This review is long overdue.... I've bee seeing Andrea Lents for nearly two years. The first time I saw her, she had her work cut out for her. I needed MAJOR color and cut correction. My hair was in bad shape. There were tiger stripes which should have been ombre and the cut literally looked like someone took a weed wacker to the left side of my hair. I really hated my hair when I walked in to the salon. On our first visit, I came prepared with a photo of the direction I wanted my hair to look like. Andrea was really patient with me and took the time to explain how long it would take to achieve the look I want, which colors would look good with my skin tone, etc. She also explained how we could do the color safely so we don't damage my hair, since my goal was to grow out the bad haircut. Since I've been going to Andrea, I receive SO many compliments on my cut and color. People ask me all the time where I go and I'm thrilled to pass out her card. I love my hair!!! It's really fun because she takes photos of your hair and I can't believe the transformation from when I first started seeing her. Everyone at Aria is so friendly and fun loving. The salon is very clean and I especially love that they play really fun music and always have me laughing. Even better, I always feel amazing about myself when I walk out the door. Linda is an exceptional esthetician. I go to her for my eyelash extension and she leaves them amazing!! The best thing I love about her it's that she is very dedicated, professional and such a perfectionist. I always get compliments because people would think my lashes are natural. She is the only one I trust. Best thing about having lashes is not having to worry about an extra step on your make up and not worry about having mascara residual under you eye (that happens to me even with designer mascara) I would definitely recommend Linda for any beauty treatment!! read more

Matina is excellent. I can't say enough about her haircuts/styling. I recommend her all the time, getting compliments on my haircuts and styling. Matina has been cutting my hair for about 7-8 years. I have long, layered hair. I am particular. I trust her w/ my hair. She is thorough and efficient. Matina takes her time, paying attention to your hair. After she cuts and blows my hair dry, she goes over it, making sure she's achieved the right cut. Matina is also the best at a blow outs. THE BEST! She is gentle w/ the brush, achieving the right amount of bounce and smoothness. If she styles it, it's so pretty and sexy, lasting several days. I love it! I highly recommend Matina for hair cuts, styling and blow outs. I have followed her in her career and I will continue to do so as I find her simply awesome at her profession. She is amazing. Aria salon is modern and clean. Open space and welcoming. Quiet and relaxing. The staff are all very nice and at ease. Nothing pretentious. I'm particular with my haircuts, and I've been through some butcher shops over the years (trying to save a buck = usually not worth it). For me consistency is important, my last stylist was decent, but my haircuts looked different every time--so wasn't completely pleased. My wife recommended her stylist which at face value was like ummm no thank you. However, when she explained her stylist (Anthony) was originally trained as a barber who later trained as a stylist, it caught my attention. Now after visiting Aria Salon for over five visits, I can attest that Aria Salon is a fine salon for both women and men. Excellent customer service, clean décor, and convenient hours. I moved to the area a few months ago and turned to Yelp to help me find a salon. I have fallen in love with Aria and would highly recommend them. The stylists are all adorable, kind, and great to chat with. I have medium/long very thick hair with long layers. The cut isn't very complicated but no one has ever been able to get it perfect. I've been seeing AJ since my first visit and he is the BOMB. He listens to your suggestions and accommodates your requests while adding in his expertise. I am in love with my cut for the first time! He suggested the perfect color from day one and I've never looked back. Anthony is a maestro with scissors! I am excited beyond words at the haircut he gave me. This was my first time at the salon and the minute I walked in I was welcomed, the folks there were super friendly and chatty and I just felt really at ease (which was important to me because I left my old salon and felt a bit sad). I went to Aria for the first time last weekend, and had high hopes after reading all of the great reviews; I wasn't disappointed! I called on Thursday and they even offered to have me in that afternoon, but when that didn't work, they fit me in when it was convenient for me - I really appreciated that. Ashley was my stylist, and she was a great listener. We spent a few minutes discussing the details and once we both felt comfortable with the style, she got to work. I wanted to try a new salon after mine started charging absurd fees for long hair. I found Aria on Yelp and decided I needed to try. I loved that they take appointments via text, very easy. Unfortunately there was a mix up that was both of our faults and I had to reschedule. Aria was great about rescheduling and offered a discount for the miscommunication. Amazing customer service! I was WAY overdue on a cut/dye job and AJ took the best care of me. I went from two tones of brown to a deep red. I showed AJ a photo of what I wanted, he looked at it twice and was able to replicate it exactly. He also thinned out my hair and gave a great blow out. I was truly impressed with Aria. From the minute I walked in, I knew I was going to have a good experience. The decor is modern, but inviting. Sleek urban furniture is offset by pops of color in the form of simple floral arrangements in clear vases. My coat was hung up and I had a hot cup of passion fruit tea within three minutes of arriving. While I waited for my stylist (the talented and super sweet AJ), I enjoyed a friendly chat with other staff members and marveled at how comfortably I was. Salons usually put me a bit on edge - I never feel chic enough to be there. This absolutely was not the case with Aria. The cut is fantastic. I have long hair that many stylists are afraid of spoiling, which usually means I end up with a lackluster cut. AJ kept my length, but added layers and framed my face so my hair actually has some shape. He asked lots of questions regarding my styling preferences and product usage, and gave me a cut that suits my needs. Bottom line: fantastic salon. Reasonable prices for forward, flattering styles. I really love this place. I was very nervous when Brilli shut down and transitioned the business to Aria, but what occurred was nothing short of magical: Aria is better than Brilli. It's the size and cost of a small, neighborhood salon with the vibe AND TALENT of a cool downtown salon. I love it here. It's bright, clean and a really positive (non-snooty/non-factory-like) environment. Monica is one hell of a stylist. She can do anything. I've gotten raves on my highlights for the past MONTH! Matina did the spray tan for my wedding and even the makeup artist thought I was naturally olive skinned. These two girls are a huge part of the reason I felt BEAUTIFUL on my big day. That's worth every penny you put down at a salon (and Aria is sooooo affordable for everything you get when you sit in their chairs!). Great music on the iPod all the time. Love spending time here. Wow. Very different feeling than previous reviews. Saw Ryan for a color, he made passive aggressive comments last time I was in but I thought he was just in a bad mood. Nope, complained the entire time about my hair being too tangled, his lack of time, etc. made me feel super uncomfortable. Then really messed up my color and I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. The new stylist was shocked at what had been done. Very strange vibe overall in the salon. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else unless you are getting a short cut and don't mind passive aggressive behavior. read more

I'm so happy with my haircut and with the service at Aria. I had my first appointment there today with Ryan, and he was wonderful. He spent some time getting a feel for what I wanted done, gave his ideas about what he thought would work, and checked in with me as he went. I couldn't be happier with the results. The salon is both very professional and very comfortable. I was so relaxed and Ryan was very friendly and great to talk with. He took the time to explain what he was doing, and gave me some tips on how to best work with my hair that were really tailored to how much time I actually want to spend on my hair. The whole thing was just really nice. I made an appointment at Aria based on the Yelp reviews (I bought the $55 for $40 Yelp deal), and at the time was surprised they didn't have more reviews given how high the ratings are. On the overall I am not impressed with my haircut. As a guy that is incredibly anal about his hair, you definitely don't start out with the electric shears (call them what you will) to save time. That is just poor, especially when you are paying a pretty penny for a cut. Because of this I now have a noticeable 'bald' spot on the side of my head (because he went to f***ing town in the first place). Ryan listened to what I had to say and did what he could do. One upside is that since I was a first time customer, I paid 40$ instead of 60$, and for my next haircut there will be a 20$ discount. That is nice. However, I'll stick to Red 7 Salon from now on. And as stated initially, I am not impressed. But I wouldn't say I am angry. Not trying to give this salon a bad rep by any means, but this was just my personal experience as a male getting my hair cut here. read more
