This little market has some really good stuff. The candy is delicious. I'm not sure what the name of the candy is but they are basically home made Turkish delights. Kind of a fruity gummy log with pistachios mix inside. Some have crushed pistachios covering the outside and some have a peanut butter kind of center. The gummy part is soft but still a little chewy, more of a soft licorice texture. They used to have them behind glass and you could just choose which ones and how much. But now they have three cut logs in plastic containers on the shelf. Still delicious though. They have plenty of different spices and some fresh looking meats in the back. Today I just got candy and some dried apricots for later since I was getting food in the little connected restaurant.

Goat biryani

Dropped in for lunch on a Sunday. Upon entering, you'll see their small dining area. To the right is the meat/grocery area. We dined in but most people were ordering food to-go. It appears to be a small family run business, the ladies were hard at work, cooking at the grill and a gentleman was taking orders, busing food and also helping customers at their grocery register. It took a few minutes before we got help at the counter but we were able to order. A few minutes later, we found out that they were out of chicken biryani...a little disappointing, but the cook suggested goat curry, which we agreed to. The wait was worth it because the food was SO GOOD. I'm not huge on mutton:goat dishes but this one was so well done, no unsavory aroma and the meat was incredibly tender! The rice, perfection! Our other dish was the chappli kabob served with basmati/saffron rice and salad. Not too spicy and all the flavors were there. We were able to overlook the slight delay in service and them being out of chicken biryani because the food hey cook is AUTHENTIC and DELICIOUS. If you like kabobs, this place is one to try/ they make wraps too, perfect for on the go lunches. We had a helping of firni (a rice pudding) for dessert and it was flavored with rose water, definitely worth a try.

Potato bolani

We've been here several times and I'm finally reviewing this amazing little place! But first, no, it's not a pretty little restaurant, although they did fix it up and add a few booths but it's a market, with a butcher on the back right, delicious food at the back left and tasty desserts in the front counter. So I always get the gyro plate and the potato bolani. Always delicious and full of amazing spices and flavors. The meat is soft and seems to melt in your mouth, their rice is soft and buttery, just delicious. You buy your drinks in the front, the grocery part of the store and while you're at it, just buy several little desserts. They have small Turkish delights, different little rolled snacks and baklava. I wish I had taken a picture but next time.

I sold me the old meat thanks man

I don't know why this guys are selling unsold meat to the regular customers. Losing customers not good!!

I still remember when I first moved here to San Diego 13 years ago; I didn't know anybody and was very homesick, so my ex-husband brought me here. It was very funny because I was too shy to say hi to anyone, so he took the courage to say hello to a group of girls who he overheard talking in my dialect and introduced me to them, and that's how I started meeting new friends. That being said, this is the right place to go whether you're feeling homesick or missing food delicacies back home. This is my favorite Filipino supermarket; they also have a branch in National City. The wet market is the best since I love fish, they always have different varieties of fresh and frozen fish daily. There's no pungent smell and it's always clean, it's big factor why I love coming here. You pick your own fish, put it in a bag, head to the weighing section, and they clean and cut it for you after weighing. They could also fry it for you for an extra cost, which is very inexpensive and convenient. It's one of my favorite services that they provide because it saves me a lot of time frying it myself at home and getting oil everywhere. However, coming here is always challenging. I always tell my son we're just going to come in and out, but we never leave the store with only few items, always a full cart. There's a lot of good stuff everywhere, next thing you know your cart was over $200-$300! Next to the supermarket, there is Chowking, Red Ribbon, Atlas Shippers Box, LBC, and many other shops that carry everything you need.

Being publicly confronted and treated like thieves was humiliating and upsetting. The entire experience left us feeling singled out and profiled. Customers should be treated with respect and not subjected to accusations without evidence. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and as a result, we will not be returning to Zion Market.I attempted to show my receipt to this security guard he refused to look at it and worst of all never apologize for after accusing us of taking something without paying. i'll tell you what's even worse is that the milk for half a gallon of organic milk was 899/ three dollars more than the other grocery stores this place is out of control. what happens when you assume?

Dear Little India Center,…read more Uppar kya hai? (What's up?) Thank you for helping ease me back into the real world after spending six months in India last year. You know exactly how to take care of my cravings for all things Indian. You had the foresight to fill your shopping center with many different restaurants both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, both North Indian and South Indian. Ashoka the Great, Madras Cafe, India Princess and Surati Farsan Mart. Whenever I need my Indian food fix, this is where I come. You added not one, not two, but three Indian grocery stores so I can pick up my spices, atta flour, lentils, tea and Indian veggies and make Indian food whenever I want. You have cool stores like; a sari shop filled with the brilliant reds, oranges, golds and aquas of India, an Indian video store where you can rent or buy the latest Bollywood movie and a yoga center for inner peace. You even added a Hindu temple for those that are devotional or would like to perform puja. Little India Center, you though of everything, but where are the masses of autorickshaws, the pollution, the packs of feral dogs and the street urchins? That would make it REALLY authentic.
