This review is about the house DJ. One word to describe him "jerk". During dinner service he was playing this loud heavy beat dance music. The grooms cousin asked him to please turn down the volume - no one could have a conversation. He told him he would. He did not. I asked the DJ the same - he did not change the volume. The cousin's asked him again. He did not change. I asked the groom's dad to tell the DJ to change and lower the volume - the guy paying for the event. The DJ did not change. The bride's mom asked the manager to tell him. Well the music did not change during the dinner. He had some type of ego and would be told what to play. Then when we needed some up beat music during various ceremonies he starts playing slow dispersing music. If you are going to book this place don't ruin your part by picking the house DJ - bring your own DJ. read more

What a fresh breath of air !!! Desi restaurant which feels good. Staff is great. They made us very comfortable. The decor is very nice as well you get a feel of an upscale restaurant. Food is good especially veggie samosas, that's why this is my favorite place for samosas now. However, the meat dishes are all very spicy, buttered chicken, chicken tikka masala, and goat curry. Even the Cholley Lajawab ( garbanzo beans) are surprisingly very spicy. Well, if you are really into spicy food, it's good! My adult kids liked the food but some of us cannot take the level of spiciness. If the chef can put down the spiciness a little bit into mild or medium, I would appreciate it better. Went there are quite a few times before the pandemic and went the yesterday expecting the same quality of the food and was really disappointed. They did not have the buffet, understandable, so we ordered off the menu, I ordered chicken tikka and it was described as cubes of breast meat cooked in a tandoor, its my regular order when I go to indo/paki restaurants so I know what I should be getting. this was chicken thighs which were tasteless smother with something that made it red/orange. When I asked the waitress about it, she no longer spoke English, wonder how she took our order and repeated it back to us. The restaurant only had 2 occupied tables and it took forever for the food. the soup came to the table after the my friends meal was served then came the soup, then one order of chicken naan, then the other chicken tikka, then the garlic naan, then roti. I'm not sure what review I should give. We had our Sangeet here for 155 people a month ago. Pros: 1. Hassan is a gem to work with. He does his best to serve his customers and I appreciate working with him. 2. Lots of space for parking 3. Big beautiful hall with chandeliers are colored lighting 4. They have a new chef and food is really good now!!!! A few big cons during my event: 1. The DJ was absolutely horrible. When it came time to play songs for the individual performances (we sent him the songs prior) he played the wrong ones consistently. It made our event look unorganized. Then for even one song he couldn't play it so we had to get it again from the performer. He also did not turn on the state of the art lights that we paid for, or turn down the back lighting when people were performing. It was like he didn't care and honestly didn't want to be there. I was so mad but had to keep a smile on the stage. 2. Our event started at 530 and people arrived promptly. However there was no bartender, so we had NO drinks for about 30 minutes. That was bad as my family loves to drink. Who wants cocktail hour with no cocktails.. 3. They were supposed to leave the appetizers out but took them away when dinner was served. read more

My family recently held an event here and here is the rundown. We saw the hall a while ago and it was stunning, so when it came time for my brother to have his wedding reception, this was a top choice. Pros: -Ample parking in the parking lot as it's a large shopping center, well- lit, especially at night. Felt safe. They make you hire security, but it's worth it. -Nice ambiance and beautiful chandeliers inside -Clean bathooms -Delicious food, pani puri stall was a hit with the guests. Butter chicken was really really tasty. Food never ran out. -Waiter service was good, and kept tables clean of dirty plates. While we were greeting guests, I asked one of the waiters to get chai for my parents and he was so nice and did. -We dropped off alcohol earlier so they were able to chill the beers & vodka. -Bar setup was great -Manager was there the whole time, until the end. I will say, he was running around as well, not just delegating tasks. Cons -Agreed upon contract that appetizer service for 270+ guests would start at 6:30, but did not start until 6:50. This made all the guests have to wait in line. -As oppose to a traditional cake, we had cupcakes. They forgot to put out the cupcakes and we had to remind them when we noticed at around 10:30. -One of the chicken items was mislabled as a veggie item which was not ok. I wish they had put the chutneys, then the chicken & fish. Instead, they did veggie apps, chicken, chutney then fish. This didn't make for a clear separation of veggie items. -There was coke/sprite available. When we had guests ask for diet coke, I asked the manager, and he said he could only do 2 things. I asked if he even had a few bottles and there was no assistance with this. -There was a lack of communication between DJ & management. We had to ask multiple times for lights to be turned down. Ceiling lights were wrong color, which didn't go with color theme and weren't changed throughout evening. DJ played the wrong slide show, until I finally noticed. -A few days before the event, they told our decorator she couldn't see the venue until she presented proof of insurance, even though she had previously been there with us. Great Desi restaurant! Staff is very helpful and courteous. I am in the field in South Bay three times a week. I stopped by for lunch buffet. Fish Pakora, gobi Manchurian, mutton curry - All delicious! Butter chicken was very tasty but a little dry. Otherwise, large buffet, nice decor and clean. This place is truly elegant. I've been here a few times on weekdays for lunch and each time left happy. The decor is quite nice, and very clean. The wait staff is always attentive and friendly. There is a large selection to choose from, and very tasty. I'm not much of a fish person, but even that was excellent. Some people I saw wrote bad reviews because of price, or food being cold. In the three times I ate there I never experienced cold food (& I ate some of everything, twice each time). Also, for what you get, the price is reasonable. I hate to see whiners give a 1 star review because they couldn't use an expired coupon, or whatever. Stupid. Food is excellent, large selection, friendly staff, nice decor, and clean. As one of their early customers who hosted our reception at this place, I want to share my experience of dealing with the management - especially Sammy. And before I start with the particulars, I want to mention that we are not the only ones as we have met 4 others with similar experiences. So here goes - 1. The very first meeting was all happy and good. Sammy came across as the nicest guy who promised all kinds of things and said don't worry about this, don't worry about that...I got you with cutlery, I got you at this price etc. etc. 2. We were super happy and after another meeting we left a deposit and decided to come back later to finalize the menu and items. This is a common practice as they allow everyone at least 3-4 weeks before the event date to finalize the menu. 3. Now comes the worst part. As promised we came to finalize the menu and stupid us - we just took everything Sammy said at its face value and never really got a signed copy with details. This is when Sammy and his promises flipped. Yes, 3 weeks before the event, cards printed and everything... of course we are stuck with them and Sammy refuses most of the commitments he made. He says, oh yes I said I'll give you napkins, but not at the price we discussed. He said oh I can't bring water, that's on you. He even took out 1 appetizer that he had promised. And finally, the worst was that we had given them a deposit for catering at all our events and he absolutely refused to give plates or any silverware. 4. This close to our wedding, this was the most stressful thing because money aside, now we had no trust as to how our events would go. We were in a really shit situation. Luckily for us, we had a common connection with one of Sammy's partners who is no longer in business with him and eventually because of all the pressure from our side, the other owner started working with us and we never saw Sammy after that. 5. This is has happened to all the others that we have talked to. One of the common screw ups they do is over commit the size of the party for the hall. They claim they've hosted 600 people in that hall, which is completely ridiculous. So please do your research before you sign up with these guys. They have rebranded to Aria now, and I believe 1 or 2 owners have left and opened their own halls. Stay away and because you don't need Sammy's greed ruining the best days of your life. read more

My husband and I went to Aroma for lunch yesterday, as we had a 10% off coupon for their grand opening. They state their lunch buffet is open until 3:00PM, and we got there at 2:22. The space is really beautiful, painted in soft, warm grays. The furnishings are very welcoming, with tufted, comfy, gray chairs. The chandeliers are jaw dropping! The reason I gave 2 stars is because the food is amazingly delicious, and the buffet offers a large selection. Also, for the gorgeous decor. Here come the reasons for deducting 3 stars. When we arrived, we were the only people there, and I was directed to a table in the middle of the restaurant. I asked to be seated at a table by the wall, and was told no, that was a four seater. Since the restaurant was empty, I didn't understand what the issue was, so again asked, and was told that they'd set the table for four. So what?? We sat there anyway, and I think it irritated the guy. Hello, we're your guests remember? We went to the buffet at about 2:35, and at 2:45, we were told if we wanted anything else, they were shutting down the buffet in 5 minutes. They say they're open until 3:00??? We were still charged full price, all for our fifteen minutes of rushed glory :-(We were rushed and ushered out by 2:55. I wish they were more hospitable, as we'd love to return, but there are many more great places that welcome our business. It's unfortunate, because it's obvious the owners have made an enormous investment, and I'm sure they won't be happy to lose business so early into their venture due to sub par service. read more

It turns out the restaurant doesnt even have a south Indian cook full time. He is only there 1 or 2 days a week.
