Aria is a little gem that you would never expect based on it's location. I walked into Aria on a Sunday afternoon, in a bad mood, overwhelmed, and in a borderline panic. I had already purchased a dress, and had exactly till the end of the day to cancel it, and after sleeping on it the prior night, I knew it just was not the right dress for me. At this point, I was just a few months away from my wedding and needed to get a dress ordered ASAP. After being greeted by Brittany and Abby- I knew I was in the right place. Their attitudes were so fun and positive, and so much better than all of the places I had been. Brittany was so patient with me- and between the two girls helping, I was able to find my dream Maggie Sottero dress. They were SO patient- letting me try on everything- helping me stay in my budget, and even allowed me to do a payment plan on the dress with no questions asked. I must say that the actual shop is nothing special (looks wise) but their selection is vast, and their main strength is their sales girls. They were WONDERFUL! My mom and I walked out very happy, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a dress. read more

Gorgeous dress, VERY SHODDY UNPROFFESIONAL "ALTERATIONS" I bought a gorgeous wedding gown at Aria last October. The girls who helped me were so nice and very very helpful. The gown was like all gowns... too big, but like all gowns that aren't the perfect size, they "fitted" it to me with clips to show me how amazing it would look when it was altered to my body. I loved it! And... I bought it. Unfortunately once the purchase was made the experience completely changed. I ordered it in my size but it was still a little big in the waist. It's a sleek, lace fitted dress, originally "sold" on me because of it's slim fit. The "tailor", who I believe now is actually experienced only with bustling, attempted to fit it to me but when I got to the final fitting, it was gathered in the waist, not smooth at all. I was trying not to be a big complainer, but there were strange poochy parts all over. When I asked what she could do about the pooch above my right hip she said "well not all our parts are even", as if I had uneven hips and that was MY fault... and then she "tacked" the lace so it made a visible seam at the right side of my waist. My mother in law mentioned that it was visible and the "tailor" actually told me to "just put your hand there and no one will notice". I couldn't believe it. By the end she had me convinced that this dress just couldn't be altered the way I had originally been shown and that this was the best it was going to get. I went home and cried. Major buyers remorse. Fortunately my friend had an actual PROFESSIONAL seamstress: Donna's Tailor Shop in Encinitas. They absolutely could fix it so it was perfect, seamless, and slim fitted. To do it they had to completely take out all the shoddy tacking from Aria's tailor. LESSON: DO NOT HAVE THEM ALTER YOUR DRESS. GO TO DONNA'S TAILOR SHOP INSTEAD. read more

First the good- I went to the store in Feb to try on dresses for my July wedding. Mid day, no appointment, I had no problem. The girl who helped me was VERY nice, wish I remembered a name. I see some other people said they weren't allowed to snap pics, I did not have this issue... I decided on a prom dress (I'm not the most traditional bride lol). Now for the BAD- The owner told me all sales are final AFTER she ran my credit card and gave me the reciept, but I shouldv'e asked about that before I handed over my card. I did ask what would happen if the dress arrived damaged in any way, they assured me they "hold" the sample dress in case of emergency so that each bride knows she will have a dress waiting, no matter what. I wasn't worried though- I LOVED the dress. They told me I could take the one in the store claiming I was the only one who had ever tried it on. I asked about a discount since it was their floor sample, they said no, again saying how "new" it was. So with no discount I opted to order what I KNEW would be a brand new gown just for me. I asked when I could pick up the dress. The owner (a small asian woman) said it should only take about 2 weeks, they would call me when it came in from the designer. I gushed right there about how excited I was that it would come so quick. I knew sometimes it could take months to get a wedding gown, but I figured it must be since i orded a prom dress and its prom season, that had to be why it would be so easy. 3 weeks later- still no call. So I gave them a call. The store mgr answered and asked for order info, said she'd call me back. About 30 minutes later she informed me my dress would arrive JUNE 22ND--- my wedding is JULY 10TH!! I told her that at time of purchase I was told it would only take 2 weeks, I asked why, and she said "Well its only 2 weeks IF the designer has the dress in stock, but I guess they didn't." I explained that this had NEVER been mentioned to me, even after my raving about the speed, they failed to mention it might take MONTHS. She offered to have the owner call me back, I said okay. 5 hours later still no call, so I called them. The owner actually told me, "No one here would tell you it only takes 2 weeks." WTF??? The mgr already referenced WHY they would say that, and it was YOU the owner who told me that in the 1st place! I said there is no way I can wait until weeks before my ceremony, especially with alterations needing to be done. She said alterations don't take that long. I was trying desperately to be nice but the STRESS was agonizing. She offered to contact the designer and "see what they can do". and call me back within a few days. As much as I wanted to scream I agreed. I did ask if I could come get the sample dress if they couldn't get me the new dress any earlier, and she said "I don't know." I told her that I had been informed they always "hold" the dress and do not even allow others to try it on while waiting for the new gown to arrive, and she said she wasn't sure, the mgr would have to look into it. GRRR. The next day the mgr called me back and said there was nothing they can do to get the dress earlier. I asked about coming to get the "brand new" sample they had originally offered me, and she reluctantly agreed. I drove there the following day & picked up my dress. I thoroughy inspected it and although it was still good enough to make me a happy bride, I can say with certainty that it was NOT brand new like they kept trying to claim- large jewels around the bodice have what appears to be water spots, but after trying to get them off i realize it was wear and tear of some kind on the jewels, trying to clean them only scratched the gems. Its only noticeable if you look up close, so i refuse to let it ruin my day, but it's still annoying to know they refused to give any discount claiming it was "Brand New". They quoted me $125 MAX for hemming... When my order fiasco started, I read the other yelp reviews and saw some brides had horror stories involving alteration probs & upping prices suddenly... When I arrived to pick up my gown, owner was doing alteration to someone else's white dress ON THE FLOOR behind the counter! WTF! I tried my dress on to make sure it was the same dress- it fit perfect. When they took the gown out of the fitting room to "bag it", I came out to find the owner trying to use TRASH BAGS to cover my BALL GOWN! I told her I live with my fiance & had been promised a garment bag to hide my dress, she just said they were "out". Sales girl got me a garment bag after doing her own hunt, thank god for her!!! Got my dress hemmed for $45 at local tailor & it's perfect. In the end I'm happy with my dress but I recommend to go somewhere else & avoid all this STRESS!!! I purchased my wedding dress from Aria Bridal over a year ago, but was unable to finish paying off the dress due to financial constraints and even had to push the wedding date back. Unlike other bridal salons who would have sold my dress to another bride, Aria held on to my dress for over a year while I was able to come up with the money to pay it off. All of the employees at the salon provided exceptional customer service that isn't too pushy and they definately don't try to over sell you anything past your price point. I even tried on a dress that was $700 over the price I wanted to spend that my mom fell in love and the owner of the store helped to take my side and push for the dress that I really wanted but was lower in cost. Furthermore, when I walked in over a year later to pick up my dress Abby remembered my name and dress without me even having to say anything. You really do feel special at this store. The only problem I had was once I got home I realized they had given me the wrong veil that was completely different from the one I had ordered. After speaking with Abby on the phone she said I could come by whenever I wanted to exchange the veil for the right one. However, after reading reviews about the alterations at Aria Bridal, I will be going elsewhere for those. I will however be purchasing all my bridesmaid dresses here. read more

She did all the alterations and was there for me each time I brought in the moms and new jewelry etc to try and see THE DRESS... WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. I had never been in this store before and I will never be back. While we were shopping we were never acknowledged, despite multiple sales associates walking past us, and they literally shut the lights off on us. No one mentioned they were closing, and I can tactfully think of 100 ways to hint to a customer & get the point across. We were looking a little baffled walking towards the door when an older gentleman (this is the only time anyone ever spoke to us) said "this is the only day we get to have dinner with our families". Seriously, sir?! We got the point when you so rudely shut the lights off while we were in the back of the store! So I needed a dress for hubs ball. I came a month in advance. She said we could do layaway and the alterations would be done as long as we paid for the alterations. So cool I put half down on the dress and paid the outrageous $100 for a simple hem on the bottom and clasp to be seen on the obviously wasn't my fault it was broken but whatever. Come back 4 days before the ball and my dress hadn't been touched... They wanted the rest of the money for the dress($400 dress btw). So anyways paid the dress went home and got a call saying my mother in law died in a tragic car accident... Called to see if I could get a refund(hubs fam isn't well off so him being the oldest we offered to pay for a service rather then handing her over to the state). They denied the refund. Completely heart less. Tried the dress on because I was absolutely in love with it and just like I thought the alterations weren't done correctly. Never ever recommend this place to anyone.., it's horribly ran, the carpet needs to be replaced and obviously management needs a good ole customer service pep talk. read more

I did find my wedding dress at this shop after looking in many other stores. However, the person who helped me wore a ring that snagged many of the gowns I tried on, stopping only after the third qown! I chose my gown to what was in stock but assumed that what they wrapped up was in good condition. When I got home I found that areas of the gown were snagged and soiled. I did not see this since I did not see the back of the dress before they snatched it from the dressing room and wrapped it up. I called the store and spoke to someone who called herself the owner/manager to let her know what happened. She was very nice and told me they had lots of that dress in stock and she would replace it. When I got there she refused and wiped up the soiled dress with dove soap and only replaced the ties on the back stateing that it was bought as is and all sales final. I have bridesmaid dresses and tux rentals still to purchase and will not use this store. I would not recommend this store to anyone. read more

I was in need of a bridesmaid dress for a wedding in another state. I had called this bridal store to see if they carried the dress. The man on the phone informed me he did not carry that designer. I then asked him to make sure because I knew he was an authorized dealer for the designer. He grumbled on the phone and checked and sure enough, he did have the dress. So I headed over to get sized and to order the dress. Upon entering, this man stayed sitting in his chair watching something on his computer. Did not get up to acknowledge a costumer. I had my toddler and sure could have used some assistance. I asked where the dress was, provided designer and style number, and the lazy man sat in his chair and WAVED his hand off in a direction saying, "over there with the other black dresses". He was of no help!!! Nor would I have been okay with this man measuring me! Not only was the customer service bad but the dress was ~ $249, every other store I called in San Diego and Nashville it was between $150-$172. I will never set foot in this mans store. My experience at Aria Bridal was outstanding! This was my first wedding dress shopping experience and it couldn't have been better. I was a bit nervous and wanted something casual and fun. They were very flexible when I made my appointment and even let me move the time up to an earlier appointment when I called the day before to confirm. They allowed as many guests to join me and even let us bring our own champagne. I was the only bride there and they gave me plenty of space without hovering but were helpful when I had questions or needed something. They helped me choose some dresses and let my family and friends pick out dresses off the racks for me. The dressing room was spacious and I felt like a princess every time I came out and got onto a stage to show my crew. I loved the variety of choices and the range in price within my budget (great dress starting at $600). The woman helping me kindly helped pair the dresses with a variety of veils and explained which dresses could be altered and which could be ordered in different colors. She let me try on as many dresses as I wanted and even let us stay about 30 minutes beyond my appointment end time. At the end, the woman wrote down the dresses I liked the most and gave me her card. She didn't pressure me to buy anything and completely understood that I wasn't ready to make my final purchase but offered to help if or when I came back. The space was clean and cool. It was a bit crowded when looking for dresses but the stage and sitting area was spacious. I will absolutely be back and recommend Aria Bridal to my friends! read more

I've now had 3 visits to Aria. My first experience was in the Fashion Valley store. It's a new location, and I was hesitant. My appointment was with Abby, and she was amazing. I called ahead and let them know what I was interested in and that I am a plus-size bride. I had been to several stores where the sales girls brought me size 8 dresses and said they could "order my size". I'm sorry, but telling a size 18 bride to try on a size 8, then drop $1000 on a dress not knowing what it looks like is ridiculous. Abby asked what I wanted, my only rule NO MERMAID. She was elated at my open-minded attitude and went off to pull several dresses. Although a small store-front, Abby was able to find me 15 or so dresses I could try on. She was amazingly fast and lacing them up and was very honest on what was flattering and what wasn't. I found two Maggie's I really liked, so had to come back at a later date. Abby suggested that I check out the North County fair location because they had even more dresses there. I made an appointment and Starr was there to help me that day. She found another 20 dresses (NO duplicates!) for me to try on. She brought me a dress that in my head, was everything I did NOT want. She said she had a feeling it would look great. And it did. Problem being, now I had dresses at both locations. No problem. I made a third appointment. Abby picked up the dress from the N.County store and brought it to Fashion Valley so I could try on all three for my entourage. I chose my dress that day! We went with my sister-in-law to look at bridesmaid dresses this past weekend. We found not only her bridesmaid dress for my wedding, but also her wedding gown. Brittany helped her find her dream dress, along with dresses for both my mom and future mother in law. Although the service deserves FIVE stars, I did not give 5 stars for two reasons: 1. Both store fronts are very small and really could use an updated viewing area (it's very hard to see yourself fully without some mirror-magic) 2. The owner of the store, who just kind of hangs out, is not very friendly. When we tried to pay the girls compliments he responded with sarcasm rather than being friendly and acknowledging how great they were. I had a very hard time biting my tongue. read more

The over abrasive customer service employee attempted to help me try on a dress in a dirty dressing room and after I couldn't put the dress over my hips she made a comment saying "you'll have to go home and exercise after that". The entire experience was unforgivable. That was the first time I had gone dress shopping for my wedding, which I was already apprehensive about, and it was supposed to be a memorable experience. It made me uncomfortable and insecure about trying on other dresses in the future. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. read more

If you care about your family and like to spend your money wisely than don't come here. I went to purchase a dress for my wife and when I was asked for a down payment I was told that if we didn't want the dress that we could get our money back, and when we decided not to get the dress she was told to try the dress again and they begin making markings on the dress without even asking us. When clearly I was told that they could start any sorts of alterations until we payed the dress in full, which we hadn't yet. So now they want to not give me my money back because they failed to specify to the client what there policy was. Not only that but they tried to tell me that because their invoice said no refunds regardless of what they said they could not give it back cause I signed it even though their employee clearly told us we would get our money back if we didn't want the dress. So not only were we lied to but they also called me a liar when clearly their Asian employee demanded my wife to try the dress again even though she didn't want to. Then they wanted talk me in to getting something else which I knew it was because they realize they lost that dress and they wanted us to buy another one so they could get there money back for the one they marked, I'm not stupid I know how a business run and they we'll always try to do anything so they won't loose the customer and their money for their own mistakes. Originally, I came down to SoCal for a college trip. But I needed a prom dress very soon since I hadn't found one. I found arias through yelp, so I thought I would give it a try. Upon walking in, Oki, the owner, greeted me right away. I was thoroughly suprised and happy that there was such a friendly and welcoming customer service, since there are many places that I've been to that don't give you the time of day until you ask for a fitting room. Oki was very patient and helpful in helping me choose a dress, and I found the perfect one. Prices are very reasonable, as the dress quality was very good. Oki, her husband, and her team of professionally trained employees were not only helpful, but created a big sense of a comfortable, welcoming environment, and definitely made me feel as if I were VIP with such an excellent customer service. read more

Where to begin? The very first thing that made me mad was that the lady came right up to my baby, grabbed his hands and started kissing them. I was filling out paperwork while my mom had him in the stroller and I turn around cuz I heard it and walked over right when she stopped. I didn't say anything but we cleaned his hands immediately. Over the phone they told me they had three dresses I was looking for so we went and they didn't have any... they had a couple of the same designer that I tried on and I liked one but didn't love it. All the dresses are kept in old clear bags and they all look dirty or yellow. I had to pick out my own dresses (which were hard to see because they were bunched up in bags), put them on by myself, walk out to find her so she could pin them (she pinched my butt once which was painful), then go show my family. It took forever just to see one dress. She had scheduled three of us at once so I couldn't ever find her. Then she kept badgering me about buying the one dress I liked as I'm trying to leave. There is no space in the store except the dressing room which is big but not clean at all. Just a horrible experience all around. read more

I did my research and took at chance @ Aria Bridal and am absolutely thankful I did. I was expecting to visit numerous places and have a headache by hour 5 but who would of thought I bought a dress after 2 hours!! Ok so the space/ building definitely needs a facelift but all that aside, they have a huge selection of Maggie Sottero dresses which is why I went. Abby & her mom were wonderful. Abby took one look at me and knew what to pull for my try ons without question. Dress #2 was all it took and I knew it was the one. I ended up with a Sophia Tolli dress which was more perfect than Maggie Sotterro. The entire consultant staff was courteous and fun to work with. I am now choosing my bridesmaid dresses & groomsmen suits there as well bc the selection and experience was so easy and good. Thanks for making my day so great and I can't wait for the end result!! I walked into Aria on a whim after trying on wedding dresses on at another bridal boutique in San Diego. I was confused and could not decide on a dress. Oki was the first person to greet me and she was very helpful. I told her the styles I was looking for and she knew the designer and the style I was envisioning. I was shocked by their vast selection of different designers and dresses they carry. Oki was knowledgeable about the designer that I was interested in and knew what styles would be flattering for my body type. When I began trying on dresses it was a no pressure experience, which is the opposite experience I had before. I was so happy with the experience I scheduled an appointment so that my sister could come back with me. When I had come back Oki remembered who I was and what dress I was interested. She had Abby assist me. Abby is amazing! She pulled a dress for me that was everything I was envisioning. She was knowledgable about the designer and was able to show me how the bustle would look. She also gave great advice and guidance about fittings and ordering the correct size. This is great store! I have recommended it several times already. Great customer service, no pressure with employees trying to push a dress on you. And most of all knowledge and experience. Now that my daughter has taken delivery of her wedding gown, ordered in December, I would like to review the wonderful treatment we received from Aria Bridal. After having tried on gowns at two other bridal shops with an entourage of friends and family, the bride was certain about just the kind of dress she wanted. She and I went to Aria shortly thereafter, where we found that dress. We returned one more time and made the purchase. The next day a variety of factors contributed to convincing my daughter that she had chosen badly. I called the shop and spoke to Abby, who kindly offered to hold our order and allow us to schedule yet another session, in order to find the right dress. Some days later, we returned with five friends and family members to try on many more dresses. Jasmine patiently and professionally assisted. Oki was kind and encouraging. The bride tried on one last fairy/princess dress that was anathema to her tomboy style. Seeing her in that gown elicited applause and an incredible grin on the bride's face. She really did want to be a princess, at least for one day. We are grateful to all of the lovely ladies who assisted us. I insisted that they order me a size 6 because per-baby I was a 4 and knew I would lose the weight fast... Well I am NOT one of those woman and kept insisting on a 6 but they decided to take it apon themselves and order me a 10!!! The dress finally came in (and they never called to tell me) it was a size 10 and it slipped right off when I tried it on... They then altered it or so they said... I picked it up and they only took in the top part and the dress looked like a parachute on me. Every time i would go in they would be totally rude to me and the "young girl" who apparently alters the dresses would say stuff under her breath and never ever would admit that they were wrong!!! I live 30min away from this place and I have had to drive back 3 times because of their mistakes that they make me feel horrible about!!! I am SO happy I didn't get my wedding dress here or any of my bridesmaids dresses!! David's bridal runs circles around this place... I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone & I will make sure that all of my friends who get married know about my experience! read more
