lefted in all 10 fingers. Not a little bit but A LOT! When he was FINALLY finished and it was time to pay he says $85 and started trying to explain some bs to me. Great. Seriously?!
